Deborah Ahenkorah comes from Ghana, a country in West Africa. She has loved to read since she was a little girl. But all the books she read when she was little were American books and they showed a world that was different from hers. When Ahenkorah grew up, she started Golden Baobab. If you think the place where you live is the coldest, then a visit to Oymyakon may change your mind.
Oymyakon is a small village in Siberia(西伯利亚) where the temperature can be as low as -67.78℃. It’s the coldest inhabited(有居民的) place on earth. The average winter temperature is around -50℃and only about 500 people live there.
Photographer Amos Chapple from New Zealand took a two-day trip to Oymyakon and quickly learned how terrible the sudden dropping of temperature could be.
