Unit 5 PoemsSection ⅣWriting——

You don’t need to care about those people who have beautiful houses with large gardens and swimming pools or those who have nice cars and a lot of money and so on. Why? Because those who have big houses may often feel lonely and those who have cars may want to walk on the country roads at their free time.In fact, happiness is always around you if you put your heart into it. When you are in trouble at school, your friends will help you; when you study hard at your lessons, your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health; when you get success, your friends will say congratulations to you; when you do something wrong, people around you will help you to correct it. And when you do something good to others, you will feel happy, too. All these are your happiness. If you notice them, you can see that happiness is always around you.Happiness is not the same as money. It is a feeling of your heart. When you are poor, you can also say you are very happy, because you have something else that can’t be bought with money. When you meet with difficulties, you can say loudly you are very happy, because you have more chances to challenge yourself. So you cannot always say you are poor and you have bad luck. As the saying goes, life is like a revolving(旋转 ) door. When it closes, it also opens. If you take every chance you get, you can be a happy and lucky person.36.When you do something wrong, _______________.A. you may correct itB. you will have no chance to challenge yourselfC. anybody will laugh at youD. you will be happy37. Which is TRUE according to the passage?A. When you get success, your friends will be very proud of you.B. You can get help from others when you make mistakes.C. You can still be a happy person even if you have little money.D. All the above.38.Why do we say “Happiness is not the same as money”? Because _______________.A. money always brings happinessB. money doesn’t always bring happinessC. everything can be bought with moneyD. only rich people have happiness39. Which is the title of the passage?A. Do Something Good to OthersB. Happy and LuckyC. HappinessD. Life and Success36—39 ADBC四、下面是一篇文章,请将标有A—G的段落填入文章中的合适位置,使这篇文章意义完整,结构连贯。

Section_ⅠWarming Up & Reading —Prereading Now many hospitals suggest that we use the letters DR ABC to remember what to do when dealing with an emergency. Do you know what they stand for?Now read the following passage to get the answer. The most important thing to keep in mind when dealing with an emergency (紧急情况) is to stay calm. By staying calm we will be able to think what to do and make better decisions. Many hospitals suggest that we use the letters DR ABC to remember what to do when we have to think fast. D stands for danger. We should first of all make sure that the accident scene is no longer dangerous. If we were to get hurt trying to save someone, we would not be able to help. R is for response. We can do a lot of good by simply asking “A re you all right?” If the person can answer, we know that he or she is conscious and can breathe. The question will also calm the person, letting him or her know that help is on the way.A is for airway (呼吸道). We must make sure that a person's airway is open and it is easy to breathe. This can be done by gently tipping the person's head backslightly. B is for breathing. We should check that the person can breathe. Is his or her chest moving? If the person is not breathing, we must try to start his or her br eathing at once, using the mouthtomouth method. If this is not done within five minutes, the person will die. If a person is breathing but not conscious, it is usually best for him or her not to be moved. C is for circulation (循环;环流).Is the person's blood circulating? We can look for colour, coughing, and eye movement. She and I got to the checkout counter, and she realized she had forgotten a couple of things on her shopping list. She left me with the cart and ran off to get what she needed.“I’ll be right back.” she said. She was gone just a few minutes, but in that time, I had loaded all the things on the belt and everything was rung up. I left staring at the cashier, who was staring at me. “Do you have money for me, son?” she said. “I'll need to be paid.”I didn't realize she was just trying to amuse herself. So I stood there, ashamed and embarrassed.By the time my mom returned, I was angry. “You left me here with no money! This lady asked me for the money, and I had noting to give her!”Now that I’m an adult, you’ll never catch me with less than$200 in my wallet. I want to prepared in case I need it.I've always admired people who are over-prepared. In college, I had a classmate named Norman.
