These units have introduced me to a variety of topics and helped me improve mylanguage skills. In this essay, I will share my thoughts and experiences from these two units.In Unit One, we learned about everyday activities and routines. We talked about the simple present tense and how to use it correctly in sentences. I found this unit very useful because it helped me improve my grammar skills. I also enjoyed learning new vocabulary related to daily activities such as brushing teeth, doing homework, and watching TV. Practicing conversations about our daily routines in class was also very helpful for me to improve my spoken English.In Unit Two, we studied different types of food and beverages. We learned how to describe food using adjectives and how to order food at a restaurant. I enjoyed listening to dialogues where people talked about their favorite dishes and learning about different cuisines from around the world. I also liked the reading passages about healthy eating habits and the importance of a balanced diet.One of the most memorable experiences I had in these units was when we did a role play activity in class. We were divided into groups and each group had to act out a scene at a restaurant. It was fun pretending to be a customer and ordering food from a menu. This activity not only helped me practice myspeaking and listening skills but also improved my confidence in using English in real-life situations.Another aspect of these units that I appreciated was the interactive exercises in the workbook. The exercises were challenging but also fun to do. I especially liked thefill-in-the-blank and matching activities as they helped me review the new vocabulary and grammar structures we learned in class.Overall, I have had a great experience in sixth grade so far, especially in Unit One and Two of the English textbook. I feel more confident in my English skills and I am excited to continue learning and improving in the future units. I am grateful for my teachers' guidance and support throughout this journey. Thank you for reading about my experience and I hope you enjoyed it!篇3Unit 1: My classHello everyone, I am a student from Class 6 Grade 6.

Handout for Class 5, 6November 9, 2013Lecture 4 DescriptionPart I. Read the following passages and pay more attention to how to describe a person, a scene, etc.1. CharactersA Womanish ManIf a man's personal appearance, when he is out of his dressing-room, and when he has passed forty, can be accepted as a safe guide to his time of life –which is more than doubtful- Mr. Fairlie’s age, when I saw him, might have been reasonably computed at over fifty and under sixty years. His beardless face was thin, worn, and transparently pale, but not wrinkled, his nose was high and hooked, his eyes were of a dim greyish blue, large, prominent, and rather red round the rims of the eyelids; his hair was scanty soft to look at, and of that light sandy colour which is the last to disclose its own changes towards grey. He was dressed in a dark frock-coat of some substance much thinner than cloth, and in waistcoat and trousers of spotless white. His feet were effeminately small, and were clad in buff-coloured silk stockings and little womanish bronze-leather slippers. Two rings adorned his white delicate hands, the value of which even my inexperienced observation detected to be all but priceless.Upon the whole, he had a frail, languidly-fretful, over-refined look –something singularly and unpleasantly delicate in its association with a man and, at the same time, something which could by no possibility have looked natural and appropriate if it had been transferred to the personal appearance of a woman. (Wilkie Collins. The Woman in White)A Physically Weak but Mental Strong WomanShe was so thin that her small bones seemed ready to come through her white skin. Seen from a distance, romping about the back yard with her child, she looked like a little girl, for her waist was unbelievably tiny and she had practically no figure. She had no bust and her hips were as flat as little Beau's and as she had neither the pride nor the good sense to sew ruffles in the bosom of her basque or pads on the back of her corsets, her thinness was very obvious. Like her body, her face was too thin and too pale and her silky brows, arched and delicate as a butterfly's feelers, stood out too blackly against her colorless skin. In her small face, her eyes were too large for beauty, the dark smudges under them making them appear enormous, but the expression in them had not altered since the days of her unworried girlhood. War and constant pain and hard work had been powerless against their sweet tranquility. They were the eyes of a happy woman, a women around whom storms might blow without ever ruffling the serene core of her being. (Magaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind)A Portrait of a Rich ManHe was a rich man; banker, merchant, manufacturer, and what not. A big, loud man with stare, and a metallic laugh. A man made out of a coarse material, which seemed to have been stretched to make so much of him. A man with a great puffed head and forehead, swelled veins in his temples, and such a strained skin to his face that it seemed to hole his eyes open, and lift his eyebrows up. A man with a pervading appearance on him of being inflated like a balloon, and ready to start. A man who could never sufficiently vaunt himself a self-made man. A man who was always proclaiming, through that brassy speaking-trumpet of voice of his, his old ignorance and his old poverty . A man who was the Bully of humility. (Charles Dickens, Hard Times)2. Expressions and emotionsAn Unexpected NewsIt was almost too much happiness to bear. Oliver felt stunned and stupefied by the unexpected intelligence; he could not weep, or speak, or rest. He had scarcely the power of understanding anything that had passed, until, after a long ramble in the quiet evening air, a burst of tears came to his relief, and he seemed to awaken, all at once, to a full sense of the joyful change that had occurred, and the almost insupportable load of anguish which had been taken from his breast. (Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist)3. SceneryHappy MorningThe town was glad with morning light; places that had shown ugly and distrustful all night long, now wore a smile; and sparkling sunbeams dancing on chamber windows, and twinkling through blind and curtain before sleepers' eyes, shed light even into dreams, and chased away the shadows of the night. Birds in hot rooms, covered up close and dark, felt it was morning, and chafed and grew restless in their little cells; bright-eyed mice crept back to their tiny homes and nestled timidly together; the sleek house-cat, forgetful of her prey, sat winking at the rays of sun starting through keyhole and cranny in the door, and longed for her stealthy run and warm sleek bask outside. The nobler beasts confined in dens stood motionless behind their bars, and gazed on fluttering boughs and sunshine peeping through some little window, with eyes in which old forests gleamed —then trod impatiently the track their prisoned feet had worn –and stopped and gazed again. Men in their dungeons stretched their cramped cold limbs and cursed the stone that no bright sky could warm. The flowers that sleep by night, opened their gentle eyes and turned them to the day. The light, creation's mind, was everywhere, and all things owned its power. (Charles Dickens, The Old Curiosity Shop)A Beautiful Summer EveningAt this time of summer evening, the cows are trooping down from the hills, lowing and with their bells tinkling, to the old town, with its old moats, and gates, and spires, and chestnut trees, with long blue shadows stretching over the grass; the sky and the river below flame in crimson and gold; and the moon is already out, looking pale towards the sunset. The sun sinks behind the great castle-crested mountains, the night falls suddenly, the river grows darker and darker, lights quiver in it from the windows in the old ramparts, and twinkle peacefully in the villages under the hills on the opposite shore. (William Makepeace Thackeray, Vanity Fairy)The Beauty MoonlightIn passing Field-head on her return, its moonlight beauty attracted her glance and stayed her step an instant. Tree and hall rose peaceful under the night sky and clear, full orb: pearly paleness gilded the building, mellow brown gloom bosomed it round, shadows of deep green brooded above its oak-wreathed roof. The broad pavement in front shone pale also; it gleamed as if some spell had transformed the dark granite to glistening Parian. On the silvery space slept two sable shadows, thrown, sharply defined, from two human figures. . . (Charlotte Bronte, Shirley)The Colourful CountryTo the red country and part of the grey country of Oklahoma the last rains came gently, and they did not cut the scarred earth. The ploughs crossed and recrossed the rivulet marks. The last rains lifted the corn quickly and scattered weed colonies and grass along the sides of the roads so that the grey country and the dark red country began to disappear under a green cover. In the last part of May the sky grew pale and the clouds that had hung in high puffs for so long in the spring were dissipated. The sun flared down on the growing corn day after day until a line of brown spread along the edge of each green bayonet. The clouds appeared, and went away, and in a while they did not try and more. The weeds grew darker green to protect themselves and they did not spread any more. The surface of the earth crusted, a thin hard crust, and as the sky became pale, so the earth became pale, pink in the red country and white in the grey country. (John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath)The Broad Steely SeaAt last he reached the summit, and a wide and novel prospect burst upon him with an effect almost like that of the Pacific upon Balboa's gaze. The broad steely sea, marked only by faint lines, which had a semblance of being etched thereon to a degree not deep enough to disturb its general evenness, stretched the whole width of his front and round to the right, where, near the town and port of Budmouth, the sun bristled down upon it, and banished all colour, to substitute in its place a clear oily polish. Nothing moved in sky, land, or sea, except a frill of milk white foam along the nearer angles of the shore, shreds of which licked the contiguous stones like tongues. (Thomas Hardy, Far from the Madding Crowd)Flood of RiverThe river was very full. It swept silent and insidious under the bridge, travelling in a soft body. There hadbeen a great deal of rain. On the river levels were flat gleams of flood water. The sky was grey, with glisten of silver here and there. In Wilford churchyard the dahlias were sodden with rain—wet black crimson balls. No one was on the path that went along the green river meadow, along the elm-tree colonnade. There was the faintest haze over the silvery-dark water and the green meadow-bank, and the elm-trees that were spangled with gold. The river slid by in a body, utterly silent and swift, intertwning among itself like some subtle, complex creature. (D. H. Lawrence, Sons and Lovers)A Keen WindIt was a bitter day. A keen wind was blowing, and rushed against them fiercely; bleaching the hard ground, shaking the white frost from the trees and hedges, and whirling it away like dust. But little cared Kit for weather. There was a freedom and freshness in the wind, as it came howling by, which, let it cut never so sharp, was welcome. As it swept on with its cloud of frost, bearing down the dry twigs and boughs and withered leaves, and carrying them away pell-mell. It seemed as though some general sympathy had got abroad, and everything was in a hurry like themselves. The harder the gusts, the better progress they appeared to make. It was good thing to go struggling and fighting forward, vanquishing them one by one; to watch them driving up, gathering strength and fury as they came along; to bend for a moment, as they whistled past; and then to look back and see them speed away; their hoarse noise dying in the distance, and the stout trees cowering down before them. (Charles Dickens, The Old Curiosity Shop)The Different Manner of SpringsSprings are not always the same. In some years, April bursts upon our Virginia hills in one prodigious leap and all the stage is filled at once, whole choruses of tulips, arabesques of forsythia, cadenzas of flowering plum. The trees grow leaves overnight.In other years, spring tiptoes in. It pauses, overcome by shyness, like my grandchild at the door, peeping in, ducking out of sight, giggling in the hallway. "I know you're out there," I cry. "Come in!" And April slips into our arms. (James J. Kilpatrick, Spring)The Character of AutumnAutumn is honest; it does not pretend to be heaven. Yet almost everybody recognizes that the season's character transcends those familiar bracing days, crystal nights, bigger stars, vaulted skies, fluted twilights, harvest moons, frosted pumpkins and that riotous foliage that impels whole traffic jams of leaf freaks up into New England (even though Columnist Russell Baker has reminded them that "If you've seen 1 billion leaves, you've not seen them all." What is not widely recognized is that autumn is richly enhanced simply by what it is not. Specifically, it is not summer, winter or spring. (Frank Trippett, A Season for Hymning and Hawing)TyphoonThe typhoon came out of the sea as a deep hollow roar. Then it appeared as a monstrous black cloud. The cloud seemed a thing alive, shaping itself this way or that, torn by contending winds. However it might stretch to right or left, it continued to spread upward and toward, east and west. The day darkened to twilight and the dreaded roar of sound came rushing toward me from out of the depths. I crouched behind my rock and waited.At first, there was no rain, only the wild winds and the tossing sea. An hour earlier, the sea had been calm and blue. Now, it was black and streaked with crests of white foam. When the rain came it was all of a sudden, as though the clouds had opened and spilled. A curtain of rain fell between mountain and sea, a solid sheet of water three feet away from me. The grass and brush on the mountainside flattened under the wind and the rain. I was surrounded by the madness, the unreason, of uncontrolled, undisciplined energy ....The storm spent itself at last. The wind dispersed, the rain slackened to a drizzle and mist, the cloud fell apart and the sun shone through. I came out from my shelter and surveyed the ruin left behind. Trees had fallen on the lower levels, gullies were dug into the earth between the rocks, the very grass and underbrush lay flat and exhausted. (Pearl Buck, 242 words)。

量的泄漏;
均可见,但不允许有滴落或形成连续的液膜;
3. 防滴泄漏(Class C):阀门密封面上的泄漏可以出现滴落,但不允许形成连续的液膜;
上会形成连续的液膜,但不允许有可见喷流;
上会出现可见喷流,但不允许有可见大面积喷流;
