Life is no plain sailing, nor is learning. I still clearly remember the hardship I’ve gone through before the graduation exam of junior high school.
It was in a model test that I failed, which poured cold water on my ambition as the final examination was just around the corner. So discouraged was I when I got my low-scored test paper that I burst into tears. I thought it was the end of the my world and I was totally helpless since I couldn't do well in such a simple math test. Fortunately, my class teacher noticed my bad mood and offered me a helping hand kindly. She helped me analyze all my strong points and weak points, as well as gave me the warm encouragement which I needed badly. I cheered up and spent double effort than before. In the end, my perseverance and diligence were rewarded with a success in the following exam.
The lesson I’ve learnt from this experience is rich and profound. On one hand, I’ve been t aught never to give up in the process of pursuing your goal. As an old saying goes, “God helps those who help themselves.” How can we expect the joy of success without making continuous efforts, working hard and improving ourselves? On the other hand, on no account should we lose confidence in ourselves. Failures and frustrations are unavoidable in our life, but they are only to make us stronger. Therefore，I’ll always begin my day with a confident smile and steer my ship with hope.

Life is like a fascinating voyage on the ocean, where huge waves and horrible storms always go hand in hand.
It was a brand new start when I began my senior life 2 years ago. Packing my luggage and saying goodbye to my parents, I flew away from home and settled in my new boarding school. As time went by, my great curiosity about the new lifestyle and strong passion for living independently all subsided easily. I began to feel homesick and got tired of daily routine. I couldn’t help missing my little warm bed at home while the dorm was absolutely far from satisfactory in terms of comfort and convenience. Expecting too much of the new life made it hard for me to escape disappointment. I was about to give up when my roommates warmed up my heart by celebrating my birthday together. They gave me such a big surprise that I felt as if I were at home and they were my family members.
Thanks to the deep friendship, my ship of life got over considerable difficulties and went on and on. From this precious experience, I learnt a lesson that adaptation to a new environment is never a smooth course and one should always be prepared for the tough obstacles in front of you. Besides, it is friends that are the most precious treasure you own and that’s the source of power which is always on your side.
I’ll always cherish that experience and face up to the challenges in the future.

Being a fresh senior student, I was at first curious about every single thing around me. “How can I give up so early as I still can struggle?” These forceful words kept flashing into my mind, and suddenly I realized how silly I was to surrender when facing such small difficulties. Life is struggle, and only by constantly fighting can we make it. He who gives up early will surely fail in studying, life and so on. From then on, I kept pushing myself through the stream of school life, thus making us increasingly stronger when facing obstacles.
Keep fighting and never give up, this is what I’ve learned through the above experience, and it always brings me up when I am in difficulties, ringing clearly deep in my mind like a wind bell in a gentle breeze.
