Have you ever heard about Chaplin? He was one of the greatest and funniest actors in the history of the cinemas. During his lifetime, Chaplin acted in 13 films, and wrote, directed (导演) and acted in 69 other films.
Chaplin was born in England in 1889. He began to act by chance when he was five years old. Chaplin’s mother was a singer. One day she lost her voice during the performance and had to leave the stage. The five-year old Chaplin went on and sang a famous song. In fact he sang so well that all the audience threw money onto the stage. Yellow, orange, red and green tree leaves make autumn a colorful time! Who paints all these colors? It is the leaves themselves.
Inside a leaf, there are millions of little color 〝bags〞. They are green, yellow and orange. The green ones are called chlorophyll (叶绿素). The yellow ones are called xanthophylls (叶黄素). The orange ones are carotene (胡萝卜素).
