RVSM
RVSM means reduce vertical separation minimum
The goal of RVSM is to reduce the vertical separation above flight level 8900m to flight level 12500m from 600m minimum to 300m minimum. Advantage：First，RVSM can increase the airspace capacity。Airline industry has developed dramatically these years。RVSM provides more flight levels。More flight level means more aircraft can be handled in the same amount of airspace。So it meets the need of the development of the airline industry。Second，air traffic control wants to provide quality services to the pilots。So RVSM can allow aircraft to safely fly more optimum profiles and gain fuel savings。
Disadvantages：RVSM can increase the risk during the work。Obviously，the separation can be reduced，but if the pilot has some misoperation，it will cause a terrible result。At the same time，more flight levels means more aircrafts，it also increases the workload of air traffic controllers。
Radar control and procedure control
The major difference between radar control and procedure control lies in
whether to use radar in the air traffic control。
Under the radar control，we can see the label of each aircraft on the radar screen，which contains the call sign，flight level ，ground speed and other information。We can monitor the dynamic activities of each aircraft and avoid some potential risks between aircrafts。
Compared with the procedure control，radar control also reduces the separation between a/c apparently。Under the procedure control，the information such as the flight level，position，fly heading and so on，only comes from the report of the flight crew。So the air traffic control is much too ineffective。
Though the radar control has brought a lot of convenience，it also means more challenges for the air traffic controller。The separation is reduced，the airspace becomes more and more complicated。It is a complex series of tasks for the air traffic controllers。

There are five military airports around the HRB Taiping International airport。So efficient co-operation between Civil and Military organizations is a critical element for safety。But the air force has taken charge of the whole sky。We are not equal。They will give a great number of restrictions to the civil aviation。For example，if the airplane want to divert for some serious weather，we will make several callings to get the
permission from the military。It is inefficient and dangerous。

In my opinions，the gender is not a problem。Male and female controllers can do this job better。Each one has its own characteristics。Just like tea and coffee。For female controllers，they are sensitive and careful，so they can find some potential risks between aircrafts。The female controllers are good at communicating and expressing。In addition，they have
more considerations about pilots，so their instructions will give pilots a comfortable flight environment。For male controllers，they can keep calm and cool when facing difficulties and emergencies。They can work under pressure and prefer to facing Challenge。It is significant for ATC。

The air traffic control is a 24-hour a day business。Controllers work in shifts。It is an exciting，great job and sometimes it is a hectic work。Controllers need confidence and clear mind，because they deal with hundreds of lives。
Air traffic controllers are widely recognized as an occupational group
which has to cope with a highly demanding job that invo
lves a complex series of tasks，requiring high level of knowledge and expertise，combined with high levels of responsibility，not only with regard to risking lives，but also the high economic costs of aeronautical activities。
工作性质
The operating management center is a monitor center and a coordinating center for dealing with flight conflicts，and it also organizes and supports domestic and foreign special flights。It is a commanding center for handling emergencies and a distributing center for the operational information of our civil aviation and a decision-making center for operating coordination as well。The office of operating is responsible for the real-time monitoring of the civil aviation operations of the whole country，and also undertakes and approves the applications for flights of business and general aviation。It is the key unit of OMC to conduct operation monitoring。
Because of the nature of the work for me in the future，I have no chance to have an opportunity to get a microphone to instruct aircrafts before the radar screen。You know that I have graduated from CAUC。So I have
studied ATC for 4 years。And I have heard a lot of incidents and emergencies from teachers。The real ATC is mysterious for me。So this opportunity to study in HRB is great for me。I will treasure this chance and learn more control skills。
爱好
I prefer listening to the pop music。Such as rhythm blues ，R&B，jazz and so on。My favorite pop star are Beyonce and Shakira。Some of their songs can relax myself。They can calm me down。Such as halo and incredible。Some of songs are dynamic，which can give me passion and motion to study and work。Such as irreplaceable and whenever whatever。It is a good method to learn English。Compared with memorizing English words and reading articles，listening to the pop music is very interesting。
I can learn the new words from the lyric。The pronunciation is very native from the singers。And there are a great amount of pronounce skills，such as plosion and read-though。
Watching American TV series is another good method to learn English。Such as desperate housewives，friends and prison break。For one thing，we can learn a lot of native dialog from series。We can also practice our listening abilities。For another，we can known many customs of foreign countries。It is of great significance to communicate with foreigners。

In the HRB ACC，there are two seats。One seat has taken the microphone
to instruct the airplanes and monitor the flight conditions。The other seat has made the flight plans of the flyover flights，coordinate with other control sectors and air force military。
1. Are you an ACC controller or a tower controller?
I am a tower controller; actually, we command tower control and approach control in combination. We are responsible for the flight operations below 6000 meters, even including ground movements, such as pushback, engine sta
rtup, taxing, sometimes; we do play a role as a ground controller, it seems that we are really traffic policemen. As an ATC, We must have story sense of responsibility. Especially when we are on duty, we must concentrate on the radar screen and provide adequate separations away the departing and arriving a/c in all direction.
As the rapid development of civil aviation, the flight quantity increases sharply. We need to adjust ourselves to meet the new changes.
2 are there any differences nowadays?
Surely. We can not deny that everything takes on a new look in our daily work. Our workroom becomes narrower because more and more
advanced equipment were put into use, they are really helpful, and however, we depend on them to a great extent. At the same time, we are requested to receive the on-the job trainings in order to improve our skills. It is terrible to lag behind.

I take pride in being an ATC. I deeply love my job. I can’t help being excited after work. However. It’s not easy to play a role as an excellent ATC. We should know all kinds of knowledge as much as possible. We must keep calm in every situation, especially in emergencies.so we need to study and learn from the others. There is no trivial[‘trivi?l] 琐碎的cases , we have to care about every detail, that is to say, the detail is the key to success.

First of all. I want to sincerely thank my family for their understand and support. you know. We are not only an Air traffic controller. We are also husband, farther and son. 1 Do you like studying English ?
I like studying english .But I cann’t find a shortcut to reach a higher level.Different use of grammar and tense always makes me confuse.
2 Do you think English is important in radio communication nowadays? Yes I do.With the development of civil aviation of china ,more and more foreign aircraft fly in the airspace of china ,it is a challenge for the ATCs to handle the normal situation and abnormal situation in English.So I think English is really important in radio communication nowadays.
3 How do you think about AETS(aviation English test)
On the one hand the AETS is the pressure for us.On the other hand through the test,we can improve the English level.
4 What do you think is the most important in studying English? Grammar, vocabulary, listening practice, or oral practice?
For ATCs ,grammar is not important.The ability in listening and talking skill is the most important.
5 Do you have the experience of studying abroad ?
N o ,I haven’t the experience of studying abroad.
6 Do you have some special methods to study English ?
1) No stop. At least 10 minutes one day,esp on mornings.
2) Speak sth accurately.
3) Speak in different ways.such as read newspapers,listen t
o the radio,watch movies or go to attent the lecture.
4) We had better learn by heart as many sentence patterns as we can.
7 What level have you reached in English ?
I passed CET(college English text ) bank 4 and PETS3(published English text system).
8 Do you have some advice about AETS?
The test is alittle difficult for me.But it is helpful for all the controller.I hope THE CAAC not only urge us by the text,but also invest much manpower and material resources. For example:
They can take full responsibility for all English study in night-school,or send the controllers to taking regular training courses in CAUC.
9 Do you think English is more important than Chinese in the world nowadays? why ?
English and Chinese are the same important in the world nowadays. Chinese is the most number of people to use in the world.It becomes more and more widely.English is spoken all over the world today.
With the development of civil aviation of china ,more and more foreign aircraft fly in the airspace of china ,it is a challenge for the ATCs to handle the normal situation and abnormal situation in English.So I think English is really important in radio communication nowadays.
10 More and more young people choose to celebrate western festival ,how do you think about this?
11 Would you please introduce English training in your department to me?
We have English class four times each month.The main courses are listening practice and spoken English .We have four English instructors to help us study and English teacher from university to teach us.

I world like to join the training center.They will make a well conceived plan ,effective mothods and technology.so I can improve my English level in a short time .
