Not even close.Bv: Not even close? Where did you hide it, on another planet?!S: Yeah, we've looked for that acorn in places where Squirrel wouldn't even think of.Fx: Well! I can tell one place you haven't thought of looking.A: Where?Fx: The place where it is.F: Come on, Fox. This isn't fun anymore.A: No, it isn't.S: I'm tired of looking. Well….Um,,,,F: Mmmmm. It tastes pretty good but not like the ginger cookies you made. What did I do wrong Mom?M: Hmmmm, let's see. Flour-sugar-eggs-molasses…Oh… ginger. That's what makes ginger cookies taste good. Here you go Franklin. Add three shakes while I get the cookies tray.F: Hmmmm. If three shakes of ginger makes them taste good, then four will make them even better. M: When you've added the ginger, stir the dough until it's all mixed in.F: Okay, Mom. And one more. Wait Mom! That guy only has one eye.M: Oh! I thought he was just winking.F: Mom! Wait till my friends taste these. They won't believe I made them.M: You'd better get cleaned up, these won't take long in the oven.F: I'll get it Mom.Bear.B: Hi Franklin. Hey, is it snowing in your house?F: Huh? Oh, I'm making ginger cookies. They're not cooked yet, but when they are you can try one. B: Mmmm, thanks Franklin, sounds great. I made something too. It's for you……. I hope you like it. F: Gee, thanks Bear.B: I made it myself. Nobody helped. Look, it's even got a tail. D' you like it?F: Ummm. Well.B: Don't you think it's the best thing I've ever made?F: Well……. Maybe not the BEST thing.B: Huh: what d'you mean?F: Um, well, the wheels are kind of wobbly. And look, its beak is coming unstuck. Maybe you didn't use enough glue. And the…..B: So you don't like it?F: No I didn't mean that…. But…. But you asked if it was the best and ….B: Well if you don't like it, just throw it away then.F: But… but bear, if someone asks a question, you're supposed to tell the truth. Remember?M: That's a colourful bird.F: Yeah, I guess so. Bear gave it to me. Mom… if someone asks a question, you've got ot tell the truth. Right?M: Of course, being honest is always the best thing to do.F: Yeah …. That's what I thought.M: Mmm, they smell delicious Franklin. Your friends are in for a tasty treat.F: Yeah, they're in for a big surprise!M: Don't you want to try one?F: No time Mom, I've got to take them to the fort while they're still warm. Do you like them?D: They're very crunchy.M: And they're very … gingery.F: But…do they TASTE good?D: Why don't you try one and see what you think.F: Peek Yuk!M: How much ginger did you put in these?F: I put in four shakes but the last one was really big. No wonder my friends said they were awful. D: Sometimes it hurts when friends tell you what they really think, doesn't it?F: Yeah.M: That's why it's always best to try to think of something nice to say when someone asks for your opinion.D: That's right. Remember Mom's birthday present from Aunt Tortoise?F: That really funny one?M: Oh I couldn't call it funny.D: I have a feeling we've about to be entertained.M: I'd call it… Colourful. Unique…Expressive. Stylish.F: Yummy!D: Fresh picked!M: See, there are lots of nice things you can say about this hat. And it was very sweet of Aunt Tortoise to give it to me.F: Yeah. And it was nice of Bear to make something for me.M: What's that Franklin?F: Oh nothing… I have to talk to Bear about something.F: See, it makes a great clickity clackity noise when you roll it. And look…. The wings move just like a bird. When we fix it, it'll be as good as new!B: But I thought you didn't like it.F: I didn't mean to hurt your feelings Bear… honest.B: That's okay Franklin.B: I guess it is funny looking.F: I don't care… I like it anyway bear.B: And I like your cookies. They don't taste very much like your ginger cookies, but they're still really good.F: Thanks Bear.。
Franklin's BargainFranklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He liked helping his parent and being given extra responsibilities. But one day, Franklin learned that the important responsibility is keeping his end of a bargain.Bear?... What are you doing?Hi, Franklin. I'm using my new Detective Kit.Detective Kit?I'm examining this footprint.Thank you. What for?I think whoever left it might have also thrown this pop can on the ground. Now what are you doing?Dusting for fingerprints. That'll tell me who dropped it here. Here. hold this open.Gee, Bear, where'd you get all this neat stuff? At Mr. Mole's store.Does he have any more?Sorry, Franklin. This was the last one.Oh.But he did have a Super Snooper Spy Kit. It has a real periscope and a Sound Magnifier so you can listen through doors.Listen through doors?! Wow! How much is it?Ten dollars, the same as the Detective Kit.Hmmmmm...If you want it, you'd better hurry up and buy it before someone else get it first. They only had one left.Only one?Six dollars and twenty-one cents... Six dollars and twenty-two cents... By the time I can afford to buy the Super Snooper Spy Kit, it'll be gone for sure, Sam.You're looking rather glum, Franklin. There's really neat Super Snooper Spy Kit at Mr. Mole's store.A Super Snooper Spy Kit? That does sound pretty neat. But I don't have enough money to buy it, I need almost four more dollars.Well that doesn't sound so bad. If you save your allowance for the next few weeks, you should have enough to buy it.A few weeks is too long...It might seem like that now, but the time will be gone before you know it.So will the Super Snooper Spy Kit...there's one left in the store. Hmmm... why don't we make a bargain, Dad? If I do some extra chores, you could give me my allowance for the next few weeks now.Your mother and I never make advances on your allowance Franklin, you know that.I know, but...just this once?Well, with your Mom busy taking care of taking care of Harriet's cold, I HAVE been a little swamped with extra work...I could help you get unswamped. It would be nice to get that pile of dish out of the way. Dishes? Gee... I don't like doing dishes. There are something else I could do?I need to get those dishes done so I can get started on the garden this weekend. I've been so busy with everything else I haven't had a chance to even dig it up yet, let alone get it planted.I love digging! I'll dig up the garden!Okay, Franklin. You've got a bargain. Here's your advance. Thanks Dad!If you get started on the garden now, you should be finished by dinner time.Um... Is it okay if I do that later? First I have to get ot the store before it closes.Wow! Is this ever neat! This must be the Sound Magnifier.Ah-choo! I want drink, mama.I'll get you apple juice in a minute, Harriet, after you take your medicine. It works!Franklin? How's it going in the garden?I haven't started yet, Dad. But I'll get right to it just as soon as I make sure my Super Snooper Spy Kit works okay... Okay? I see a dragon, Sam. a fire- breathing dragon! And there's a shark up ahead! It look like a Great Orange, the most dangerous shark in all the ocean. Gee, ah... It's late. I guess I'll have to dig the garden tomorrow.Don't forget, Franklin. I wanna plant the garden tomorrow. It's already late in the season, and I can't put it off any longer.I know, Dad. I'll dig it up right after breakfast.I'll get it.Hi! Franklin. Are you ready?Ready? We're going to play with your Super Snooper Spy Kit. Remember?Wooops...I guess I forgot. Bear hasn't had a chance to play with the Spy Kit yet, so I'll dig the garden up this afternoon...okay, Dad?You know, Franklin. The longer I wait to get started on these dishes, the taller the pile grows. A garden's a lot like a pile of dishes, don't you think? Franklin? Franklin?I see it!Are there any eggs?Yes...four of them! What color?White...with little brown speckles. What are they saying?I can't hear them. Here, let me try.Well?I can't hear anything either. Are you sure it works?AAAH!I told you it worked, Bear!See you later, Franklin.Whew! Whew! This is going to be harder than I thought. Maybedoing the dishes wouldn't be so bad after all.Dad, I was thinking... if you want, I can do the...dishes instead. Oh, dear. These library books were due to yesterday.I'll take them back, Mom!Bye, Mom.Goodbye, Franklin.Franklin? And the fearless knight rode his horse across the river and... My goodness, Franklin! Are you still here? The library's closing in five minutes.Closing?Gee, Dad. Why did you do that? It was my job.I know, Franklin. But did you think you'd have enough time to do it before supper?Uh...well...Supper's ready! No.I didn't think so.The garden has to be planted tomorrow, Franklin. If I keep putting it off, we won't have any vegetables this year. After all, there's no bargaining with the weatherman.I guess I've been doing too much bargaining lately, haven't I?It's easy to make a bargain, Franklin. The tough part is holding up your end of it.I sure didn't hold up my end. And now you've done the garden work and the dishes.Well, one thing about dirty dishes is that you never seem to run out of them.I know... I'll do the dishes for a whole week! No wait...How about for two weeks?I think one is plenty. Thanks Day.Are you finished, Son, or are you going to eat the plate, too? Dad...Uh...Down...uh...get down...want down... uh.Franklin, could you play with Harriet for a while?I have to get this load of laundry done. Can we make a bargain, Dad?Hmmm...How about you play Super Spy with Harriet, while I do the dishes?!Now that IS a bargain!Hey!。

I don't mind carrying a few things. You're a lucky turtle, Franklin. That's for sure.A camping we will go!A camping we will go!Heigh, ho pistachios, a camping we will go!There! That ought to do it. We're ready to move in.Come on, let's get our stuff.Hey. what's in this bag?No! Don't look in there!Um, I mean. Sorry Fox. It's just that...my Mon packed a special treat and I was saving it for a surprise.A treats?! That's my favorite kind of surprise! Okay Franklin, what is it? I'll have you out of there soon.Okay Franklin. Everybody's ready.Yeah, and so is my tummy.Alright, I want everyone to close their eyes. And I don't want any peeking. Well, I guess I'd better take these eggplants back to Mr. Mustrat. Now? After a scary story like that?I don't know why you waited until after dark? It's okay. I've got my flashlight, and it's only next door.Hey, Franklin, if you find your shadow in the morning, can I hang it on my bedroom wall?...and if they found out I still need Sam, they'd think I was being a baby. Oh, I see. I wonder if your friends would think I'm a baby. You? Why would they think that?Meet Kitty! I've had her since I was five.Really?Uh huh. And after all these years, I still need her.You do? But one day, Franklin learned that home wasn’t the only place where he couldhelp.但是有一天,富兰克林明白了除了家之外,他还可以帮助其他的人。
…and what are some of the things we can do to help make our community a better place to live?那么我们应该做些什么,使我们的社区更好呢?Pick up litter off the sidewalk?捡起人行道上的垃圾?Pick litter up in the park?捡起公园里的垃圾?Pick litter up at the pond?清除掉池塘中的垃圾?Yes, getting rid of litter is one of many helpful things we can do.是的,清除垃圾是我们能做的有用的事情中的一件。
Franklin and the Bus PatrolFranklin could count by twos ans tie his shoes. He liked base ball and soccer and always try to play by the rules. But making sure that his friends followed the rules was a responsibility Franklin wasn't quite prepared for.Get ready, Rabbit. I'm going to hit it a mile!Way back, Rabbit.Whoo-hoo!You're out! What?!You never touched home plate, so you're out.Aw, that's not fair. I was there way before the ball was!Bear's right. The rules say you have to touch home plate. But I didn't know I had to step on the plate.Well, I guess we can count it this time, right Franklin?Sure. Great hit, Raccoon.Thanks. I'll touch home next time for sure.In recongnition of Bus Safety Month, every student who follows all of our bus safety rules, will receive a "Trusty the Bus Rider Pal" certificate.Wow! Neat!I want one of those!I'm going to hang it in my room! Now, dose anyone know our first rule of Bus Safety? Yes, Bear?Rule Number one:" Stay seated while bus is moving." and number two is "No shouting". Number three is "Never stick your arm out the window".Number four is ...Very good, Bear. But it's not a race. Uh...please give me time to catch up... Sorry.I think Bear really likes to follow the rules, Mr Owl.Well then, I think Bear will make a very fine Bus Patrol Officer.Bus Patrol Officer? What's that? The Bus Patrol Officer's job is to make sure that everyone is riding the bus in a safe manner.Wow! Look at the neat badge! It's even made of real metal!Way to go! Bear!Being a Bus Patrol office is an honour, and also a big responsibility. IF anyone disabeys the rule, you'll have to give them a ticket. And anyone who receives too many tickets will not earn the honour of becoming a Trusty the Bus Rider Pal. Alright then, class... can anyone, um, besides Bear, that is, tell me rule number five?Wait till you see what I've got, Franklin.Wow! A Super Bouncer Ball! They bounce like crazy! They sure do!Watch this!Come back here.Sorry, Rabbit. What for?I have to give you a ticket. Why? I didn't do anything.Rule Number I, remember? Stay seated while the bus is moving. But I was just getting my ball...You should have waited for the bus to stop.Yeah, I know, but...Sorry, Rabbit, but rules are rules.Hmph. I thought we were friends.Hi, Bear... I mean..Officer Bear.No funny, Franklin. What's wrong?I thought being Bus Patrol Officer was going to be fun.. but it wasn't much fun giving Rabbit a ticket. I think maybe he's mad at me.But that was Rabbit's fault. He didn't follow the rules.I guess so, but... I still feel bad about giving him a ticket. We're friends. You did the right thing, Bear. Rules are rules, even for friends.Yeah, you're right, Franklin. Rules are rules, thanks.Great drawing, Skunk. The water looks like almost real! Thanks! I still have to finish the- Oops!I got it!Huh?... Aren't you going to bring it back to me, Franklin?I can't get out of my seat while the bus is moving. But I want to finish it.No problem, Skunk...catch!Thanks, Franklin.Who's that for, Bear? You, Franlin.Good one, Bear. Who's really getting it?You are, Franklin. But I didn't get out of my seat! But you broke Rule number six: No throwing things on the bus.Gee, Bear. It was just a piece of paper. And it didn't hit anybody.I could have, or you might have bothered the driver. That could cause an accident. But I won't get my Satety Certificate.I know, but rules are still rules, even for best friends.Lucky for me I don't have more best friends. He's only been Bus Patorl Officer for one week.Yeah, and he's already got everybody into trouble.I got a ticked for making too much noise. And I got one for sticking my wing out the window. I just wanted to see if wasraining. He got me into trouble for running across the road to get on the bus.If I was Bus Patorl Officer, I wouldn't get my friends into trouble.Yeah, too bad Mr. Owl didn't pick you, Franklin.Yeah, Franklin wouldn't give us ticket. That's right. He'd be the best Bus Patrol Officer ever.Bear, you've done a wonderful job as Bus Patrol Officer these last two weeks.I hope you don't mind if I ask someone else to take a turn? No, I don't mind it at all.Neither do we.Yes, Rabbit?I nomiate Franklin to be the Bus Patorl Officer.Yeah- I vote for Franklin.Me too.Well, Franklin. It seem unanimous. CongratulationsWow!Congratulations, Franklin!Yeah, Franklin.See, Bear?... Being Bus Patrol Officer isn't so hard.Just wait, Franklin. This is your first day, and the bus hasn't even started moving yet.Where'd you get the balloon? My cousin had a birthday party yesterday. She gave me some extras to take home. Hey, Skunk- over here! But we're not supposed to throw things.Don't worry. Franklin won't give his friends any tickets. He even said so, remember? You said that? That was before I knew I was going to be Bus Patrol Officer.Uh oh...Who wants one?Me, me, me too. With Franklin as Bus Patrol Officer, our worries are over. It's like a party.Um...guys? Don't you think maybe we should, uh...quiet down a bit? Mr. Fox can't concentrate on his driving...Coming to you, Reccoon! It's going out the window! Not if I can help it!What in tarnation?!?! You kids know better than to carry on like this. A safe bus is a bus where the passengers obey the rules! I can't concentrate with such a commotion, and the last thing I want to do is get into an accident! Now, I want everyone sitting in their seats QUIElY. Not a word for rest of the trip!Gee, Bear, thing sure went a lot smoother on the bus when you were in charge. Being a Bus Patrol Officer sure seems like a tough job!And we made it even tougher by acting up.Gee, I sure hope Mr. Owl never asks me to be a Bus Patrol Officer.Or me..If everyone just followed the rules, being a Bus Patrol Officer wouldn't be so bad. Yeah, you get to wear a badge and everything. And rules are there for a good reason. And ten rules aren't that hard to remember. You mean eleven, Bear.Eleven? What's Rule Number Eleven?Here.. They're printed on the back of the ticket book.No eating on the bus? But...Rules are rules, Bear. Even for hungry friends!Excuse me.。

Lesson one Franklin’s TestFranklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He had won a blue ribbon for swimming and a trophy for playing soccer. But one day, Franklin won something that maybe he shouldn’t have. 富兰克林已经学会数奇偶数了,他还学会了自己系鞋带。
他在游泳比赛的时候赢得过蓝绶带,还赢过足球比赛的奖章。
但有一天,他赢得了一样似乎不该得到的东西。
…daisy…window…chair…pencil. 学生们:Daisy,window,chair,pencil。
Teacher: Well done. All right, you all know how to read our new words. Let’s see how many we can spell. Who would like to go first? 老师:不错。
好了,你们都知道新单词怎么念了。
我们再来看看可以拼写出多少来。
谁愿意先来?Students: I will go first. Me, me, me…… I will do it, it’s easy. 学生:我先来。
我,我,我……我能行,很简单。
Teacher: Bear! Let’s see you give it a try, hmm? All right Bear, spell the word “daisy”, 老师:小熊!你来试试看吧,嗯?好,小熊,拼一下单词“daisy”,Bear: daisy. Hmm. Let me just check…小熊:daisy。
嗯,我来查查看……Students: Hey Bear! You can’t peek like that! That’s cheating! 学生:嘿,小熊!你不能这么偷看!那是作弊!Bear: It is? 小熊:是吗?Teacher: Well Bear, we are trying to learn to spell from memory. I’ll give you a little hint. The next letter is an ‘I’. 老师:噢,小熊,我们要学着默写单词。
Franklin Plants a TreeFranklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He liked caring for his goldfish and tending his Garden. But when Franklin found out he was getting his very own tree to plant, he had such big plans.Franklin: Whew.Bear: Hi Franklin. Whoa, is that the hole for your tree?Franklin: Yeah. I'm glad I'm not planting a forest.Bear: Gee, maybe the hole I dug is too small.Franklin: If you want to plant a small tree you only need a small hole. I need a big hole because the tree I'm planting .. has got to be big enough for my swing.Bear: Oh. I'd know you could get big trees.Franklin: They come in all sizes, Bear. I want one I can have fun with.Bear: I know what I could have fun with…. A Palm tree!Franklin: Then you'd better go to the village square early to make sure you get the one you want.Bear: Get in the wagon, Franklin.Franklin: What?Bear: Get in. I can get there faster than you can.Franklin: Okay.Heron: Earth Day provides us with an opportunity to make a real difference in our world. And what contribution to the environment could be more fitting on this day, than the planting of a tree. Bear: I don't see any trees, Franklin.Franklin: Me neither. Maybe they're not here yet.Heron: And now, it gives me great pleasure, to p resent….each of you with a tree.Rabbit: Hey, if you guys want a tree, you'd better get up there, they're going like crazy.Franklin: What about you?Rabbit: I've got mine already. It's in my backpack.Franklin: Good one Rabbit! A truck's going to drop it off at your place later, right?Rabbit: No. It's in my backpack. I was first in line so I picked out a nice big one.Bear: If that's a big tree, then you need a smaller tire, Franklin. One about this size.Beaver: I've got a special place for you in our front yard.Ashley: What kind did you get Beaver?Beaver: An ash tree, so do you know what I'm going to call it? Ashley.Bear: Hey guys, look what I've got! A baby Christmas tree!Beaver: It is not a baby Christmas tree, it is a pine tree.Bear: A pine tree?….Huh…..It looks like a Christmas tree to me. It even smells like one.Beaver: Hmph. Never mind. What kind did you get, Franklin?Franklin: I don't have one yet.Beaver: You'd better get over there or you won't get one at all.Bear: Yeah, there aren't many left, Franklin.Franklin: ….thank you!Heron: Oh, you're most welcome and have a happy Earth Day.Franklin: Hi, Mr Heron.Heron: Franklin, I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see the youth of your community so excited about tree planting.Franklin: If there aren't any trees left, that's okay, I'll jus….Heron: I wouldn't hear of it. If you put your name on the list for a tree, then you shall have a tree.Ah, here we are. Acer saccharum….Or Sugar Maple as it's more commonly known as. Franklin: Thanks, Mr Heron.Heron: If I've inspired you to have a great appreciation for trees, then the pleasure is all mine.If you're pulling a wagon….this is not ….a shortcut.Franklin: Now this is a tree I could have fun with. You're only big enough for ladybugs to climb.Hmmmmm…..Maybe I should plant it up there so it doesn't look so short.Huh?….Uh oh. Oh well, it was too small to plant anyway.Dad: Are you planting a tree here son…. or burying a tire?Franklin: What….Oh, oh yeah.I was going to make a swing in my tree but then I found out how little it was.Dad: So where is this little tree of yours?Franklin: Well, like I told you, it was really little…and it was kind of crooked…...and I …..well, I decided that……I lost it.It must have fallen out of my wagon when I hit a bump.Mom: Franklin, a tree is a living thing, you know?Franklin: A living thing? But it just stands there….it doesn't do anything.Mom: It grows. Just like you do.Dad: and it needs food and water and air just like you.Franklin: Gee, I never thought of it like that and it's lost somewhere……… all by itself….Dad: It's not very far to the village square.I'll bet you could find it if you went back and had a look.Franklin: That's right! I've got to find it.Oh, it's so small. How will I ever find it?I should have carried it in my shell, then I wouldn't have lost it.Huh? Hi, Beaver, what are you doing?Beaver: I made a growth chart for Ashley.Franklin: A growth chart? For a tree?Beaver: Sure. Every year on Earth Day, I'm going to measure how much it's grown.Dad already took a picture of me standing beside it. He says in three years it will be taller thanme.Franklin: Really?Beaver: Uh huh. Where did you plant your tree?Franklin: Well, I haven't exactly planted it yet.Beaver: You haven't planted it yet? How's it going to grow if you don't plant it?Franklin: Um,,,,,, I've got to go. See you later Beaver.Bear: Perfect!Franklin: What are you doing, Bear?Bear: I'm decorating my tree.Franklin: But Christmas isn't for a long time.Bear: I know that. I just want everyone to notice it. I don't want it to get stepped on.Franklin: Gee….anyone could step on my tree.Bear: Just put a ribbon on it so they can see it.Franklin: I can't Bear….I lost it.Bear: You did?! Where?Franklin: I wish I knew. I've searched everywhere but I can't find it.Bear: Maybe someone else found it and gave it back to Mr Heron.Franklin: Do you think so?Bear: That's what I'd do if I found it. You should ask him. I'll go with you.Franklin: Thanks Bear.Bear: Come on, let's hurry.Franklin: I don't know about this Bear.Bear: I thought you wanted to find your tree.Franklin: I do…It's just that……I'm afraid to tell Mr Heron that I lost it.Bear: Hmmmmm….Just ask if he has any trees left over.If he does, tell him you'd be happy to plant them for him.Franklin: Yeah! Bear, you're so smart.Bear: I am?Heron: Hello boys. Did you plant your trees?Bear: I planted mine! How about you Franklin?Oops! Uh…Franklin was wondering if you'd any trees left over, because if you do, he would behappy to plant them for you.Heron: That's good of you to offer Franklin. But everyone who signed up for a tree was out today and took one home.Well now I shouldn't say that. When I was on my way home I found one on the trail….just over here and ….Franklin: That's mine!Heron: It is? Well I'm glad you told me. Now I don't have to phone everyone on my list.Bear: Aren't you glad we asked?Franklin: I sure am.Heron: Here we are.Franklin: Thanks Mr Heron. I'm going to plant it right away.Heron: I'm sure you will. I have something here I'd like to show you. Here's a photograph of me planting a tree when I was about your age.Franklin: Gee, you were little. And so was your tree.Heron: Ah, but even the largest tree grows from the smallest twig.Franklin: How big is your tree now?Heron: You don't know what tree this is, do you? Follow me boys. I have something to show you. Bear: Why did we stop here? Are you tired Mr Heron?Heron: Oh no. I stopped here because this is the tree.Franklin: You planted the tree fort tree?!Heron: That's the one in the picture.Franklin: Wow! Do you think my tree will be big enough for a tree fort someday?Heron: It's quite possible Franklin. As I said, even the largest tree grows from the smallest twig. Franklin: Bear, do you want to come to my house and help me plant my tree?Bear: Sure.Franklin: Then. Come on. We've got to get this in the garden. It has a lot of growing to do. Bye Mr Heron. Bear: See you later, Mr Heron.Heron: Goodbye Boys. And have a happy Earth Day.。
Franklin's Day OffFranklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He liked to ride his bike and build things too. But when it was time to put away the things that he had built, Franklin wanted to ride his bike instead.Franklin: Great. Let's meet at the playground….Okay. See you soon….Bye Bear.Mom: Planning something…Franklin?Franklin: Huh? Oh, well….um……just a bike ride with Bear.Mom: And what about the fort in the backyard?Franklin: Awwww, Mom, I'm going to take it down.Mom: So why do you need your helmet?Franklin: Um…..Because I'm going on bike ride right now. I'll take the fort down later.Mom: Later?.Hmmmm. It seems to me you said that yesterday.Franklin: I know, but yesterday Rabbit wanted to fly kites and the wind was perfect, so I couldn't do it.Mom: But if you had done it yesterday, you wouldn't have to worry about it today.Franklin: I'm not worried about it mom. I'm just going to do it later.Dad: You know Franklin, putting off unpleasant tasks until later, often has a way of making more work.Franklin: Huh? What do you mean?Dad: Well, let's take the garden for instance. If I put off pulling weeds when they're little, they grow up and spread their seeds so I have even more weeds to pull.Franklin: That's weeds Dad. My fort isn't going to do anything while I go for a bike ride. Can't I do it later? Please. Bear is waiting for me.Mom: Alright.Franklin: Thanks mom.Mom: But you'll have to take it down today.Franklin: I promise.Dad: And that means putting everything in the fort away too.Franklin: Oh, I will dad. Don't you worry.Mom: Well. I hope he doesn't look in the garden.Dad: Why?Mom: Because there are weeds this tall out there.Dad: I'll pull them later.Franklin: Huh? Awww, no. Not again.Dad my tire is flat again.Dad: I told you I'd fix it, Franklin. Did you bring home our patch kit from Beaver's? Franklin: I was going to get it after school on Thursday, but then Fox asked me to play.Dad: It's just a slow leak. Put some air in it the way I showed you and that will last you until you get back.Franklin: Okay dad. I'll go to Beaver's tomorrow.Franklin: Dad! Dad!?Dad: I'm in here.Franklin: I can't find the bicycle pump. Where did you put it?Dad: The last time I saw it, it was under the big tree, I asked you to put it away the other day and you said you'd do it later… remember?Franklin: Oh yeah…Don't worry Dad. I'll put the pump back in the shed as soon as I'm done with it. Franklin: Awww. I should have put the bicycle pump away before all the leaves fell off the tree. I'll never find it like this. Hey! I know what I need! There it is. Awww. That's not the rake. Itmust be in here somewhere.Mom: Franklin? I thought you were going on a ride with Bear.Franklin: I'm, but I can't find the rake….Mom: You are going to ride the rake?Franklin: Huh?…No, I need it to find the bicycle pump.Mom: Hmmm…..Franklin? Do you remember what you used to hold up the roof of your fort? Franklin: The rake! Thanks mom!Franklin: Get off.Mom: Franklin, why don't you empty the fort and then take the trap off.Franklin: I'm going to empty the fort later. Right now I need the rake. I'll get it out this time. Now I can get these leaves out of my way….Huh?! Awwww..no.Bear: What's taking him so long? I'm not going to wait at the playground all day. Franklin? Franklin: Get off!…. Let go!……Ahhhh!Bear: Oh no…..Franklin's trapped! Hold on Franklin, I'm coming. Don't worry Franklin, I'll get you out!Franklin: Ahhhhh! What are you doing Bear?Bear: Ummmm……Saving you?Franklin: I don't need saving, I need the rake.Bear: Oh. Ah, here it is. Hmmmmmmm…. I think the rake needs saving.Franklin: I might as well forget about our bike ride.Bear: So why do you need a rake?Franklin: I need the rake so I can rake the leaves, so I can find the tire pump…so I can pump air into my flat tire, so I can go on a bike ride!Bear: Oh……..Franklin: I'm sorry Bear. I'm just mad because I really wanted to go on a bike ride.Bear: That's okay Franklin.Maybe you could bring your bike to my house and use our tire pump.Franklin: Oh yeah. It's a great idea Bear. Come on, let's go.Bear: What about all your stuff Franklin? Shouldn't we do something with it?Franklin: I'll do it later.Bear: Okay.Bear: Go Franklin, go!Franklin: Wait up Bear!Bear: Go Franklin, go!Franklin: Why can't we just walk?Bear: We'll get to my home faster if we run.Bear: Go Franklin, go!Bear: Go Franklin, go!Franklin: Wait up Bear!Bear: Go Franklin…… Go Franklin……. That does it….Franklin: Huh? Oh no! All my stuff!Awww noooo!Ahhhhhhh! Get off!Bear: Do you need help Franklin, or are you looking for the rake again?Hey Franklin! Look what you tripped over. Now we don't have to walk to my place. We can pump up your tire right here.Franklin: Bear can we go on a bike ride later?Bear: Later? How come?Franklin: Because I should have listened to my Mom and Dad.Bear: Huh?Franklin: If I had taken down my fort when they asked me, it would have been a lot easier. Now it's going to take me hours.Bear: Not if a friend helps you.Franklin: Would you Bear?Bear: Sure. Come on. Let's fold up this trap.Franklin: Yeah, before it tries to eat me again.Dad: Whew. This is hard work. I can't believe how big these roots are.Mom: Ya know, if you had pulled the weeds when they were little, the roots would have been little too.Dad: Well, I ….Uh……you know…..you're right.Franklin: Hi Mom. Hi Dad!Dad: How was your bike ride?Franklin: It was great! We rode all the way to the waterfall.Dad: Now isn't it nice to come home and not have that fort to take down?Franklin: It sure is dad. And it's nice to have a patch on my tire so it doesn't go flat all the time.Hey Dad, you should rake up those leaves over there before they blow all over the place. Dad: Awww. Can't I do it later? I want to pull weeds.Franklin: Dad!。

He had won a blue ribbon for swimming and a trophy for playing soccer. But one day, Franklin won something that maybe he shouldn‘t have.2…daisy…window…chair…pencil…Well done. All right, you all know how to read our new words. Let‘s see how many we can spell. Who would like to go first?I will go first. Me, me, me… I will do it, it‘s easy.Bear, let's see you give it a try. All right Bear. Spell the word ―daisy‖.3Hmm. Let me just check…Hey Bear, you can‘t peek like that. That‘s cheating. It is?Well Bear, we are trying to learn to spell from memory. I'll give you a little hint, the next letter is an ―I‖.“I‖… Oh, yeah! ―D‖, ―A‖, ―I‖, ―S‖, ―Y‖,daisyAbsolutely right, Bear! Well done! Now, who‘s next?Very good, goose!4You‘r e all doing very well with your spelling!I think you are ready for a test! On Thursday, we‘ll see how well you know the words we‘ve learned over the past few weeks. And for those of you who spell all your words correctly, I have something special. One of these colorful pens!Wow! Look at those!Excuse me, Mr. Owl, but since I‘m going to get all the words right anyway, could I have my pen now? I‘d like to write the test with it. I‘m sorry Beaver, but you‘ll have to write the test first. I‘m sure if all of you practice spelling your words, you‘ll do very well. Pens or no pens.5F-L-O-W-E-R flower W-I-N-D-O-W window You‘re certainly going to be well prepared for that spelling test tomorrow.Yeah, Bear and I have been practicing really hard. They must be very fancy pens to go to all this trouble.Oh, they are. And I‘m going to make sure I know my words so I get one.I can see one word that‘s going to take a little more practice.Where? Which one? Show me.This one. ―pencil‖ is spelled P-E-N-C-I-L. That‘s onl y one mistake. You are doing great. But I don‘t want to make any mistakes. I want one of those pens. The important thing is, you‘re learning how to spell. No Dad, the important thing is spelling every word right.6P-E-N uh E-N-C-I-LGood. I got it right this time, Sam. Tomorrow, I'll spell it just like that. But what if I don‘t? What if I forget? P-E-N-C-I-L… I know it now. I won't forget.I know… I'll just put it in here for good luck. 7Next… spell ―kitchen‖. And now we come to the very last word on t he test. ―pencil‖. Now, when you are finished, don‘t forget to put your name at the top of the page. That was a cinch. I got them all right, I know it. Yeah it was easy. All correct. Very good! Congratulations and enjoy your pen. You‘ve earned it.I did it, Bear. I got a pen.3Nice going, Franklin. Keep your fingers crossed for me.So far so good, Bear. Oh, dear, I‘ve spotted an error. But you still get something for trying your best. A space sticker.8I came this close to winning a pen. I only had one word wrong. ―pencil‖.Oh, that‘s a tough word.I‘ll never spell it wrong again, that‘s for sure. What‘s the matter? You tried your best, and you‘re my friend. I should share my pen with you. Here… you borrow it for a while. Thanks, but I want to win my own pen. That one‘s yours. Don‘t worry about me, Franklin. I‘ll get a pen next time.Come on, let's have some fun.Hey! Quit it.“pencil‖?I just had it in my hat for good luck. But did you look at it during the test?I peeked at one letter, that‘s all.B ut that‘s not fair, Franklin! That‘s cheating. 9Hi there, son. Well, how did it go? Your test. The one you‘ve been preparing for the past three days.Oh, fine. Mr. Owl said I did a good job. I - I‘ve got to put my stuff away.I have the feeling he didn‘t do as well on test as he expected.I have the very same feeling. And I know how much he wanted one of those pens. Maybe it‘s time to mind Franklin that the value of a good honest try is worth more than a pen.I‘ll come with you.Franklin. Are you all right?Uh huh.You may not have gotten all the words right on your spelling test, but your father and I still think…I did get them all right.Oh, very good. So you did get a pen? Well, don‘t keep us in suspense. Let‘s have a look at it.There it is.Why did you put it in the garbage? Is there something you want to tell us, Franklin?I spelled all the words right because I peeked at this.It doesn‘t fell right winning a pen this way, does it?No, Bear‘s right. I didn‘t win it fair and square. I cheated. What should I do?That‘s something you should decide. But I think you know inside what will make you feel better.10Good morning, Franklin.Hi. Uh… I want to give you something. I'll just put it on your desk.Uh, just a minute, Franklin. Why are you giving me back your pen?I had one of the spelling words inside my cap and I look at it during the test.I see.I know I shouldn‘t have done it. It‘s just that I really wanted to win one of those pens. But now I think you should have it back. Hmm. Sometimes we think too much about rewards and not enough about what it takes to earn them.Like I thought more about getting the pen than learning how to spell.Exactly. Tell you what - I‘ll hold onto this for a while. After all, there will be more tests. Thanks, Mr. Owl. Next time, I‘ll win it fair and square!02 富兰克林和小鸭子Franklin AND THE DUCKLINGTies his shoes ,He could care for his dog Sam and Goldie his goldfish But one day ,Franklin had something to care for that took a lot more of his time than he had plannedC ome on Bear , the water‘s not so cold once you used to it !I know , it‘s the getting-used-to-it part I don‘t likeI‘ll race you to that log , On your mark4Wait , I‘m not used to the water yet !Get setI‘m not racing franklin , I‘m not !Go!Franklin ! ohh!I won !What was that ?A duckling !
