连词专讲
一．连词。
连词分类：从作用来看，连词分为并列连词和从属连词。
A. 并列连词。
a. 表示平行或对等关系and，both… and，as well as，not only… but also等。：
You and I will be good friends.
Both A and B are right.
He can speak Chinese as well as English.
I thank my mother n ot only for giving me a birth, but also for teaching me how to be a real pe rson.
b. 表示转折关系but，yet，while，however：
Mrs. Black lives in a house in the east of the city while Mrs. Brown lives in an apartment in the west of the city.
I can speak Japanese, but a littl e.
c. 表示选择关系的or，either… or，neither… nor：
Study hard, or you will fall behind.
Either you or I am right.
I can speak neither French nor Japanese.
Neither you nor he is right.
B. 从属连词。
a.引导时间状语从句的连词.
when
When the teacher comes, all the students will stand up.
as soon as
We will call you as soon as we get to Shanghai.
while
While we were talking, he came in.
He was watching TV while his mother was cooking.
after
After I graduate my senior school, I will go aboard.
before
The plane had taken off before the police arrived at the airport.
since
Since I was born, I have lived in Beijing.
until
I didn’t know who was my father until I was six.
b.引导宾语从句的连词。
that
He said that he would arrive here by train.
if \ whether
I don’t know whether he will come or not.
c.引导原因状语从句的连词。
because
We have to stay inside beca use it is raining too heavily.
d. 引导结果状语从句的连词。
so… that\ so
It is so dark that I can’t see anything clearly.
He often tells a lie so we don’t believe him at all.
e. 引导目的状语从句的连词。
so that
The teacher spoke loudly so that he could make himself heard clearly.
f. 引导让步状语从句的连词。
though/ although/ however/ no matter how
Although it is raining heavily, they will go on the trip.
g. 引导比较状语从句的连词。
than
Tom often says more than what he does. 汤姆说的比他做的多。
h. 引导定语从句的连词。
that/ who/ where/ what/ which/ why/ whom
I will miss the place where I was born. 我会怀念我出生的地方。
i. 引导表语从句的连词。
that/ if/ whether/ what
My idea is that the child should be sent to school. 我认为这孩子应该送去上学。
His question is whether people will live on the moon some day.
他的问题是：人类在未来某一天是否真的能生活在月球上。
j. 引导主语从句的连词。
that/ if/ whether/ what
That English is difficult to learn is not my idea. 英语难学不是我的想法。
Whether he will come to my party makes no difference to me.
他来不来参加聚会对我没有区别。
