Is Learning English Good or Bad? With the advancement of globalization, more and more Chinese people are learning English, which makes much influence in on one side. Thus, is learning English is good or bad has become a hot topic to discuss. Some people, like CPPTT deputy, think that English language studies are “destructive”to Chinese education since schools are placing too much emphasis on English. Zhang Shuhua, the head of the Intelligence Research Committee, once said that many students with good academic performance have been blocked from universities because of poor English test scores in government news report. As the survey given by China Y outh Daily showed that 80% respondents polled agreed that there is a language crisis and Chinese skills are destroying and more than half blamed the emphasis on foreign language studies. However, other people do not support the opinion that English studies are destroying Chinese skills but beneficial to our nation. They think learning any language including English is advantageous in and of itself.
