孟轲有一句话说的极其准确，“大孝终身慕父母”孝是中华名族的传统美德。做人以孝为本，首先要学会孝，其次才能学会善良，最后才能做一个成功的人。在2011年感动中国十大感动中国人物中就有这样的一位女生——孟佩杰。
孟佩杰五岁时，因父亲车祸不幸身亡，而母亲也在将她赠人抚养后不久因病去世。可是厄运并没有停止对她的捉弄，养母在三年后瘫痪在床，养父不堪生活压力而一走了之。绝望中养母企图吞药自杀，是八岁的小佩杰用自己发自肺腑的呼唤重燃了养母生活的信心，“妈，你别死，妈妈不死就是我的天，又妈就有家。”
好一个“有妈就有家”，从此以后，当别人家孩子在父母膝前央求着买这买那，要去动物园时，小佩杰正在独自买菜中，一路上背着自己编的口诀“长长的青葱圆圆的蒜，扁扁的豆角绿油油……”回到家，她独站在灶台前的小板凳上炒着菜，滚烫的油点溅到她的手上，她也不敢出声，她生怕惊动了病床上的妈妈!踮着的小脚无数次踢翻了小板凳，从灰尘中爬起的她甚至还来不及擦干眼角的泪水就开始了

一个人要想懂得法律，要遵纪守法，必须从孝道做起。而且从小时候就要养成尊敬长辈的好习惯。比如：上学时坐在公交车上，见到行动不方便的人要主动让座，见到老师要主动问好，见到老人过马路，要主动牵这老人过马路。在家主动给家长倒水，帮忙做家务。父母叫我们做什么，我们就做什么，不能跟父母顶嘴。不乱花父母辛辛苦苦赚来的钱。只要做到孝敬长辈，就是一个遵纪守法的人。如果做不到，将会遭到人人的唾骂。更严重的，还会遭到法律的严惩。

如果我们不从孝道做起，就会像街上的一些不三不四的下三滥一样，天天去泡网吧，好不容易找得一份工作，得钱少，还不认真做，又被开除，有的人不服，就对老板动粗。没有钱了，就去抢、偷或者勒索人、恐吓人。有时候如果哪些人不小心碰对他们一点点，他们就会一个耳光扇过去。在家跟父母顶嘴，有时父母托他们去少管所，他们会逃回来，然后向父母报仇。有时候被抓了，还“泼妇骂街”，整天想怎么去偷钱。还穿着破破烂烂的衣服，做不三不四的发型。
