高中英语语法虚拟语气教学:The subjunctive mood 厦门第十中学吕瑞珠 一、概述 本节课是高中英语语法教学课,授课内容为虚拟语气,授课对象是高三年学生。从呈现、加深记忆、巩固到实践并将语言项目运用于写作中并做适当的点评,大概需要两课时。但我这里着重阐述的是第一课时的教学内容、教学策略等。 通过本节语法教学课的学习,学生重新整合自己的有关虚拟语气的知识,复习已知的虚拟语气的表达形式如:I wish I could fly freely in the sky like a bird; It is high that you got up.等等,并学习新的表达形式如:The English teacher suggested that we should read the English newspaper every day; I would have passed the English exam if I had worker harder in the past 20 days.最为重要的是,学生在学习完虚拟语气的表达形式后,要在写作中运用。 虚拟语气在高中英语语法的难点之一,多数学生感到费解,因此也更需要老师的指导与相应的实践与运用,并且较好地掌握虚拟语气的表达形式,有助于扫除学生阅读过程中对个别句子的理解。 二、教学目标分析 1.知识与技能 1)复习学生已掌握的虚拟语气表达的句型: I wish I were… / I could … It is high time that you did your homework.. If I were you, I would… 2) 学习虚拟语气新的表达方式,尤其是if引导的虚拟条件状语从句,掌握与现在事实、与过去事实、与将来事实相反的三种虚拟语气的表达,特别是主句与从句时态的呈现;还有引导出的宾语从句需要运用虚拟语气的动词,如suggest, insist, propose, demand and so on. 3)培养学生运用所学知识表达自己的思想的能力。 2.过程与方法 1)引导学生在欣赏英文歌曲An Angel的情景教学过程中,开启对虚拟语气表达已有的知识记忆。

虚拟语气(上) 一、虚拟条件句 一般来讲,英语中的虚拟语气分为两大体系:一是表示与事实相反的或假想的情形,通常由if引导,叫做“非真实条件句”,或者叫 “虚拟条件句”;另一个体系是在名词从句中使用虚拟语气,表示建 议、命令或要求等语气,这是一个完全不同于非真实条件句的虚拟的 结构形式。虚拟语气的重点和难点都集中在虚拟条件句中。 1.虚拟条件句的“两时三类” 虚拟条件句分为“两类三时”,两种类型有:假设条件句和事实相反句。三时:即是对将来、现在和过去这三种时间的虚拟。假设条 件句一般用在将来或现在可能性不大的情形,而过去已是事实,故不 使用此情形。事实相反句一般用作现在或过去,表达与事实相违背的 情形,而将来还未发生,故不适应于此情形。 2.虚拟条件句的谓语变化必背 虚拟的时间主句的谓语形式(Z)IF从句的谓语形式(C)将来(j)Zj:would(could,might)+do Cj:were to do/should do 现在(x)Zx:would(could,might)+do Cx:did或were 过去(g)Zg:would(could,might)+have done Cg:had done或had been 为了方便,表中Z表示主句,C表示从句,j表示将来,x表示现在,g表示过去。

以上6种不同的谓语形式,必须分别记住,因为在实际的使用中,主从句的谓语可能会出现混合虚拟的情况。所以,在写作或口语交际中,需要四步走:1.判断是否虚拟;2.何时虚拟;3.主句虚拟;4.从句虚拟。以上四步,一步都不能少,否则就会出错。 二、将来虚拟(ZjCj)考点 结构:从句用were to do或should do,主句用would do。 将来虚拟只能是用来谈将来的“不太可能”的情形,其在很大程度上是由说话人对事件的态度决定的。 If I were to live my life over again,I would have you as my wife. 如果我有来生,我一定会娶你为妻。 再来比较下列真实条件和将来虚拟条件的区别: 1)If it were to rain,I would stay home. 2)If it rains,I will stay home. 这两个例句中不同语气的选择,反映了说话人对未来下雨的可能性的信心程度不同。在例1)中,用了虚拟语气,表明说话人认为将来不太可能会下雨。在例2)中,用了陈述语气,表明说话人认为将来下雨的可能性比较大。

良好合作关系的重要手段,撰写得体的商务信函在商务活动中对贸易双方能够起到至关重要的作用,笔者就谢意表达词在英文商务信函写作中的应用谈点浅见。 1研究方法、过程及结果 本研究基于在线商务英语语料库,该语料库由日本学者Yasumasasomeya于2000年1月创立,之后经过不断完善更新,目前可检索的子语料库有27个,其中最主要的是商务信函语料库bLc(businessLettercorpus),包含1020XX0个字符,语料来源为英国和美国商务信函。通过在语料库中用KwIc(Keywordincontext)方式进行检索,查找表示礼貌的各类谢意表达词“感谢或感激”在语料库中的分布情况,来判断何种谢意表达词是商务信函中使用频率较高的,并通过分析例句,帮助正确理解如何有效地使用高频率的谢意表达词来撰写坦诚友好又充满真诚谢意的商务信函,为英文商务信函写作教学提供一定的指导。 英文商务信函中表达谢意的词汇有动词“thank”及其变体形式“thanks”,“thankful”,“thankfully”,动词“appreciate”及其变体形式“appreciation”,“appreciative”,“appreciatively”,名词“gratitude”及其变体“grateful”,“gratefully”,另外还有动词“acknowledge”及其变体 “acknowledgement”,形容词“obliged”、“indebted”
