Not everything that is learned is contained in books. Some knowledge is acquired from practical experience, and other knowledge comes from books. Comparing these two kinds of knowledge, I think the former is more important.
Generally speaking, what books can provide us with is the experience others learn from practice. Practice is the base of knowledge. All the basic theories have been tested through thousand times of calculations and experiments. There’s no doubt that we get a lot of knowledge from books, and book knowledge is relatively easier to understand. However, if we trace back to the origin, practice is the main source of experience.
What’s more, practice is the only way to check truth. As is known to all, knowledge is limitless.
It’s practical experience that always broadens our horizons. Knowledge from practical experience may correct the wrong book knowledge as well as expand the existing theory. Recently, Pluto is no longer defined as a planet because of scientists’ latest discovery, which is a good example to prove the power of practical experience.
In short, as far as I’m concerned, I think the knowledge from practical experience is more important. Everything we learn must be applied to practice, and practice is one of the best teachers.

In brief, whatever we learn and whichever method we choose, knowledge should be cherished.

There’s no denying that not everything that is learned is contained in books and that some knowledge is gained through practice, while some is gained from books. As far as I'm concerned, I think practical experience is a more important source of knowledge.
To start with, while reading is a mere mental activity, practising involves both mental and physical participation, which therefore leaves a much deeper impression. The vivid experience helps memorizing and reviewing and that’s why children are more concentrated during an outdoor experience. Secondly, reading is an individual activity while practising and accumulating experience often involves group work. Besides the knowledge itself, we can gain other useful skills such as planning, communicating, etc. That means practising can improve our overall ability to deal with the complicated society. Last but not least, we are always learning through our own life. There’s no need to set aside a particular period of time for reading—as long as we live, we are getting more and more experienced. Once the habit of learning is formed, it will benefit us for a whole life.
In all, reading is efficient and direct, but it lacks passion and interest. That’s why I think highly of the practical experience as a source of knowledge.

After comparing a class test with writing a term paper, I think the latter is an ideal means of examination.
In the very first place, I can choose any subject which I am interested in to write on for my term paper, while a class test is prepared according to the teachers’ own opinions. Without being restricted to a limited study range, I can study with more passion, more creativity and more pleasure. Another advantage of writing a term paper is that I can refer to any reference book and discuss with my classmates on the subject. It is during research and discussion that my knowledge will be broadened and views from different perspective will be formed. Through this process, I can learn not only more about the subject, but also
many useful communication skills. In addition, rather than finish the whole test paper hurriedly in only two hours, I can have two weeks to present my thoughts to the fullest through my term paper. There’s no need for me to hurry, which contributes to a better performance.
All in all, even though a class test is the most efficient way to examine how the students have learned, it fails to pay enough attention on the sense of individuality of the students. On the contrary, a term paper can bring out most from the students. That is why I’m in favour of it.

It was really a great pity that many audience were sad when they heard the news, unbelievable and shocked.
Perhaps, we can’t live without money, but we can survive without wealth. A simple, poor life can be free of worries, maybe more free and much healthier. If one is down with heavy work, the wealth he has owned means nothing to him. So, wealth is only of use when we have a strong body to spend them.
In brief, health is more important than wealth.
