The current situation of the teaching of English writing in in junior middle school
1.Students are reluctant to approach writing, even fear it, and there are no other motives for them to write an essay except for taking the exam.
2.Students are used to thinking in Chinese first, and then put what they think in mind into English.
3.Most of the students even don’t know how to revise the composition, they don’t know which way they could use and which aspects they should start.
4.Students lack of the opportunity of for improving their level of writing through discussion, collaboration, and feedback.
5.As for the majority of teachers, they didn’t think highly of the writing.
6.Not all the teachers have proficiency in teaching writing and have an overall and systematic understanding of writing class.
7.Writing itself is a time-consuming process, but the time in a class is limited, many teachers feel it is not enough time for them to finish the teaching tasks.
8. The current writing teaching approach is out of date, which cannot attract student’s interest of learning.
9. There are lots of grammatical mistakes in student’s essay.
10.In the traditional writing lesson, there are little guidance on writing skills. Students just write passages by imitating the samples of articles model.
The Significance of the Study
1.New Standard for English Curriculum makes higher requirements of writing ability.
2.The task-based teaching approach practice student’s comprehensive language ability, including student’s writing ability.
3.It provides a new-type model of teaching for the English writing teaching in junior high school.
4.It is able to inspire student’s interests in the English writing, and strengthening the student’s motivation.
5.It contributes to help students to cultivate good writing habit of students.
6.It can enhance student’s knowledge base and cultivate the innovation of students.
7.To some extent, this method is able to make up the limitation of student’s cross-cultural competence.。
