为避免金额数量的差漏、伪造或涂改，英文合同对于金额有十分严格的规范。一是在小写（阿拉伯数字)的后面用括号内的大写(文字数字)重写，即使原文合同中没有大写,英译时也有必要加上大写；二是货币单位准确无误;三是大写要求顶格，前加动词SＡY（即为)，单词之间疏密均匀,在大写文字前加上“SAY”,意为“大写";在最后加上“ＯNＬＹ”。意思为“整”.必须注意:小写与大写的金额数量要一致.
例:甲方方须每月付给乙方美元500 元整。

一般是中文的大写在前面,后面用括号加小写阿拉伯数字；但翻译成英文时正好相反：小写在前面,后面是大写。

这里，中文的“整”可以用oｎly iｎword 或者仅用onlｙ表达。RMB可以用人民币符号￥代替。
英文US Ｄoｌlaｒ可以用ＵS＄代替,也可以简单用ＵSD表达,但要注意符号“＄”既可代表“美元”，又可代表其他某些地区的货币，如港币ＨK$;大写前面的SＡＹ（即)往往被省略。美元Ｕ。S DOLLＡR用单复数均可。
