“英语美文阅读与欣赏”课程是国家课程的校本化，旨在根据学生英语学习水平的实际情况补充适量、相当的素材，弥补英语教材的不足，扩大学生的视野，丰富学生的背景知识，使得学生更广泛地了解英语国家的文化，在语言学习的同时，陶冶情操，提高文学素养和人文素养。
二：课程内容和活动安排
课程内容：
英国美国澳大利亚和新西兰等主要英语多家的 a.关于英语国家风情习俗；b.中西方国家饮食文化的差异；c.关于中西方国家节日的差异；d.关于英语国家的音乐文化；e.关于英语国家的旅游发展；g.关于中西方文化差异；h.关于中英宗教信仰的差异。
活动安排：
1.通过阅读有关材料或观看影视作品了解主要英语国家风俗中的衣食住行，走近普通英语国家人们的生活，了解他们的传统宗教和价值观。
2.通过搜集这些国家的名人主要城市名胜古迹等的资料从而了解他们的历史文化和发展。
3.通过互联网上搜集对以上国家发布的旅游和留学信息，了解这些国家年轻
