1.采取快速阅读法,避免逐词阅读;

2.较短的选项,采取扫视阅读法,大体了解其内容;

3.较长的选项,先浏览各条选项,再竖读发现共同成分;

What are the two speakers talking about?

What are the two speakers doing?

What is the dialogue about?

W: In the paper, it says there’s a man going round pretending he’s from the electricity board. He’s been calling at people’s homes, saying he’s come to check that all their appliances are safe. Then he gets around them to make him a cup of tea and while they are out of the room, he steals their money, handbag, whatever and makes off with it. M: But you know Jane, it’s partly their own fault. You should never let anyone like that in unless you are expecting them. W: It’s all very well to say that, but someone comes to the door and says electricity or gas, and you automatically think they are ok, especially if they flash a card to you. M: Does this man have an I. D. then? W: Yes, that’s just it! It seems he used to work for the electricity board at one time. According to the paper, the police are warning people, especially pensioners not to admit anyone unless they have an appointment. It’s a bit sad. One old lady told them she’d just been to the post office to draw her pension when he called. She said he must have followed her home. He stole the whole lot. M: But what does he look like? Surely they must have a description. W: Oh, yes, they have. Let’s see. In his thirties, tall, bushy dark hair, slight northern accent, sounds a bit like you actually. Q19. What does the woman want the man to read in the newspaper? (A theft case) Q20. How did the man mentioned in the newspaper try to win further trust from the victims? (Flashing his I.D. to them) Q21. What is the warning from the police?( not to admit anyone unless they have an appointment) Q22. What does the woman speaker tell us about the old lady?(Her pension has been stolen by the man) Conversation Two M: Miss Jones, could you tell me more about your first job with hotel marketing concepts? W: Yes certainly. I was a marketing consultant, responsible for marketing ten UK hotels. They were all luxury hotels in the leisure sector, all of a very high standard. M: Which markets were you responsible for? W: For Europe and Japan. M: I see from your resume that you speak Japanese. Have you ever been to Japan?

A message in a bottle sent out to sea by a New Hampshire man more than five decades ago was found 1,500 miles away. And it has been returned to his daughter. A long-last message was discovered by Clint Buffington of Utah while he was vacationing. Buffington says he found a soda bottle half-buried in the sand that looked like it had been there since the beginning of time. The note inside the bottle said, ‘Return to 419 Ocean Street, and receive a reward of $150 from Richard and Tina Pierce, owners of a beachcomber motel.’ The motel was owned by the parents of Paula Piece in 1960. Her father had written the note as a joke and had thrown it into the Atlantic Ocean. Buffington flew to New Hampshire to deliver the message to Paul a Piece. She held up to her father’s promise, giving Buffington that reward. But the biggest reward is the message in the bottle finding its way back home. Question 1. What is the news report mainly about? Question 2. Why did Paula Piece give Clint Buffington the reward News report Millions of bees have died in South Carolina during aerial insect spraying operations that were carried out to combat the Zika virus. The insect spraying over the weekends left more than 2 million bees dead on the spot in Dorchester County, South Carolina, where 4 travel-related cases of Zika disease have been confirmed in the area. Most of the deaths came from the Flowertown Bee Farm, a company in Summerville that sells bees and honey products. Juanita Stanley who owns the company said the farm looks like it’s been destroyed. The farm lost about million bees. Dorchester County officials apologized for the accidental mass killing of bees.

23. A) She is thirsty for promotion. B) She wants a much higher salary. C) She is tired of her present work. D) She wants to save travel expenses. I'm fed up with my job.", 正是"tired of"的同义置换。

What is the conversation mainly talk about? What is the main topic of the conversation? What are the two speakers talking about? EXAMPLE A)The man has sent the order to the woman by mistake. B)Some of the telephone systems don’t work properly. C)Some of the packs do not contain any manuals. D)The quality of the goods is not up to the standard. W: What can I do for you? M: Well, unfortunately, there is a problem with the order we received from you yesterday. It seems we’ve not received the right quantity of manuals to support the telephone system. W: Oh, dear, that’s bad news. I’m very sorry to hear that, and you don’t know how many packs are without manuals? M: No, because we haven’t opened every pack. But in several of those that have been opened there are none, no manuals. 23. What problem are the speakers discussing? C)。
