Unit 2 重点知识一览表

一、形容词的比较级

1. 用法：用于两者之间进行比较，表示其中一个比另一个“更…”或“较…”，后用than连接。

2. 构成：1） + er 2） 以e结尾只加 –r 3） 以辅音字母加y 结尾的词，把y 变成i ， 再加—er .

4） 重读闭音节以一个辅音字母结尾的，先双写辅音字母，再加—er 。5）部分双音节和多音节词，要在其前加more.

6） 不规则变化的形容词

3. 比较级修饰词：a little; much; a lot; far; even 等。如：汤姆比杰克稍高点。

Tom is a little taller than Jack.

特殊用法：

1） 比较级 and 比较级：越来越……如：

天气变得越来越暖和。

It is becoming warmer and warmer.

这个小女孩越来越漂亮。

The girl is more and more beautiful.

2） The + 比较级, the + 比较级：越…就越…

如：你吃得越多，你将会越胖。

The more you eat, the heavier you will be.

The + 比较级 of the two…两者中较…的一个… 如：两个男孩中，较高的那个是我弟弟。

The taller of the two boys is my brother.

二、课本重点讲解

1. As you can see, in some ways we look the same, and in some ways we look different.

1) as : 如…的。 如：

正如我们所知，汤姆的英语比吉姆讲得好。

As we all know, Tom speaks English better than Jim does.

2) in some ways: 在某些方面；从某种意义上

3）此处look为系动词，意为：看起来。后加形容词。类似的还有：sound, feel ……

如：我感到不舒服。I feel terrible.

4) be the same as 反义：be different from

2. both : 两者，双方，二人

1）位置：be 之后，行为动词之前。如：

We are both students.

We both like sports.

2) 作代词：如： 那两本书都很有趣。

Both of the books are interesting. == The books are both interesting.

3) both…and….“…和…都” “既…又…” 如：

Both you and I are good at English.

3. more than : “超过；大于”== over 后常接数词如：It takes me more than two hours to do

homework.

反义短语：less than

4. as…as:“和…一样…”中间用形容词或副词原形

如： She is as outgoing as me.

1) not as + 形或副原级 + as ：表示双方在某个方面不同。如：His English is not as good as

hers.

5. be good at + n. / Ving. == do well in 擅长，在…做得好 如：他很擅长弹钢琴。He is good

at playing the guitar.==He does well in playing the guitar.

6. make sb. do sth. 让某人做某事。 如：

Don’t make the little boy cry. 别让这个小男孩哭。

1）make sb. + adj. 使某人… 如：

Don’t make the little boy sad. 别让这小男孩伤心。

7. laugh at sb. 嘲笑某人

We shouldn’t laugh at him. 我们不应该嘲笑他。

8. It is+ adj. (for sb.) to do sth. 做某事对某人来说..

would like和want的用法区别

would like和want意思差不多,但使用的场合可能会有点细小的区别

A 在下列情况下，这两个词可以互换使用：

1. 用于请求或有关请求的问句中（但这里不使用 would not like，参见下面B1）：

Customer：I’d like some raspberries，please．/I want some raspberries，please．

顾客：请给我拿点儿木莓。

Greengrocer：I’m afraid I haven’t any．Would you like some strawberries？

蔬菜水果商：对不起，我没有木莓了。您来点草莓怎么样？

Customer：No，I don’t want any strawberries，thanks．

顾客：不，谢谢，我不想要草莓。（这里不能用 wouldn’t like。）

I would like常常要比 I want更有礼貌。

would you like？要比do you want？更有礼貌，也更殷勤。

would you like？可以含有愿意满足别人的希望的意思。do you want？则不含有这种意思。因此，与顾客或客人打交道时，通常用 would you like？：

Caller：I’d like to/I want to speak to Mr. X，please．

打电话者：我想找X先生说话。

Telephone operator：Mr. X is out．Would you like to speak to Mr. Y？

话务员：X先生出去了。您跟Y先生说行吗？

2. 如果不是提出请求而只是谈到愿望时，可以随意用would like或want的肯定式、疑问式或否定式。它们的意思没有区别，然而，I want要比I would like显得更自信。 I want通常不用于表示不可实现的愿望：
