TranscriptSlide 1 (Introduction):Time: 15 seconds (0:00-0:15)Say:Ladies and gentlemen, good morning! I'm Wesley from the University of Science and Technology of China. It is a great honour for me to address you on this special occasion. Today I will give a presentation with the title “Bionic Contact Lens”.Slide 2 (Introduction):Time: 30 seconds (0:15-0:45)Say:Before I start my presentation, let me ask you a question. Have you ever wished that you were a superman? A superman with superior vision is able to see things very far away and has super memory that means you can never forget. Besides, a person can zoom in front of the scene with zoom capability. In other words, you could see the world around in front of your eyes as seen by protagonist in science fiction movies like Terminator and Robocop.Slide 3 (Introduction):This is now possible using Bioniccontact lens !Bionic Contact LensOne of the smallest deviceWe could simply ‘BLINK’ and than we will be onlineThe lens have infrared lights to create a virtual displayAppearance description:Time: 40 seconds (0:45-1:25) Say: This is now possible using Bionic contact lens! We have established one of the smallest device. With this device, we would simply ‘BLINK’ and we will be online. It’s already more science than fiction. Especially, bionic contact lenses are being developed to provide a virtual display that could have a variety of uses from assisting the visually impaired to the video game industry. What ’s more, the lens will eventually have functional electronic circuits and infrared lights to create a virtual display.Slide 4 (Introduction):“The eye of the beholder ”⏹The beginning of the Computer Human Interface⏹It would tell you what is relevant and what to ignore⏹Translation between languages at any timeComputer Human InterfaceTime: 35 seconds (1:25-2:00) Say: In next 20 years, internet will be on our contact lens as the picture shows. Bionic contact lens is this kind of device that could give a new meaning to the phrase “The eye of the beholder”. It could be the beginning of the Computer Human Interface of the future and your smart lens would tell you what is relevant and what to ignore. In addition, if someone speaks in Chinese, no problem, Bionic contact lens will translate Chinese into English subtitles underneath your picture.Slide 5 (Body):1.Generation principleConvert pieces of plastic and polymer to a functional system Antenna picks upradio frequencyenergyChip harveststhe energyTransform it intovoltage Transmitinformationdirectly on thelensTime: 40 seconds (2:00-2:40)Say:First of all, let's see how it works! Firstly, bionic contact lens converts pieces of plastic and polymer to a functional system that resemble a kind of complexity in cellular form, and antenna picks up radio frequency energy that is transmitted by an antenna elsewhere. Then, while chip harvests the energy and transforms it into voltage that can power the LED. Finally, voltage works to display directly on the lens that would transmit information directly on the lens.Slide 6 (Body):Time: 25 seconds (2:40-3:05)Say:Any advanced device has its core technology, including bionic contact lens. Bionic contact lens contains many of the most advanced technologies, such as capillary forces, Antenna, Chip, Fresnel lenses and so on. Among them, the core technology can be summarized as the following four aspects.Slide 7 (Body):Time: 50 seconds (3:05-3:55)Say:Next, let's look at the first aspect. Micro fabrication technique is used for image formation. We built the circuits from layers of metal only a few nanometers thick, about one thousandth the width of a human hair, and constructed light-emitting diodes one third of a millimeter across. Simultaneously, array of LED pixels is used in lens to form an active display. Therefore, the shape of each tiny component dictates which piece it can attach to, and a micro fabrication technique known as self-assembly.Slide 8 (Body):2)EnergyFirstly: Antenna picks up radiofrequency wavesThen: Turn them into energyFinally: Chip harvests the energyand transforms it into voltageTime: 40 seconds (3:55-4:35)Say:For the second aspect, Since this device is very small, the supply of energy is a key technical problem. As shown in this flowchart. Firstly, antenna picks up radio frequency waves and then turn them into energy that is transmitted by an antenna elsewhere. Finally, while chip harvests the energy and transforms it into voltage that can power the LED. The voltage is also a very small laser that can be used to ensure that the image is in focus at all times and eliminate the need for micro lenses.Slide 9 (Body):3) Virtual display technology⏹Using a rasterdisplay⏹Displayed on theretina of the eyeVirtual Display ImageTime: 45 seconds (4:35-5:20)Say:Then, the third aspect is virtual display technology. A virtual retinal display, also known as a retinal scan display or retinal projector, is a display technology that draws a raster display directly onto the retina of the eye. In bionic lens, the display is floating in front of the user using virtual display technology. Certainly, it is not possible to display an image over a solid angle from a point source unless the projection system can bypass the lenses within the eye.Slide 10 (Body):4)Image technologyImage qualityFresnel lensesImage managementPixel managementTime: 60 seconds (5:20-6:20)Say:Finally, the core technology is to say that Image technology. It is mainly related to these four points on the slide. In terms of Image quality , we overcome that obstacle by precisely adjusting the angle of incoming light emitted by diodes on the contact lens. For Fresnel lenses and Image management, we tackled the limitation of the minimum focal distance of the human eye by incorporating a set of Fresnel lenses into the device. For Pixel management, we have provided the first proof-of-concept technology demonstrations for producing multipixel and in-focus images.Slide 11 (Body):Time: 45 seconds (6:20-7:05)Say:In the previous section, we have just talked about the generation of bionic contact lens and its core technology, then we talk about what are the critical applications. As shown on the slide, it consists mainly of six points. For example, zooming in on and out of distant objects- It means we would be able to zoom in on something far away or to look at something very close; And personalized wide-screen TV- It means the combination of contact lens with embedded optoelectronic and electronic devices could well be the beginning of the Computer Human Interface of the future. As time is limited, the following four points I will not explain in detail.Slide 12 (Body):Time: 40 seconds (7:05-7:45)Say:Although the application of good prospects for bionic contact lens, there are still several technical bottlenecks. First challenge is how to attach the electronic components thinner than a human hair. The next problem is building the lenses is a challenge because materials that are safe for use in the body are delicate. What’s more, how to focus on image quality and how to give power supply are both the big obstacle. In addition to these points, there are other problems we need to work hard to resolve.Slide 13 (Conclusion):Time: 25 seconds (7:45-8:10)Say:As I end,the era of bionic contact lens would soon come. According to the introduction of the previous point of view, bionic contact lens with advanced core technology has a very good application prospects. However, there are still some bottlenecks to be resolved because of the technical problems so far.Slide 14 (Conclusion):Time: 35 seconds (8:10-8:45)Say:In short, bionic contact lens has a cross-era significance. One of the most important is bionic contact lens could be the beginning of the Computer Human Interface of the future when we could surf the Web at any time or keep the information connection all the time. Furthermore, a person could record their entire life just by blinking or possibly connect their contact lenses with a wireless device, and we would witness the day when everyone has the perfect vision.Slide 15 (Conclusion):Time: 15 seconds (8:45-9:00)Say:At the end of the report, I want to give a brief account of our future work. As shown here, we are based on the three main directions for further improvement of the bionic contact lens.Thank you. Are there any questions?。
学术交流英语演讲稿篇一:学术交流英语PPT讲稿30sGood afternoon, everyone. The title of the paper is Visible Microspectroscopy for Diagnosis of Gastric Precancer. Its author is Liu Yong from Department of Physics, Zhao qing University. It’s presented by Li Mengfan from CAS, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science. You can know more about cancer and the new method to diagnose gastric precancer after reading this paper.58sCancer is very common among human beings. It is mostly related to the habit of the patients, the job, the environment, the drinking water and the soil matters, too. If a person is affected by certain bacteria, he may also get gastric cancer. Bad habits like smoking, drinking, mental tension, eating improperly and living irregularly increase the possibility of having cancer. Before specific treatment, the doctor should make sure whether the patient has cancer and where the focus is. The method used to diagnose cancer and locate thecancerous area is very important.42sBefore we design a method to diagnose cancer, we should know more about cancer like where it starts and what it causes. Firstly, about 90% of the human’s cancer start from the epithelial layer of skin, internal organs and tubular organs in the body. Secondly , cancer usually accompanied by the changes of organization structure in the cell level. So, the changes which appear in the structure of organization and chemical composition provides important evidence for diagnosis of precancer.42sNormal method to diagnose gastric precancer is Reflectance spectroscopy. It’s very prospective in early diagnosis of cancer and is commonly used these years. One of the most common technology is diffuse reflectance visible spectroscopy, it can acquire the approximate information of the target tissue. This method is low cost, fast and non-invasive, it provides important means for diagnosis of malignant damage oforganization of human organs. However, there are also some disadvantages of this method which need to be improved.55sThis is the system of diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, the light beam emitted from the tungsten halogen lamp is guided into the integral ball by the source fiber. The light come out of the integral ball irradiate the standard board, the reflected light of the standard board is treated as the background. Then take target tissue substitute for the standard board, and scan the reflected light of it. The reflected light spectra of the gastric tissue mucosal layer and the submucosa layer is guided into the spectrometer by the collector fiber. The spectrometer and the computer is connected by USB, spectrum can be processed using computer.36sFirst of all, only average visible spectrum of the target tissue can be acquired, it means that the docters cannot make out the location of the cancerous tissue precisely. What’s more, the device is easy to be affected by changes of optical path length induced by different set-up of prober and the variation of hemoglobin concentration due to the pressure between prober and tissue.50sTo avoid the problems of the commonly used techniques, diffuse reflectance visible spectroscopy, scientists do a lot of researches to find out a new way to diagnose precancer. The new method is Visible Microspectroscopy. The visible microspectroscopic measurement device is accomplished on the basis of fiber confocal microscope, its 3-d imaging principle devote to the optical tomography ability of the system. The visible microspectrum of cancerous and normal tissue can be analysed and contrasted, so it’s more useful than the normal method.45sThis is the structure of the visible microspectroscopy device .The fiber coupler can separate the lighting beamsfrom the signal beam. The two lens can focus the light on the tissue ,The 3-D electronic controlled platform move along the direction of optic axis, so that the device can acquire the visible microspectroscopy signal of the sample in different depth, precisely locate the boundary of the cancerous signal measured from different position can be stored in the computer after analysed by the spectrometer.31sThis is the spectrum chart of the normal tissue and cancerous tissue, they are analyzed by the spectrometer before being transmitted to the computer. The upper chart is the visible spectrum of normal tissue, it is regular. Contrasting to this, in the nether chart, the spectrum of the cancerous area shows that the strength of reflected light grows as the wave length grows.49s篇二:大学生学术交流演讲稿演讲稿各位同学,老师大家好!我是。
学术报告英文演讲稿篇一:国际会议作报告英语发言稿Thank you, prof. ….My nameis …..I ' mfrom … I am very pleased to be here to join this forum. The topic of my presentation is properties of rapid construction materials for soil pavement of field airfield. As is shown in the picture, the main parts of my research are about soil pavement. My presentation will include these four parts:First, some background information about this research; second, the main work we have done; third, some conclusions we have got and the last: innovation and presentation of our published papers. Why I choose this item I think it can be illustrated from the following four parts. First, the existing quantity of airfields is still not sufficient and the airfields have many shortcomings especially in war time. Second, the complementary facilities, such as highway runways are far less than airfields, however, have more weakness. Third, a certain amount of field airfield is quite necessary considering some emergencies such as rescue and disaster relief. Forth, the field airfield can fill the void of airfield and they can be combined to be airfield network. The meaning and aim of this research contains three parts.Fast, convenient and validity, fast means the field airfield must be constructedas fast as possible, convenient means the construction should need the minimum equipment, labor and materials considering the actual construction condition, validity means the constructed airfield is able to support the operation of given aircraft in specifically time.Just like many other territories, the situation of the research is that the Army takes advanced line. The Army declares that they can reach to anywhere on the earth in 96 hours, the most important method for force projection is though aircraft, thus rapid construction of pavement is the key problem for rapid force transportation. The main work we have done can be summarized as four parts, materials choosing, scheme making, mechanical properties research and water-stable properties research. We choose two kinds of soils, which are got from Xi 'an, Shanxi province and Jiuquan, Gansu province separately. The sand from Ba River was considerate to investigate the influence of sand to the properties of stabilized soil. The chosen three kinds of powders are cement, lime and new-type stabilizer developed by Chang' an University. The principles in considering the function of 4 kings of fibers are referring different length, type and mixing them.On account of the time, I will make a brief description about the experiment scheme. In summary, three parts were proposed to distinguish the affecting factors in making experiment scheme. They are powder control, fiber control and other factors. Taking powder control for example, the dosage of cement is respectively 6%, 8%and 10%when the soil is stabilized only by cement, while the dosage of cement decrease to 3%, 5% and 7% when the lime is addicted to stabilized soil. The following two factors are stabilizer and sand.Six kinds of experiments were performed to investigate the influence of above factors to the mechanical properties of stabilized soil. The aim ofcompaction test is to find the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content. The aim of compression strength test is to determine the optimum dosage of cement, lime, powder stabilizer and fiber, meanwhile evaluating the performance of stabilized soil. The aim of splitting tension strength test is similar to compression strength test, the left picture is sample stabilized by cement, while the right picture is the sample stabilized by fiber and cement. The direct sheer is another important parameter in geotechnical engineering. It influences the foundation bearing capacity and many other properties especially for soil base and base course. The leftpicture shows the course of makingsample and the right picture shows the test process. The CBR test and rebound modulus test are referenced from highway test specification to evaluating the comprehensive capacities of each structure level of the pavement. For both the two tests, the left picture shows the course of making sample and the right picture shows the test process. What should be noted is that the number of sample is at least 6,the last result is the average value of these date got from test after eliminating the bad results.Four kinds of experiments were performed to investigate the influence of above factors to the water-stable properties of stabilized soil. The scouring test is not the stated experiment in current specification. It is performed by us through looking up large quantity of interrelated literature, and two different ways to carry out. The left picture shows the method of vibration table and the right picture shows the method of fatigue test instrument. Penetrant test refers to the experiment in relating concrete specification. The left picture shows the process of saturation, the right picture shows the test process.Cantabria test and other tests are all original experiments; they are used in stabilized soil for first time, here I will not developmy narrative. As regards the innovation, I think it throughout the whole research, including materials choosing, scheme making, mechanical and water-stable experiments. I think it can be drawled from the following keywords, such as soil choosing, sand, powders, fibers, and soon. Three main parts can be summarized. First, selecting two kinds of soils, three kinds of powders, several combinations; second, several kinds of fibers, different length and admixture; third, comprehensive experiments, test method and test instrument.篇二:英语学术演讲稿Good morning everyone. Welcome to my presentation. My name is …My major is mechanical engineering. The research direction of my team is the robot, so I 'lltalk something about applications of the teleoperator robot in our life with two examples. The main contents of my speech are the medical robot and the cooking robot.First of all, we should know what teleoperator robot is. Teleoperatorrobots are mainly used for various operations of non-industrial production, for example, the medical robot, the cooking robot andthe cleaning robot. Let ' s first see the medical robot. The main characteristics of the medical robot is remote control. The remote control lets people stride across the space-time barrier. It means that the doctor and the patient can be in different places, as is shown in the pictures. The patient is in Strasbourg while the surgeon is inNew York. The display screenprovides surgery scene to the surgeon. By operating the main operation terminal and inputting commands, doctors can control the robot to have surgery.Robots can also serve our daily life. Most of us may already know that the robot cooks in the university cafeteria of Beijing Jiaotong University. Weall think that it ' s very interesting. These pictures show us the process of the robot cooking. First, the chef puts raw materials into the robot, then choses the dish to cook in the display screen. Next, the robot starts tocook. In the cooking process, the chef follows the robot 's voice prompts to add spices. Just three minutes later, the robot pours the cooked dish into the prepared basin. The robot cooking not only takes less time but also uses less gas. It can save fifty percent of gas.As the above examples allude, teleoperator robots provideservice for mankind and make our life more convenient. Meanwhile they save us a lot of time and sources of energy. I believe in the future teleoperator robots will be more widely used and provide betterservice to our life. Thats all. Thank you.

Ladies and Gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon. It is a great pleasure to stand before you today and address the theme of "Embracing Diversity: A Catalyst for Innovation and Progress." As we navigate through the complexities of the modern world, the importance of diversity cannot be overstated. It is a topic that touches upon various aspects of our lives, from personal relationships to professional endeavors. In this speech, I will arguethat embracing diversity is not only a moral imperative but also acrucial driver of innovation and progress.Let us begin by defining what we mean by "diversity." Diversity encompasses a wide range of characteristics, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, socioeconomic status, and more. These characteristics contribute to the rich tapestry of human experience, and it is through the interplay of these diverseperspectives that we can achieve true progress. One of the most compelling reasons to embrace diversity is the role it plays in fostering innovation. Innovation is the lifeblood of any successful society, and it thrives in environments where diverse viewpoints are valued and encouraged. When people from different backgrounds come together, they bring with them unique experiences, knowledge, and skills. This diversity of thought can lead to the identification of new problems, the generation of creative solutions, and the development of groundbreaking ideas.Consider, for example, the tech industry. Companies like Google, Apple, and Microsoft have recognized the importance of diversity and have made concerted efforts to increase the representation of underrepresented groups. As a result, these companies have not only improved their corporate culture but have also experienced a surge in innovation. The inclusion of diverse perspectives has led to the development of products and services that cater to a broader range of users, ultimately driving market growth and success. Moreover, embracing diversity can lead to more effective problem-solving. When teams are diverse, they are better equipped to tackle complexissues because they can draw upon a wider range of perspectives and expertise. This collaborative approach to problem-solving can lead to more comprehensive and well-rounded solutions. For instance, the healthcare industry has seen significant advancements due to the diverse backgrounds of its professionals. By incorporating knowledge from various medical fields and cultural practices, healthcare providers can offer more personalized and effective treatments to patients from different walks of life.In addition to fostering innovation and effective problem-solving, embracing diversity has social and economic benefits. A diverse society is more resilient and adaptable, as it can draw upon the strengths ofits diverse population to overcome challenges. This resilience is particularly important in times of crisis, such as natural disasters or economic downturns. Moreover, a diverse workforce can lead to increased productivity and economic growth. Studies have shown that companies with diverse workforces tend to outperform their less diverse counterparts, as they can tap into a wider talent pool and leverage the unique skills and perspectives of their employees. However, embracing diversity is not without its challenges. One of the main obstacles is the presence of unconscious bias. Unconscious bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. To overcome this challenge, it is essential for individuals and organizations to engagein continuous learning and self-reflection. This involves recognizing our own biases, educating ourselves about different cultures and perspectives, and actively working to promote inclusivity and fairness.Another challenge is the need for cultural competence. Cultural competence refers to the ability to effectively and appropriately interact with people from diverse cultures. Organizations must invest in training programs that help their employees develop cultural competence, so they can work effectively with people from various backgrounds. By fostering an environment that values and respects cultural differences, organizations can create a more harmonious and productive workplace. In conclusion, embracing diversity is a multifaceted endeavor that can lead to significant benefits for individuals, organizations, and society as a whole. By fostering innovation, promoting effective problem-solving, and driving economic growth, diversity can be a catalyst for progress. However, it is important to recognize the challenges that come with embracing diversity and to actively work to overcome them. Through education, self-reflection, and a commitment to inclusivity, we can create a more diverse and equitable world for all.Thank you for your attention. I welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding the topic of embracing diversity. Let us continue the conversation and strive towards a more inclusive future.[End of speech]。
