Unit 4

My Family

Hello, my name is Lily and I am a sixth-grade student. Today

I want to talk about my family. I come from a big and happy

family, consisting of my parents, grandparents, and my little

brother.

First of all, let me introduce my parents. My mom is a doctor

and works at a hospital. She is very kind and caring, always

taking care of my brother and me. My dad is a teacher and

teaches English at a local school. He is very patient and always

helps me with my homework. They both work hard to provide for

our family and give us a good life.

Next, I want to talk about my grandparents. They are retired

and spend most of their time taking care of our family. My

grandma loves cooking and always makes delicious meals for us.

My grandpa loves to tell us stories about his youth and takes us to the park on weekends. They are both very loving and

supportive, and I am so grateful to have them in my life.

Last but not least, there is my little brother, Tim. He is four

years old and full of energy. He loves to play with his toys and

always makes us laugh with his funny antics. He looks up to me

and always wants to do everything I do. I love him so much and

am proud to be his big sister.

In conclusion, my family means everything to me. They are

always there for me, supporting me through thick and thin. I feel

truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and I will always

cherish the memories we create together. Family is not just an

important thing, it is everything. Thank you for listening to my

story.

Title: My Favorite Activity

In our sixth grade English textbook, there is a unit about

activities we enjoy doing in our free time. In this unit, we learned

about different hobbies, sports, and creative activities that

people can participate in to relax, have fun, and express

themselves. Among all the activities mentioned in the unit, my

favorite one is drawing. Drawing has been my favorite activity for as long as I can

remember. I find it incredibly relaxing and uplifting to sit down

with a pencil and a piece of paper and let my imagination run

wild. Whether I'm drawing a simple doodle or a detailed sketch,

the process of transferring my thoughts and ideas onto paper

brings me immense joy and satisfaction.

One of the things I love most about drawing is the endless

possibilities it offers. There are no limits to what you can create

with a pencil and paper. From realistic portraits to abstract

designs, from landscapes to cartoons, there is no shortage of

subjects to draw and styles to experiment with. Every time I pick

up a pencil, I feel like I am embarking on a new adventure,

exploring new techniques and pushing the boundaries of my

creativity.

Drawing also helps me to unwind and destress after a long

day. I often find myself lost in thought as I sketch away,

completely absorbed in the process of bringing my ideas to life.

The rhythmic motion of my hand moving across the paper, the

sound of the pencil against the page, and the feeling of focus

and concentration all combine to create a calming and

meditative experience that helps me to clear my mind and find

inner peace. Moreover, drawing allows me to express myself in a way that

words cannot. As someone who is not always good at verbal

communication, I find that drawing is a powerful tool for me to

convey my thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether I am

feeling happy, sad, excited, or frustrated, I can always turn to

drawing as a way to process my feelings and connect with others

on a deeper level.

In conclusion, drawing is not just a hobby for me; it is a

passion, a form of self-expression, and a source of joy and

fulfillment. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore this

activity further through the English textbook and to share my

love for drawing with others. I hope that more people will

discover the beauty and benefits of drawing and find their own

creative outlet to enrich their lives.

Unit 4 Our country

China is a vast country with a long history and rich culture.

As a sixth-grade student, I am proud to introduce my country to

people all over the world.

China is located in East Asia and is the fourth largest country

in the world. It is famous for the Great Wall, the Forbidden City,
