中美作文评价方法比较与思考

摘要:作文评价历来是困扰语文教学的一大难题,为探讨如何使评价更能尊重学生的个体差异,

更有利于全面有效的激发学生的写作兴趣、提升学生的写作能力,本文以比较鉴别为手段,选

择对作文评价有较早研究的美国为比较国,浅析中美作文评价方法的异同,以求为我国的作文

评价开拓思路,寻求有效评价之法。

一、问题的提出

作文是学生语文综合能力的集中体现,学生的写作过程呈现为一个比较复杂的心理过程,它涉及个人掌握的语文基础知识、观察能力、思维逻辑能力、情感态度、审美鉴赏能力以及价值观等多种内在因素,这使的作文评价具有相当大的难度。目前我国的作文评价中存在着主观随意性及信度不足等问题,使得作文评价多流于形式,对学生作文水平的提升帮助不大。

作文评价是从属于教育评价的,目前的作文评价形式主要有两种:一是对日常作文的评价;二是对以试题形式出现的作文答卷的评分。前者属于形成性评价,后者属于诊断性评价。本文主要研究的是日常作文教学中的作文评价,通过对比中美作文评价方法的不同反思我国作文评价中存在的问题,借鉴国外作文评价的有益经验为我国教学所用。

二、中国作文评价方法概说

在中国,还没有形成特别系统的作文评价步骤与模式,有的只是一个简单系统的评分标准作为评价依据,评价的任务都在教师一个人身上,教师以评分标准的标准为标准来进行日常作文的评价,其评价的自主性很强。教师完全担当着评价主体的角色,其在语文知识、文学功底、文化视野及教育水平上的差距直接决定评价结果的差异。无系统明确的评价模式可以使那些文学功底强、基础扎实的评价主体在评价中灵活而个性化的驾驭,给与学生正确有效的评价与指导,提升

学生的写作水平,可对于那些能力略差的评价主体来说,在实践中使评价流于形式,死板的依附于评价标准,简单批注,缺少对学生的有效指引与促进。

评价主体的评价在实践中主要表现为教师为学生习作写评语。教师的评语通常不多,内容也与评分标准思路大体一致,如中心是否突出、逻辑是否合理、情感真挚与否等等,然后从习作中挑选若干佳作进行范读、分析,并对全班同学共存的几点问题进行强调。到此,教师的评价任务告一段落,接下来则交由学生自主修改并最终完成本次作文的写作。

在上述的作文评价过程中,有几点问题非常明显。首先,教师的诊断多于指导,在作文评价的过程中缺少对每个学生全面有针对性的指导,使得学生在实际的作文修改中困难重重。面对老师的评语也只是哭笑不得。因为他们也了解自己文章的一些问题,只是苦于不知如何让解决,而教师的评语大都是重复的诊断出学生作文存在的问题,却对如何改进缺少有效具体的指导。并且日常作文的修改大都进行一次,教师很少对学生修改后的作文再次指导,学生也很少进行再次修改,这样使得作文修改功能发挥不大。修改后的作文很少能达到师生两者都满意的程度就被完成任务似得万事大吉的翻过去了。其结果就是翻开学生的作文本,同一题目的作文都是两篇:初稿、修改稿。比较两稿,有重大进步者少之又少。并且注意教师对同一学生自始至终的评语,虽然习作题目各不相同,但评语却大体相同,也就证明该生存在的问题一直未解决,多次写作下来只积累了写作素材,写作能力却无明显提升。

三、美国作文评价方法概说

美国教师在进行作文评价时首先判断习作是否是学生的真实感受,如果仅仅是为应付老师而做的无情感、无生活在内的生造之作,教师不会评价,而是找到

学生与之交流,找到学生不感兴趣的原因,并重新给他一个感兴趣的可以抒发真情实感的作文题,避免学生和老师做双重无意义的工作,这体现了美国“真实性评量”的追求,关注测评是否真实有效,是否达到测评目的,能否从学生实际出发,调动学生真实体验进行有意义写作。

在确定为意义写作后,教师对习作进行简洁评论,然后不马上做评讲,而是给学生充分的消化时间,让学生自己修改。这其实是学生二次创作的过程,并且在修改中,引导学生将注意力放到构思、谋篇、立意等的修改完善上,而不是对错别字,标点符号等固定知识的过分关注上,这是充分发挥学生的创造性,让学生学会思考,学会自我改进与提升。我们一般习惯的作文步骤为选题、组织材料、撰写文章,最后由教师评价作文并打分,较少对作文的写作过程、具体修改给予足够重视。这样一次作文的布臵对于学生来讲只是“完成作业”而不是发挥出他们最大的能力。美国教师在作文评价时则把重心放在了过程修改上,教师协助学生共同参与修改,明确提出“尽管这样评价学生作品的方式不是以为来为导向,但是,很可能这个过程将会使学生的写作产生大范围的改变和提高。当学生从自我修改中获得成功时,他们就会牢牢记住使他们成功的那些过程部分”。

四、中美作文评价方法比较与思考

所谓评价,实际上是指导学生二次作文的依据,之前的第一次作文,在这里充当着评价与修改的素材,我们的作文评价应该是以第一次的作文为素材,指导学生的思路、谋篇、立意,最大程度地找出符合每位学生作文实际的评价策略,以促进学生作文水平的提升,对比中美作文的评价方法我们可以看出,中国的作文评价注重的是对结果的评价,全部的指导与修改都放在对下一次作文的期望中。而美国,重视评价指导,强调在过程中培养学生的自我修改能力,而我们的

作文课,贪多不贪精,重量不重质,作文题目写了一大堆,素材积累了一大叠,可是真正能写好的题目少之又少,更不用说创新、个性、写出自我风格。除了优美辞藻和典故堆积的拼盘作文外,还能写什么?

而美国的作文评价强调对学生自我修改能力的培养,把注意力放在此时此处的提升和完善上,用每一小次的改进和提高来激发学生的写作兴趣,并逐步建构和完善学生个性化、系统化的写作能力,正如David E.Wilson在《老师的评语》中说的那样:教师评价学生作文的目的是“让学生写,并帮助学生发挥出长处。”

通过对中美作文评价方法的比较分析可以看出,中国的作文评价还存在许多急待解决的问题以及需要进一步深入研究的领域,我们的语文教育工作者应努力致力于实现作文评价的有效化、多样化、全面化、个性化,切切实实做到促进学生写作能力的全面提升。
