1.华清宫; The Huaqing Pool is located in the Lintong District 30 km east to the urban area of Xian. With Mount. Li to its south and the Wei River to its north, it boasts the natural hot springs. The favorable geographical condition and natural environment make it one of the cradles where ancient people settled and . It was also a favorite place for emperors to buildtheir palaces as a resort. Since ancient times, it has ever been a famous bathing and tourist destination. According to historical records and archeological the Huaqing Pool has a history of 6000 years for the use of hot springs and a history of 3000 years of royal gardens. Over these years, the cultural relics excavated near the source of hot springs prove that over 6000 years ago primitive residents had used the hot spring. In West Zhou, King Youwang ordered the construction of Li Palace on the site. Then the emperors of the following dynasties join in the line. After Emperor Xuan Zong ascended the

论旅游景点名称的翻译方法 --以西湖十景为例 摘要：翻译涉及一切有关连接的建立——把一种文化与另一种文化和语言连接起来，为无限的物品交流、技术交流和思想交流创造条件。进入21世纪，全球化的迅猛进程使得国家与国家间的往来日益紧密，来华旅游人数不断增多，2016年G20峰会在西子湖畔成功举办，使得杭州掀起一股旅游热，提升了杭州的国际化水平，所以本文将以杭州作为旅游景点的英译研究对象，并从英汉文化差异的视角对翻译中存在的问题提出解决方案，以期达到翻译目的。 关键词：翻译方法文化传播西湖十景目的论功能对等理论 一．旅游景点名称翻译简介 旅游作为传播文化的一大主要途径，旅游翻译则是“文化的使者”，以传播中国文化为己任，一定要地道、喜闻乐见，真正让国际旅游者“知之、乐之、好之”。景点名称属于地点名称，是公示语的一种，具备提示性、指示性等功能,往往都被赋予了传说、轶事、典故，一经开发就带上了当地的文化烙印，蕴含了大量历史人文信息。由于景点名称包含了丰富的中国文化，该景点成为外国游客体验异域文化的首选地，因此，景点名称的英译是相当重要的一个步骤，景点名称翻译得韵味十足就容易激发外国游客对该景点和其特有文化的动机，增加旅游景点人文内涵，协调旅游与文化交流传播之间的带动关系。西湖及其周边的十处特色风景景区、景点、景物都采用四字文学语言的方式命名，构成“景观集称”即“西湖十景”。它要求最大限度的体现命名的审美特征、文化特征和功能特征以及审美性、文化性、功能性三者之间的相互制约平衡，并达到一个合适的嵌入点，力求高度接近、概括出景观特色。康志洪认为，地名翻译中，源语-目的语关系的重要特点之一是源语语符必须适应和服从目的语的社会语用环境和习

景点名称的翻译 上完这么多节艺术鉴赏课之后，感受最深的是无处不在的艺术表现形式，如声音，剪纸，绘画，建筑甚至于街头艺人。许许多多的都是我们日常生活中所忽略的东西。以前我以为，电影是一气呵成的，没想到却是通过这么复杂的程序来一步步合成的，那数以万计各种各样的音效让我直呼神奇。说不上来学到了什么，但是感觉和以前还是有提高的，至少是在观察上，较之以前更为心细了些。其实我没想出来艺术和我们英语专业又多深的联系，在提到故宫的时候，我想了一下它的英文翻译，所以就想从这里入手，研究一下故宫及其它景点名称的翻译。 旅游景点（Translation of Tourism Attractions）是指以旅游及其相关活动为主要功能或主要功能之一的空间或地域，包括风景区、文博院馆、寺庙、旅游度假区、自然保护区、公园、游乐园、动物园、植物园等等。 我们在阅读旅游资料时,景点名称是最先跃入眼帘的。旅游景点的名称往往很短小精悍，有的景点因其形状而得名,如台湾日月潭、南海五指山、象鼻山等；有的名称与历史事件、历史典故相关 ,如法国巴黎凯旋门，万里长城、唐蕃会盟碑、烽火台、焚书坑等；有的则因神话传说而得名,如仙人洞、观音阁、水晶宫、太虚幻境等；有的与宗教相联系,具有宗教特征,如长春观、白马寺、水月庵、归元寺等；有的名称充满着诗情画意,如西山晴雪、居庸叠翠、卢沟晓月；有的包含着美好的祝愿,如万寿山、永乐宫等等。 汉语景点的名称，从其语法结构上分析可以表示为“专有名称+通名（种类名称）”的形式，如：“白云山”、“紫禁城”、“仙人洞”、“大雁塔”、“峨眉山”等等。专有名称是特定的某人、地方或机构的名称，即：人名、地名、国家名、单位名、组织名等，其中，刚才所举的白云、紫禁、仙人、大雁、峨眉是专有名词；而山、城、洞、塔则是表明景点的类别。 旅游景点通名一般都采用英文直接翻译，英文单词首字母大写，其余小写。而且景点的类别大致有以下几种： 1．花园译为Garden，如“御花园The Imperial Garden”。 2．博物馆一般名称译为xx Museum，如“历史博物馆History Museum”、故宫博物院“The Palace Museum The Museum of Revolutionary History”。 3．故居译为Former Residence，如“周恩来故居 Zhou Enlai's Former Residence”。 4．宫、院译为Palace，如“颐和园 Summer Palace”、“乾清宫 The Palace of Heavenly Purity”，“坤宁宫 The Palace of Earthly Tranquility”、“民族文化宫 The Cultural Palace for Nationalities”、“劳动人民文化宫 Worker People's Cultural Palace”； 有些宫译为Hall，如“乾清宫”又叫“Hall of Heavenly Purity”； 有些宫还译为Lamasery，如“雍和宫 Yonghe Lamasery”。 5．殿、堂译为 Hall，如“太和殿Hall of Supreme Harmony”、“乐寿堂Hall of Longevity in Happiness”、“保和殿 The Hall of Preserving Harmony”、“中和殿 The Hall of Central Harmony”。 6．寺庙译为Temple，如“归元寺 Guiyuan Buddhist Temple”、“甘露寺 Sweet Dew Temple”、“寒山寺 Hanshan Temple”、“北京孔庙 Beijing Confucius Temple”。 7．亭、阁译为Pavilion，如“观音阁 Goddess of Mercy Pavilion”。 8．佛塔一般译为Pagoda，如“大雁塔 Big Wild Goose Pagoda”。 9．楼阁译为Tower。如“黄鹤楼 Yellow Crane Tower”、“鼓楼 drum tower”、“岳阳楼Yueyang Tower”、“佛香阁The Tower of Buddhist Incense”。 10．高山译为 Mountain，如“白云山 White Cloud Mountain”、“安徽黄山 Mount Huang
