5. in a nutshell 简言之"nutshell"原为"坚果壳",又指"极小的容器",故 "in a nutshell" 这个副词短语的意思是"简言之"。例:Bob told us in a nutshell what happened in the managers' meeting.(Bob简略地告诉我们经理们开会的情形。)

6. growth sector 成长领域这个经济学上的名词是指经济成长特别快速的领域, "sector"是"区域;部门"的意思。例:The leisure and entertainment industry is a growth sector in Taiwan.

商务英语谈判请求说明常用表达

在会议讨论中,要求别人举例说明观点、表达己见、请别人继续发言,都应使用一些正式场合的礼貌表达。下面就为大家提供一些这类句型,以供参考。

A. 对答如流的能力,来自于充分的准备。

商务谈判中惯用的八个单词详细讲解

关于商业经营中的诚信原则,中国自古就有“货真价实,童叟无欺”的八字经典,有趣的是,在英文中也有一个八字真言:NO TRICKS,从字面看来,与中文的意义非常相近。不过“NO TRICKS”并不仅仅代表字面的意思,每一个字母还有更深一层的含义——谈判中的八种力。

谈判能力在每种谈判种都起到重要作用,无论是商务谈判、外交谈判,还是劳务谈判,在买卖谈判中,双方谈判能力的强弱差异决定了谈判结果的差别。对于谈判中的每一方来说,谈判能力都来源于八个方面,就是 NO TRICKS 每个字母所代表的八个单词——need, options, time, relationships,investment, credibility, knowledge, skills.

一、NO TRICKS中的“N”代表需求(need)

对于买卖双方来说,谁的需求更强烈一些?如果买方的需要较多,卖方就拥有相对较强的谈判力,你越希望卖出你的产品,买方就拥有较强的谈判力。

二、NO TRICKS中的“O”代表选择(options)

如果谈判不能最后达成协议,那么双方会有什么选择?如果你可选择的机会越多,对方认为你的产品或服务是唯一的或者没有太多选择余地,你就拥有较强的谈判资本。

三、T代表时间(time)

主要是指谈判中可能出现的有时间限制的紧急事件,如果买方受时间的压力,自然会增强卖方的的谈判力。

四、NO TRICKS中的“R”代表关系(relationship)

如果与顾客之间建立强有力的关系,在同潜在顾客谈判时就会拥有关系力。但是,也许有的顾客觉得卖方只是为了推销,因而不愿建立深入的关系,这样。在谈判过程中将会比较吃力。

五、I代表投资(investment)

在谈判过程中投入了多少时间和精力?为此投入越多、对达成协议承诺越多的一方往往拥有较少的谈判力。

六、C代表可信性(credibility)

如果潜在顾客对产品可信性也是谈判力的一种,如果推销人员知道你曾经使用过某种产品,而他的产品具有价格和质量等方面的优势时,无疑会增强卖方的可信性,但这一点并不能决定最后是否能成交。

七、K代表知识(knowledge)

知识就是力量。如果你充分了解顾客的问题和需求,并预测到你的产品能如何满足顾客的需求,你的知识无疑增强了对顾客的谈判力。反之,如果顾客对产品拥有更多的知识和经验,顾客就有较强的谈判力。

八、S代表的是技能(skill)

这可能是增强谈判力最重要的内容了,不过,谈判技巧是综合的学问,需要广博的知识、雄辩的口才、灵敏的思维……

总之,在商业谈判中,应该善于利用“NO TRICKS”中的每中力,再加上NO TRICKS。

事半功倍:商务英语词汇积累举一反三

商务英语的学生都有一定的英语基础,但对有关商务的词汇、短语、句型掌握得不多,对商务英语语篇不熟悉,因此,首先应该从商务英语词汇等方面开始。

1、商务英语词汇

英语词汇多达几十万,并且词语表义较为灵活,对上下文的依赖也较大。如,"board"一词,本义为"木板",但在不同上下文中,可以表示"车"、"船"、"伙食"、"会议桌"、"委员会"等。而在商务英语中,"board"往往用来表示"董事会",如,"chairman or president of the board"(董事会主席或董事长);或者,它经常用在FOB (Free on Board,离岸价,船上交货价)价格术语中,意思是"船"。

在商务英语中,有着许多通过引申、转换、添加等手段而获得的有别于普通英语词义的具有"新义"的"旧词"。

例如:

literature 在普通英语中,它表示"文学";而在商务英语中,它则表示"printed matters, including leaflets, instruction, product catalogue, price list, etc. (文字宣传资料,诸如产品说明书、产品目录、价目表等)"。

例如:

In order to market our new product,we have printed fine literature.(为了推销新产品,我们印了精美的宣传资料。) claim 在普通英语中,它的意思是"要求,认领";而在商务英语中,它则表示"demand or request for a thing considered one’s due (索赔)"。

例如:
