There was one thought that air pollution affected only the area immediately around large cities with factories and heavy automobile traffic. At present, we realize that 71 . The weather’s nice, and the youngsters are out of time. Here are a few tips to help you along the way: Nature is all around us. 37 For small kids, there’s likely plenty in the backyard, courtyard, or schoolyard. National parks are great, but kids foster a deep connection with nature close to home! 38 Don’t worry too much about what to do once you arrive at your nature-rich destination. What kids really need is free time to engage all their senses and use their imaginations. You can learn too. What counts is simply to get out there, show that you value the outdoors, and be ready to have fun. 39 In fact, it is not necessary for you to know anything at all about science or nature. And remember, questions are more powerful than answers anyway! Sit back and watch your kids learn. Don’t be too much of a helicopter parent, always saying “no”. Instead, try to spare more time to stay with your kids when necessary.
