The exercises are mainly intended for students whose native language is not English;however,those exercises which involve work with transcription (exercises 2.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 4.5, 5.3, 5.4, 6.2, 7.6, 9.5, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 11.5, 12.3, 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, all of Tape Unit 14 and exercise 20.2) and those which give practice in intonation (Tape Units 15,16,17,18 and 19,and exercise 20.3) will be useful to native speakers as well.

In some of the exercises you are asked to put stress or intonation marks on the text. It would obviously be sensible to do this in a way that will make it possible for you, or someone else, to erase these marks and use the exercise again.

The tapes are intended to be worked through first to last. Those at the beginning are concerned with individual vowels and consonants, and the words containing them are usually pronounced in isolation in a slow, careful style. Pronouncing isolated words in this way is, of course, a very artificial practice, but the recorded exercises are designed to lead the student towards the study of comparatively natural and fluent speech by the end of the course. In some of the later exercises you will find it necessary to stop the tape in order to allow yourself enough time to write a transcription.

After Tape Unit 20, there is an answers section. Two symbols are used throughout the Tape Units: ■ means “Stop your tape” and ?means “Start your tape”.

you should take care to give the vowels the correct length and the correct quality.

a)When one plosive is followed by another at the end of a syllable,the

second plosive is usually the only one that can be clearly heard.In this exercise,take care not to make an audible release of the first plosive.

b)It is difficult to hear the differ ence between,for example,…dropped

back?and …drop back?,since in the normal pronunciation only the last plosive of the cluster(the b of b?k) is audibly released.The main difference is that the three-consonant cluster is longer.

When you hear the number,pronounce the word with stress on the suffix.Y ou will then hear the correct pronunciation which you should repeat.

When you hear the stem word,say the word with the given suffix,putting the stress on that suffix.In these examples,a secondary stress comes on the penultimate syllable of the stem.

READ THIS BEFORE STARTING YOUR TAPE

This Tape Unit gives you practice in recognizing places where elision occurs in natural speech(i.e. where one or more phonemes which would be pronounced in careful speech are not pronounced).The examples are extracted from dialogues between speakers who are discussing differences between two similar pictures.Each extract is given three times.Y ou must transcribe each item,using phonemic symbols so that the elision can be seen in the transcription.For example,if you heard …sixth time?prononuced without the θ fricative at the end of the first word you would write s?ks

ta?m ,and the elision would be clearly indicated in this way.Y ou can use the

一、教学目的? ????全日制高级中学英语教学的目的,是在义务教育初中英语教学的基础上,巩固、扩大学生的基础知识,发展听、说、读、写的基本技能,培养在口头上和书面上初步运用英语进行交际的能力,侧重培养阅读能力,并使学生获得一定的自学能力,为继续学习和运用英语切实打好基础;使学生受到思想品德、爱国主义和社会主义等方面的教育,增进对所学语言国家的了解;发展智力,提高思维、观察、注意、记忆、想象、联想等能力。? 二、教学要求 (一)听 1.能听懂课堂用语和教师用学生所学的英语解释新的语言现象。 2.能听懂教师用所学的英语讲的课文内容概要或故事,以及围绕课文内容提出的问题。 3.在会话中,能听懂对方比较规范的英语和用略慢于正常语速所谈的日常生活题目(参见《日常交际用语》),有时(三年级学生偶尔)需要对方重复。 4.在没有生词或对生词已作解释的情况下,能基本听懂简写的故事和题材熟悉的语段,语速为每分钟110(三年级为120)个词。听一遍能理解大意,听二至三遍能了解其中重要的细节,理解正确率达到70%。 (二)说 1.能(三年级学生能比较熟练地)就课文内容进行问答。 2.略作准备,能简单地重复听到的或读过的文段,内容有一定的连贯性。 3.能够运用《日常交际用语》表中的表达方法,围绕如问候、请求、建议、邀请等话题,进行简单的交谈。二年级学生允许有语言错误,但不致造成误解。三年级

学生虽然有少量语言错误,但基本意思表达清楚。 4.能以简单的语句介绍情况,如本人的经历、家庭、班级、学校、某地、某人等。经过准备,二年级学生能连续说5个以上句子,尽管有停顿和重复,但基本能表达主要的意思;三年级学生能连续说6个以上句子,尽管有停顿和重复,但能清楚地、比较流畅地表达主要的意思;。 (三)读 1.能借助词典读懂难度略低于所学语言的材料,生词率不超过3%。能根据语境中较为明显的提示和构词法知识推断少数生词的语义或初步确定其语义范围。 2.二年级和三年级学生能分别以每分钟40-50个词和50-60个词的速度,阅读生词率不超过3%的有关人物传记、寓言故事、活动记述、社会文化、文史知识、科普小品等内容的材料,能够基本把握主要的事实和中心思想。理解正确率达到70%。 3.能读懂简单的应用文,如信函、请柬、通知、便条、说明、表格、图表、图示和标志等。 4.能把握所读材料的主要逻辑线索,时间和空间的顺序。 5.三年级学生能够根据上下文理解作者的态度、观点和文段的寓意。 6.三年级学生能够根据已知的事实推断出文段未直接写出的意思。 (四)写 1.能用书写体熟练而清楚地书写,要求书写格式、连笔、词距、标点正确。 2.能听写没有生词的材料。语速二年级和三年级分别为为每分钟110和120个词。第一遍只听不写,第二遍边听边写,书写速度二年级为每分钟12-15个词,三年级为每分钟15个词,第三遍检查。 3.能就课文内容笔头回答和复述问题。

[对高中英语教师课堂话语量的观察与思考] 高中英语课堂用语 [对高中英语教师课堂话语量的观察与思考] 高中英语课堂用语 发布时间:2019-07-20 03:48:37 影响了:人 一、问题的提出随着《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》的实施,新课程改革在我国已全面铺开,本研究以译林版《牛津高中英语》教材为媒介进行调研。此教材包括五个必修模块和六个选修模块,基本词汇量为3 600,加上一些词组、短语和惯用法累计达4 500左右,几乎是新课改前的两倍词汇量。教师的备课与信息检索负担明显加大,其中Task、Project 板块超出了不少教师的知识储备和知能范围,以致很多任课教师对新教材随意删减或更换板块内容。同时,新教材侧重英语知识与技能在运用中的习得,对老师的教与学生的学提出了更高的要求。目前,很多高中学校是两年内学完全部课程,高二暑假便进入第一轮复习,因此,为了追赶教学进度,课堂教学又回到了教师“一言堂”的现状,教师再次牢牢地控制着课堂话语权,学生只是充当课堂记录员或听众。那么,教师能否通过对各板块以及校本教材等教学资源的科学整合,在额定的时间内顺利完成新课程任务?教师课堂话语量与教学效益之间究竟有什么关联呢?课堂内教师与学生的话语量应该保持怎样的比率才合理呢?本研究拟以教师课堂话语量为切入点,对课堂教学效益与教师话语量的联系进行实践调研和评估。二、研究设计1.研究问题的界定“教师话语量”(the amount of the teachers’discourse in class)指教师为了顺利完成某一教学任务进行语言交际的有意义的话语总量。它包括教师的课堂导入、讲授新课、课堂指令/活动组织、解释、评价、总结和作业布置等。“高效课堂”(highly effective teaching in class)狭义地讲叫最佳课堂教学效益,从广义的角度讲,高效课堂教学是指师生遵循教学活动客观规律,以最优速度、效益和效率促进学生在知识与技能、过程与方法、情感态度与价值观“三维目标”上获得协调、可持续的进步和发展,高效实现预期教学目标而组织实施的教学活动。[1]近来,一些学者进一步提出了对它的再界定,即:“高效课堂教学”是一种现代教学理念,以学生发展为主旨,强调以科学理论为指导,关注教学的高效性,提倡教学方式的多样化,实现教与学的统一。[2] 2.研究对象湖南省耒阳市二中58位高中英语教师、湖南省各地区教研活动中的32位英语授课教师共计90位。通过观摩课、赛课、示范课和常规课等形式对这90位教师的各种课型的话语量进行调查统计。 3.研究方法本研究主要采取调查研究法、数据统计法、文献研究法、个案分析法、行动研究法、经验总结法。通过授课、评课、课后反思等方式对教师课堂话语量进行研究和统计,并且与他们近十年的教学效果的相关数据进行对比研究,探寻科学合理的课堂师生语量比率,追求课堂教学效益最大化,把话语权充分下放给学生,使学生成为课堂学习的真正主人。 4.研究路线数据统计(教师语量与教学效果数据统计、各种课型语量结构统计)→数据分析(分析语量与教学效果的关系,研究各种课型的语量结构)→研究结果(理论形成)→教学启示(理论指导实践)三、数据分析与研究结果1.数据来源(1)课堂实录:利用电子监控录像,统计师生话语量;平时听课时利用手机、手表等工具对师生话语量进行统计。(2)访谈:对学生和老师进行访谈,了解哪些教师课堂容量大、哪些教师教学效益好等等。(3)资料收集:收集各年级、教务处的各种教学效益考核资料。2.师生课堂话语量数据统计教师话语主要由以下几个板块组成:导入、讲授新课、课堂指令/活动组织、解释、评价、总结和作业布置。学生话语主要包括:思考、回答问题、课堂训练(包括朗读、做调查研究、表演等)、记录等。表1、表2是近几年湖南省各地区32堂教改观摩课和近50堂常规课(《牛津高中英语》版教材)的话语量统计。统计得出学生平均话语量占64%,教师话语量占36%。以上观摩课均属各地区的样板课,通常是由学校备课小组按照新课改精神精心设计,并反复试教的产物。从上述数据以及授课现场发现,新课改从理论到实践均具有较好的操作性和可
