托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(1)Which one do you prefer, to solve problems on your own experience and knowledge, or to ask others for advice? As knowledge and experience serve as twim towers in problem-solving, one is often presented with two major paths that pave the way for final fulfillment, eitther to wrack his brain, just like what happened to Neuton, siiting for many years under an apple tree and eventually figuring out ond of the greatest universal rules that govern the whole globe, or to seek for others’ widsom through their advice, just as in the case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Both ways work. When a practical goal is involved, however, Benjimin Franklin may best be regareded as a role model in this respect and asking people for advice often turn out to be the prime alternative.Experience and knowledge borrowed or learned from others’ advice contribute greatly to effectiveness and effeciency for a goal-accomplishment. Not all experience and knowledge related to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less shining compared with group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders’ of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in corperation is highly emphasized in the 21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individula involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village.Asking others’ advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, praticalities and personalities of each other.Admittely turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions. As is paraphrased from John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot do while divided, there is little we can do.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(2)Case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is beterr? Give reasons for your answer. After they complete their univerrsity studies, some students preferr to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities. Everybody has his own reasons for his preference. After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons.Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. There are plenty of opportunities for work, many big libraries for studies, several differrent musiums for visit, and numerous cinemas, theaters and centers for entertainment. When I go back there, I will have no difficulty in finding a job suitable for me and I can make use of all the facilities available there.Secondly, if I go back to my home city, I can look after my parents. I take this into consideration because I am their only child and they are now weak and getting on in age. If I live in the same city with them, I can visit them very often and help them whenever it is necessary.Thirdly, if I live in my home city, I will have a lot of friends, schoolmates and relatives to visit and to turn to for help when I need. Of course, I could get acquainted with many people and make many friends if I were to go to live in a strange place, but that takes time. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and I will be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choise is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family. I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must.Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(4)If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that your children may occasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won't make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regular thing. In the same vein, he knows that you'll understand if some of the trash from his trash cans blows across into your yard. In other words, he is sensitive to the unintentional things that can happen. He doesn't make a big deal about them.A good neighbor is also respectful of your property. For example, she asks your permission before doing anything that interferes with what's yours. This means she wouldn't plant a huge tree in between your houses without asking how you felt about it. If she wanted to put up a fence, she would let you know first. She might work with you to decide where it should be placed. Maybe the two of you would even split the cost.A good neighbor would lend you some milk if you ran out. She'd give you a ride to work if your car was broken, and let your children stay at her house in the evening if you got stuck working overtime. You would do the same for her. Both of you would help make the other's life easier. When something really awful happens to you, like a death in the family, a good neighbor will volunteer to help in any way he can. This could mean something small, like making some casseroles to put in your freezer to feed visiting relatives. Or it could mean something big, like helping you get through the sadness of the funeral.I think only someone who has experienced a bad neighbor can really appreciate a good one!A good neighbor can be a good friend. He or she can make all the difference in the world to your life.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(5)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and esamples to support your answer. Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house don’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home.Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control yourportion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it."It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take up a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table,, waiting for service, and driving home. Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best.托福写作辅导:托福考试满分作文欣赏(6) 题目:It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our work efficiently. It is easier to relax when an appropriate form of entertainment is convenient and close by. Therefore, I would support a proposal to build a new movie theater in my neighborhood.Entertainment places can bring some disadvantages to a community such as increased traffic and noise, but I believe the advantages of a new movie theater would outweigh these concerns. For one thing, the people in my neighborhood would save time. When they wanted to see a movie they could simply walk to the new theater rather than spend time traveling by bus or car. In addition, it would be safer for children to visit a nearby movie theater rather than one in some other part of the city. And finally, a new theater might attract other businesses, such as restaurants and coffee shops, where the people of my neighborhood could go to relax. In short, a new movie theater in the neighborhood would increase the number of entertainment options for the residents. They could enjoy themselves more easily without spending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support the building of a movie theater in my neighborhood.
【1】Does technology make children less creative than in the past? Are our kids becoming lazier and less creative, less imaginable than before as a consequence of highly advanced technology? My answer is no, and just the opposite, technology has apparently assisted our kids to become more creative.First and foremost, technology has provided children with easy access to scientific and liberal art resources which is their best source of inspiration. For example, children could now easily gain access to academic databases through iPad screen, read classical works on Kindle, or watch historic documents on Internet. These great works are essentially helpful to arousing their curiosity and prepares them with key knowledge necessary for any creation. However, these wonderful equipments and facilities are never as handy in the past, when kids could only reach limited resources in public libraries or schools. In this sense, technology has provided the possibility for children to be more creative.Second, technology has equipped children with professional apparatus which could finally realize their imagination. This takes form particularly as computer softwares and applications, such as Photoshop for creative graphic design, Overture for easily composing a piece of music, 3DMax for building up a virtual world, etc.. All the software were never as handy as they are at present, and this would absolutely provides our children aneffective tool for realizing their creativity.Third, technology itself is a market place where creative ideas are economically encouraged. Steve Jobs earned millions of dollars a year for his unparallel creation, and Mark Zuckberg gained his reputation for the genius social network. Therefore, technology has provided children the internal motive to develop their creativity. However, it is undeniable that technology might make children become lazier and be comfortable with what is already available because everything are so convenient nowadays and there seems to be no way to improve them. Children lost in pc games or blindly pursuing every single piece of tech apparatus is a relevant example. Thus, it is always necessary to keep children’s mind active in the marvelous world of technology. In a nutshell, I still regard children as becoming increasingly creative in technology development, although it might bring minor side effect. As along as we keep a balanced mood on children enjoying the fruit of technology, they are sure to contribute more to innovation than in the past.新托福作文范文【2】Coincident with most people's notion is my heartfelt belief that television advertising directed toward young children should not be allowed. Since the advent of television, advertising has permeated every corner and every minute of our life. It is not uncommon to observe the large amounts of television advertising aiming at innocent young children. My reasons for opposing advertising directed toward young children are as follows. In the first place, advertising may waste money and cause emotional torture of parents when they fail to fulfill their children's unreasonable demands. However, nowadays, regardless of what children's true need, most of advertising are promoting a largenumber of products that is useless or unsuitable to children. For example, when a family ishaving a pleasant dinner together on Christmas Eve, a cartoon figure lion king would appear on screen and hold a tub of popcorn to attract children's attention. It is a typical advertising strategy host sale. By combining popular cartoon figures and products, advertising could draw children's attention and achieve a better sale. However, it may cause some problems; first, some children may be easy to be drawn into the content in the advertising; second, if children are attracted by it and they insist on purchasing it while parents consider the products as a piece of meaningless junk, cry and screams could drive their parents crazy. Therefore, advertising could cause problems not only for children to understand but also may bother and upset their parents. Furthermore, advertising could mislead children for major goal of most of advertisings is to make profits whereas children between age two to five lack ability of understanding and judgment. Children are easily influenced by outside world, and admittedly television advertising play a negative role in this aspect for they tend to exaggerate the advantage of their products. For example, my two year old younger brother is attracted to Transformer, Spiderman and Superman models. In his mind, these toys are magic, fantastic and powerful as imparted by advertising. In fact, they are just normal toys; they cannot fly, climb mountains or save people's life. Some two year old boys even are just babbling instead of speaking clearly, not to mention identifying misleading messages conveyed in the advertisings. Thus, these advertising has misled and distorted children’s vision toward reality. All in all, though there are someundeniable benefits of advertising for children; for example, advertising could open an amazing world of imagination and innovation for children by informing them what a fabulous Barbie or a magnificent castle is. However, these advantages could be ignored when its disadvantages are taken into consideration. It would mislead the children, distort their vision toward reality and even cause quarrels and financial burdens for parents.。

Should higher education be available to all students or only to good students? Some people believe that a college or university education should be available to all students. Others believe that higher education should be available only to good students. Discuss these views. Which view do you agree with? Explain why.
用什么样的方法确定一个学生good enough so as to deserve highereducation? 考试?考试制度也有缺陷。
可能选择的立场比如:我们国家目前是需要更多的人接受大学教育。
与此同时,一方面要保障大学教育的质量,另一方面,要改革考试制度,保障考生的公平机会。
本话题高分范文赏析Some people believe that only good students should have aess to a university education. Others posit that higher education should be open to everyone, regardless of their academic abilities. I agree with the former opinion. Universities should only allow good students into their programs because these students value the importance of a good education and are interested in furthering their education. Furthermore, if all students were allowed into universities, the schools would quickly bee saturated, and the quality of education received would diminish. A university education is very important to a good student. This type of student has set his/her sights on a university education from early on, and has put in the necessary work to earn a place in a good university. Poor students who did not try to achieve good grades in high school obviously donot care about their education, and therefore, do not deserve to go to university. However, if these poor students go back to school and improve their grades, they should also be allowed to go to university. Good students are very interested in furthering their education. They have put copious amounts of work into their education, and are interested in learning more. Poor students are usually not as interested in furthering their education. If they were interested in this, they would have tried harder to begin with. With that said, let us suppose for a momentthat universities did allow all students, regardless of their grades, into university. The school would quickly bee overfull, and good students, who really care about their education, would suffer because of it. They might not be able to get into the classes they want, and if they do get in, there might be so many students in the class that it is impossible to learn. In conclusion, I think that it is important to save a university education for those who really want it—good students. If a poor student wishes to go to university, then he/she will have to return to high school and improve his/her grades.托福写作难点话题一览Should young children spend most of their time on school studies or playing? Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most oftheir time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?两种观点都有些极端。
经典背诵文章20篇第1篇Does money buy happiness? No! Ah, but would a little more money make us a little happier? Many of us smirk and nod. There is, we believe, some connection between fiscal and feeling fantastic. Most of us would say that, yes, we would like to be rich. Three in four American collegians now consider it “very important ”or “essential ”that they become “very well-off financially ”. Money matters.Well, are rich people happier? Researchers have found that in poor countries, being relatively well-off does make for greater well-off being. We need food, rest, shelter and social contact. But a surprising fact of life is that in countries where nearly everyone can afford life’s necessities, increasing affluence matters surprisingly little. The correlation between income and happiness is “surprisingly weak ”. Once comfortable, more money provides diminishing return. The second piece of pie, or the second $100,000, never tests as good as the first. Even lottery winners and the Forbes’100 wealthiest Americans have expressed only slightly greater happiness than the average American. Making it big brings temporary joy. But in long run, wealth is like health; its utter absence can breed misery, but having it doesn’t guarantee happiness.第2篇To a large degree, the measure of our peace of mind is determined by how much we are able to live in the present moment. Irrespective of what happened yesterday or last year, and what may or may not happenn tomorrow, the present moment is where you are-always!Without questions, many of us have mattered the neurotic art of spending much of our lives worrying about a variety of things-all at once. We allow past problems and future concerns to dominate our present moments, so much so that we end up anxious, frustrated, depressed, and hopeless. On the flip side, we also postpone our gratification, our stated priorities, and our happiness, often convincing ourselves that “someday ” will be better than today. Unfortunately, the same mental dynamics that tell us to look toward the future will only repeat themselves so that “someday ” never actually arrives. John Lennon said, life is what’s happening while we are busy making other plans. Our children are busy growing up, the people we love are moving away or dying, our bodies are getting out of shape, and our dreams are slipping away. In short, we miss out on life.第3篇Almost all of us have image of how life should be. The problem, of course, is that only rarely do people’s jobs, spouses and children live up to these imagined ideals. Here’s a personal example: no one in my family had ever divorced. I assumed that marriage was for life. So when my wife and I divorced after five years of marriage and three years after the birth of our son, my world collapsed. I was a failure in my own eyes. I later remarried and confided to my wife that I couldn’t shake off the feeling that my family life had failed. She asked me what was wrong with our family now(which included her daughter from a previous life and my son ). I had to admit that, aside from the pain of being with my son only the half time(my ex-wife and I shared custody ), our family life was wonderful. “Then why don’t you celebrate it?” she asked. That’s what I decided to do. But first I had to get rid of a “perfect ” family.第4篇。

2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parentsare the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.Obviously, the earliest teachers we have in our lives in most cases are our parents, and they are generally the mostinvolved in the development and education of their children. Yet neither are all parents good teachers nor are those good parents the best teachers.First of all, not all parents are good teachers. As normal individuals, some parents more or less have bad habits.Even though parents almost instinctively devote themselves to cultivating their offspring, the outcome might turnout to be disappointment, for all children tend to unconsciously or subconsciously copy every thing from theirparents. Another deficiency of parents as teachers is the fact that most parents are lack of common senses of education. All too often we observe some parents tend to pursue their cherished but failed dream by forcing theirchildren to develop in a prearranged direction. Ironically, if their children did not follow the instructions, thechildren would be regarded as disobedient or allegedly rebellious. In fact, it is parents rather than their childrenthat virtually disobey common senses. Moreover, some parents are qualified as good teachers, but not allof them are the best ones. When children are in the preliminary school, it is not surprising that parents are capable of teaching their children almost every subjecteven better than professional teachers in the school. But the situation will not last long. We live in a world where knowledge is accumulated by multiplying and at the same time becomes more and more specialized. Therefore, to be a professional in a certain field today takes much longer time than ever before. No parent is able to be professional inall fields, though they might be experts in one or more fields. Wise parents often release rather than charge their children as early as possible. They are aware of the possibility outside the family.Parents may, nevertheless, help their children much more than do good teachers. Most parts of children educationare virtually beyond teachers' reaches. It is parents that supplement. Psychology studies have shown us thatparents' love sometimes has astonishingly magic power to their children. Albert Einstein's mother and ForestGump's mother are both good examples. On the other hand, parents might do their children harm more than do badteachers as well. The natures of those children whose parents have divorced are often severely distorted. In a word, it is rather superficial to simply say that parents are the best teachers.[404 words]4. It has been said, "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gainedfrom experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?Both experiences and books are very essential resources, and both of them have relevant merits. Experiences arethe most direct resources we ever have. Almost our every basic skill came from experiences, such as walking, articulating, reading even thinking.Without experiences, some natural born abilities even might lose. Studies have shown that a baby who was robbedby animals into forest for 12 years lost his ability to talk in human language.Furthermore, it is generally accepted that each and every skill develops by experiences, and that's why people always say practice makes perfect. Books are valuable when knowledge is beyond the scope of our experiences.Perhaps the most obvious examples are those fluent writers. They write various stories, the scopes of which are far beyond anyindividual's experiences. Take Joyce Carol Oates for example, her productivity has been prodigious, accumulating in less than two decades to nearly thirty titles, including novels, collections of short stories and verse, plays and literary criticism. Although some of them appear to come from her own direct observations, her dreams, and her fears, much moreis clearly from the experiences of others. Her fictive world remains strikingly akin to thatreal one reflected in the daily newspapers, the television news and talk shows, and the popular magazines of our day.Yet either experiences or books may give us wrong information. Our direct observations always are subject to ourbeliefs, hopes, fears, expectations, and our bias, which might make observations unreliable. People vary in theirpowers of observation, and the reliability of our observations is no better than the reliability of our memories, which as we know can be deceptive. Information printed in papers sometimes is unreliable either, it may be misprinted, or even deliberately distorted. For example, Definitions such as Marxism, Capitalism, Zionism aretotally different in the Oxford Learner's Dictionary of Current English between the original edition and the sanctioned Russian edition. In conclusion, both sources are important. Sometimes one is more important than the other in accordance withspecific circumstances. For example, when we make a general survey about a certain subject, we may prefer rich references in library. On the other hand, if we want to know more specific details, we had better refer to experiences such as results of carefully designed experiments.[377 Words]7. How do movies or television influence people's behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer. The impact that modern mass media such as movies or televisions has had on our daily life, and society in general, is undeniable. No doubt it will become even greater as the scope of mass media continues to grow, and as the relevanttechnologies become more and more sophisticated, and so fascinating that virtually nobody will be able to escape.Already, it can be seen how western movies are exercising influence on our youth generation: they grow long-hair regardless of their sex, commonly part of which are dyed in gold; they wear jeans in each and every season, usually knees of which are deliberately tattered; boys are fond of earrings or other odd pendants; and girls are keenon Marlboros and weird coarse languages. The major means that mass media influence the public is by creating topics of discussion in the society. Mass media offers people (the consumers) issues to talk and think about. Titanic had brought a worldwide uproar by itsextolling and of fascinating immortal love; Prime Color and Wag the dog met the national debate on right and duty of the president of the United States. Antiwar movies such as Tears of the Sun and All Quiet On The Western Frontamong numerous others have been raising the question that is any war really to uphold justice or is it really worthythat an individual makes sacrifices to his country and at the same time ignores his own family or his personal values?Mass media also shapes our understanding of what is important and what is not important (to know). The"important" issues are to be found on the first pages of the newspaper (in the beginning of a television program). The "not important" stories are the ones that are not being told at all. The "not very important" stories are probably very short and hidden in the last pages. In fact censorships present all mass media including its distributing meanssuch as the Internet. By prearranging public issue, the mass media makes decisions for us. Even though there are critical thinking individuals in any society, they are definite minority; the public in whole in deed lack skills ofcritical thinking, and therefore they are often led by the media. In brief, mass media, by offering topics and affecting the ways in which we discuss "the important issues”, has a strong influence on our perception of the truth, of the world or of the structure of our society,we have to admit that it has a role in our lives as a source of information, experiences, entertainment, amusement and relaxation.[431 Words]8. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. While television has been somewhat harmful in its effects, it has hardly "destroyed" communication among friendsand family, although for some people, the assertion that television has destroyed communication among friendsand family seems true.Television, invented in last century, with its wide availability, increasingly prosperous programs, becomes one ofthe most powerful means of communication in the history, and is more and more difficult to ignore. Television is as much a part of our lives as are our meals, work, or school; studies consistently show that the average Americanchild spends almost as much time watching television as does she in school. We all have only 24 hours a day and it is clear that the more time one spends on watching television, the less time one does with his or her family and friends. Hence we see the passage in the newspaper or magazine titled "Television took my husband away from me."Tempting as such claim might be, it is hardly true. It is not television took her husband away from her, but theincreasing pressures of modern life did it. We have no definite evidence to say people nowadays endure morepressures than did their counterparts in the past, but it is absolutely true that people nowadays undergo greatpressures that come from various directions, including work, school, economy, and so forth. Investigations showthat people who earn more than 50, 000 yuan annually spend at least 60 hours on work per week, much more than those who earn 20,000 yuan annually. Today a bachelor degree may no longer guarantee a well paid job, more andmore companies post their want ads claiming that applicants must have at least master degrees, which take two or three years longer. In a word, people nowadays have very little time for anything; television is merely among many other factors thataffect communication, and is definitely not the main cause of degradation. It seems that the more one is educated, the more one is aware of the deleterious effects that excessive television causes, and either deliberately avoid it oractually do not enjoy it. On the other hand, there really are many people addictive to television. But the fact is,were television not existent, surely these people would have found other escapes, such as alcohol or gambling, for example. In other words, people always find a way to do what they want to do.Therefore, I do not agree that television has destroyed communication among friends and family.[419 words]9. Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.People seldom agree with each other even in such trivial issues as preference between a big city and a small town. It’s a little bit haste to say that it is better to live in a big city than to live in a small town, or vice versus.Living in a big city has several benefits. First, there’re more job opportunities readily available in big cities than ina small town. Furthermore, not merely there are more job positionsin big cities, the qualities of the position are much higher as well. In addition, the pay is more decent. Second, children are supposed to be able to receive aneducation with a higher quality compared with their counterparts who live in a small town. For families, children's education is always put in the first place. Finally, living in a big city has a superior overall living standard to that ina small town. There are more commodities and services in city markets; there are more public utilities available inbig cities; there are even much more television channels in big cities. However, living in a small town also has some advantages. People who live in a small town often have a much comfortable life style. Most of them are immune from suffering of high working stress. Although the average payis much less than that of big cities, the price of daily necessities, such as vegetables or meat, is usually more inexpensive. Instead of suffering loneliness which is prevalent in big cities, children might grow up more healthilybecause of harmonious relationship among residents in small town.People in a small town do not have to get up so early in the morning because there has been no traffic jam, and no body drive so fast in a small town as to cause accidents. They might have fewer channels in television, but they have more friends readily available to chat or entertain with.According to my current situation, although I am longing for thecozy atmosphere and relationship amongneighbors and friends which almost only exist in big cities, I have chosen to live in one of the biggest cities in my country --- Beijing, since I have found a pretty good job here, and a decent pay. I think I would prefer living asmall town when I get retired one day.[392 Words]17. Some people think that they can learn better by themselves than with a teacher. Others think that it is always better to have a teacher. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons to develop your essay.Whether we need a teacher or not depends on circumstances. The relationship between a teacher and a new subjectis somewhat similar to that between a tour guide and an unknown city. When we come to an unknown city for the first time, we definitelyneed a tour guide. We might have a detailed map, but it is unlikely functional – it isn't surprised that we can hardly interpret those mysterious symbols.Likewise, when we are beginners, it is wise to learn with teachers. They can tell us where to begin with, what we should do, and which reference we should choose. When we confront difficulties, we can ask them for help, andtheir advices will always be tremendously helpful. With teachers' assistance, we might learn easier, faster, andmore interestingly. After a period of time, we have learned a lot. We now know the city pretty well, even though there still are many places we haven't been. It doesn't matter. Now that we are able to recognize those mysterious symbols on the map, what we need perhaps is not a tour guide but a more detailed map. Similarly, we need richer references for learning.Yes, there are still many fields unexplored; they are, nevertheless, no longer puzzling. The task is simple: we willexplore them one by one, little by little. If we are working on a certain skill, practice more; if we are preparing a test, practice more; whatever we are learning, just remember, like people always say, practice makes perfect. After another period of time, we might have become others' tour guide, but we still want to know more. We want to know which restaurant is the most decent, which bookstore is the most professional, which coffee shop is the most classical. Even the most comprehensive map doesn't have adequate information. We again need experts. In learning, it's much the same. We need experts to consult for specific problems. Furthermore, the most beneficialmerit of consulting experts is that we can not merely refer to them but even discuss with them in depth. As is oftenthe case, a solution for a complex matter is not waiting for usright there and then, sometimes it comes out of inspirations of discussion. In short, having a good teacher is always better than having none, but the importance of a teacher varies fromperiod to period, from stage to stage.[400 Words]21. In general, people are living longer now. Discuss the causes of this phenomenon.Among various factors that contribute to today's longevity of people are three most obvious ones: the improvementof food conditions, the development of modern medical technology, and finally current stability of economy in ourcountry. Food conditions are better than before and are still being developed with a rapid pace.First of all, foods are more hygienic. People today drink untainted mineral water, sterilized skim milk, which arecheaply supplied in supermarkets. Furthermore, foods are more nutrient. Not to mention various carefully designednutrient products, people can just ignore the possibility of being dystrophic, in that they can keep nutrient balanceby simply taking a cheap pill of vitamin compound every day. Another essential improvement that contributes to people's longevity is swiftly developing medical technology. Development of modern technology has always been amazing. Certain diseases such as tuberculosis, pneumonia, and dysentery are now easy to remedy with lowexpenses, but in the past, they are all probably lethal ones. The dental technology seems developed little except itsexorbitantly charged bill, yet the simplest technology contributesto people's longevity most. It is not difficult to imagine that if an individual who lived in the past got a toothache, without certain dental care which is common today, he was certainly in an awful prospect: he might even die of a toothache!Current societal and economic stabilization is also a very indispensable factor. People have less pressure in a more stable society, the less pressure they suffer, the healthier they are. Today's ideal stabilization even provides peoplean opportunity to secure their future – buy insurances. Various types of insurances are readily available, which make people feel safe, and have to a large extent reduced people' anxieties, and therefore indirectly contributesignificantly to longevity of people.[274 Words]24. A person you know is planning to move to your town or city. What do you think this person would like and dislike about living in your town or city? Why.If my friend Joey wants to move to Beijing, I think she will definitely like this greatest city in our country, eventhough she might find something she dislikes. The weather might be one thing that she dislikes. The weather in Beijing is characterized by dry climate and it is much windy and dusty than that of Guangzhou city. Joey is verysensitive about her skin, so she will definitely hate dusty winds in Beijing. Moreover, Beijing's winter is far toomuch colder than that of Guangzhou, it might take Joey, as manyother people came from the South, a very long time to get accustomed to.Nevertheless, she might well enjoy winter in the North, since she has never seensnowflakes in reality.I remembered the shining of yearning and eager in her eyes when I once told her what winters in the North looklike. She might be always irritated by heavy traffic in Beijing, though taxis in Beijing cost much less than in Guangzhou. When I was in Guangzhou, seldom was I trapped by traffic jams. It must be ridiculous for her to havespent more than two hours and still didn't arrive at the destination which is merely 10-kilometer away. And the most ludicrous thing is, even if you possess a private car, it is more likely to be useless, for parking lotsare always crowded, which means more time is to be wasted. One good news for her is that the bus system and subway system in Beijing are well developed and more convenient, and an even more delight one is that she won'thave to bear that odor of bromhidrosis owing to burning weather as she once experienced in buses of Guangzhou. What she will definitely love is the cultural ethos of the city. Beijing has a history probably longer than any other big city in China. To visit all historical landscapes in Beijing, she will need at least three years, no kidding! Beijing has the most famous and excellent universities, the largest libraries, the richest museums, yet mostimportant of all, her best friend! Amazingly, in this aged city, people are sometimes more international. Joey is especially fond of art, and Beijing is the right place for her, which is much frequented for concerts of international singers or other musicians, and she will even be able to attend CuiJian's private concert in a coffee shop on a rainy autumnweekend.[407 Words]27. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should sometimes do things that they do notenjoy doing. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. We live in a world in which every one wants to be successful. Nothing is wrong about the desire to be No. 1, andthere is no doubt that being successful is enjoyable. There really is something wrong, nevertheless, to think wecould be finally successful by only doing things that we do enjoy doing. People often are amazed by the gloriousappearance of a skyscraper, at the same time, they should be conscious of the fact that the skyscraper had taken a long time to construct, maybe much longer time to design, and possibly even several workers' lives during the constructing process! We may categorize things into two groups, the enjoyable and the unenjoyable; at the same time, another categorycan be made: the necessary and the unnecessary. The point is, things that are necessary are not always enjoyableand things that are enjoyable sometimes may be unnecessary. Doing things that are necessary rather than those that are merely enjoyable is not only helpful but it might also be indispensable for individual success. We all admireeven envy those who now have attained great achievements, such those famous stars as, Jacky Chen, Jet Li, forexample. We should, however, be aware of the exorbitant prices they have paid for their present glories. JackyChen once told that when he was still a teenager, he and hispartners were required to practice more than 12 hours a day; and it was said that Jet Li was sent to be an apprentice when he was hardly four years old! Apparently, thoseseemingly cruel hardships had turned out to be the best gifts years later. But for yesterday's struggle, today's gloriescould not exist.Things that are both enjoyable and necessary or both unenjoyable and unnecessary seldom exist. We may dislikesome curriculums in university, such as mathematics or history, but they are necessary; we may prefer leisure times to work days, but the latter are necessary. The list will go on and may be an endless one. Pursuing a successful life is nothing more than making wise decisions; by "wise" we mean the choice of doing the necessary first.[353 Words]33. You have received a gift of money. The money is enough to buy either a piece of jewelry you like or tickets to a concert you want to attend. Which would you buy?It seems not a difficult decision for me. But if I was given thegift of money in different time, I would have different answers. If I was given the money when I was in my high school, I will buy a ticket to a concert. I had been longing forattending concerts of famous artists to enjoy those transcendent pieces such as saxophone of Kenny G., rock androll of Cuijian, and romantic songs of Luo Dayou. Unfortunately I just was not able to afford those exorbitantprices. The money I was given should be better if enough for several tickets, for that means I could take along my best friends, whose situations were much similar to mine. If I was given the money when I was in the university, I will buy a fine piece of jewelry, and give it to my girl friend as a casual present, for we might enjoy a certain concert, but hardly could it be permanently impressive. Memories are always not reliable. We tend to simply forgetany thing – at least memories are somewhat distorted – if time past long enough. But if I bought my girl friend apiece of jewelry, not costly though it might be, it would be a perfect reminder, being never changed. If I was given the money recently, it would only make me feel funny.I don't want to go to concerts anymore, because I became more and more reluctant to present in crowd public places, besides I have bought a super Hi-Fiwhich always brings me identical pleasure. And I don't want to buy any jewe lry, for it is meaningless for a manwho is now solitary. Nevertheless, if I was forced to accept some money as a gift – it hardly happens – I might buysome books, after all, reading always makes me relaxed and amazed.[312 Words]40. The expression "Never, never give up" means to keep trying and never stop working for your goals. Do youagree or disagree with this statement? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.Near in the end of the Second World War, Churchill delivered his famous and the shortest speech: Never, Never Give Up. British as well as people in many other countries were tremendously encouraged, and finally wentthrough the hardest period in human history. To never give up, represents a strong and positive attitude of the life. Some people are readily to quit when they feel they cannot endure the difficulties of some work or they think they cannot find a way to finish the required task. Such people usually become upset and disappointed of failure and lose their self-confidence, although theyvirtually can do every thing well. In case of acquiring second language, most people failed simply because they had given up.Acquiring second language might be the easiest task among diverse academic curriculums, because one can besuccessful only by plain repetition, though it is pains-taking and time-consuming. Never give up. Such strongbelief often gives us the second chance. The fact that we failed somewhere does not mean we are going to fail every where, and especially it does not necessarily mean that we are deprived of opportunities to win there. Thereprobably even always is a second chance. Many successful people did fail before. Yu MinHong, the founder of New Oriental School, was able to study in Peking University only after three years' attempts. He wasn't reckonedas successful after graduation, among many signs is the fact that almost all his classmates went abroad while he was each and every time refused by officials in visa-granting office for unexplained reasons. Yet he never gives up, which makes his later success inevitable.Psychology teaches us that we do get what we want, if we knowexactly what we want and want the right thing. First of all, we must make sure that our clearly defined goals are achievable, and that our carefully designed meansare practicable. A superficial claim like I want to be a millionaire brings nothing. And an unrealistic goal like inventing a perpetualmotion machine is absolutely meaningless. But if we want to acquire a second language, it is either realistic or meaningful. By careful planning, and relevant persistence we have no reason to fail. And numerous examples tell us that even if the methods are problematic, many still finally attain great achievements. Therefore, in most cases, "Never, never give up" is really something that we should always bear in mind.[392 words]42. What is a very important skill a person should learn in order to be successful in the world today? Choose one skill and use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.People succeed not merely because they have one or more certain skills. However, if I have to choose one skillwhich is supposed to be useful to success, I think it should be the ability to convince or persuade others.By convincing or persuading we get what we want from others. When we were children, we always managed topersuade our parents to buy us sugar candies; when we were in the high school, we had to persuade our classmatesto play with us; when we applied for a job after graduation, we had better be able to successfully convince the employer that we are qualified employees. Besides, some day, we will all have to convince a person whom welove that we are in deed outstanding husbands or excellent wives.。

Your city has decided to build a statue or monument to honora famous person in your country.Who would you choose? Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice. If my city has decided to build a statue to honor a famous person in my country, I would choose a late singer, Teresa Teng. She was born in 1950s, and died of a severe asthma attack at age 41 in May 1995 while holidaying in Chiang Mai, Thailand, triggering an outpouring of grief among her legions of fans in Asia and elsewhere.During her brilliant stage career, favored by fans all over Asia, she moved millions of people. Her famous songs include "sweet", "story of small town", and "the moon represents my heart", etc.It was said that it was her who introduced several generations in China to a certain field of popular music. Her songs have accompanied the growth and development of many people in China. In the home of these generations' soul, her sweet voice has become immortal beauty and memory.Although she's gone, her sound of singing has never vanished. She is constantly commemorated; from Beijing to Taipei, Hong Kong to Singapore, her ubiquitous fans observe her commemoration from time to time, cherishing her incredible beauty, and her voice that sounds to come from heaven. Her sweet songs made her a legend, and are still regularly heard on radio, and continue to have a following in Chinese communities all over the world. She should be remembered not only because of her beauty and voice, but also because of her great charity. She founded "Teresa Teng Foundation" during her lifetime. The purpose of the foundation is to cultivate and support gifted artists, and at the same time the foundation includes a trust to distribute scholarship to make surethat art students have opportunities to accomplish what they actually can.Every year, The Teresa Teng Foundation also send a great amount of money as a charity to help homeless children. And these activities are supported by her fans all over the world.3. Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other countries to adopt.Explain your choice, using specific reasons and examples. My favorite custom from Chinese culture that I wish that other countries would adopt is "Respect the Old,Love the Young." These two ideas have been part of traditional Chinese culture for thousands of years, but they are more important than ever in contemporary Chinese culture. If adopted by Western countries, these two traditional attitudes could help them solve some of their social problems. One major problem in many Western countries is what to do with old people when they can no longer take careofthemselves. They love and respect the older generation, and consider them wise.Western people believe that living with one's own parents is inconvenient and embarrassing.Instead of respecting old people, some think that they are stupid and ugly. When Western families' parents get old, they would rather send them into nursing homes and retirement homes than live together with them.Only old and sick people live in these places and they are considered depressing,in the worst cases they might seem like a prison to their inhabitants.Old people in the West would be much happier if they adopted these traditional Chinese attitudes.Juvenile delinquency is another serious social problem in Western cultures. Its causes can also be traced back to a lack of respect for old people and love for young people.Children are not taught to respect the wishes of their parents and instead value their relationships with their friends more.Because in many Western families both parents have jobs outside of the home, children often lack adequate supervision. Chinese families, by contrast, often have at least one parent, or a grandparent at home to take care of and love the children. Children without proper guidance and love from a young age might start to smoke, drink, use drugs, and commit crimes. This occurs much less frequently in China because people pay more attention to theirchildren and have the children's grandparents nearby to help raise them. The West puts the "Individual" before the "Family". Traditional Chinese culture puts the interests of the Family first, and the Individual second.Chinese mothers and fathers place higher value on their child's development, than on their child's independence.Children place a higher value on then-parents' happiness than on their own convenience. While there are many excellent lessons that Chinese people can learn from the West,Western people would do well to learn from these essential Chinese traditions.4. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Advertising can tell you a lot about a country.Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Advertising does not mean to educate or illustrate.Primarily it is a vehicle for business and it aims to sell products. As a result, the information we can gather from looking at advertisings is quite limited. However, the cultural ideas used to sell commodities reveal a society's value system, and from the nature of the advertising and the product it aims to sellwe can draw conclusions as to which social demography might be the most affluent. In order to be most effective an advertising campaign will make use of the cultural values of a country.Obviously, companies will be able to sell more products if a great many people relate to the goods and the images used to sell them. For example, in a country like the United States where a great percentage of the population is religious, advertisers use expressions such as heavenly, divine, or revelation, because these have connotations that prospectivecustomers will likely identify with.Similarly, advertisers will try to employ fashion models who embody a culture's ideals of personal beauty, because attractive men and women will sell more products than unattractive ones.Companies identify social demographics or parts of society that are most likely to buy their products and design their advertisings accordingly. For example, teenage girls are more likely to buy mobile phones than retired factory workers. Thus companies will make use of fashion trends in their ads and probably pay a famous pop singer a big chunk of money to endorse their product. If the majority of all advertisings in a country are geared towards a specific target market or audience, then this part of the population probably has the most financial resources at their disposal.Although we can learn some things about a country by looking at its advertising we have to remember that this knowledge is limited. After all, advertising is only directed at people who have the means to buy consumer goods.。
托福写作高分范文大全托福备考的过程中,要想写作取得优势,多阅读一些范文是十分有必要的,下面小编给大家带来托福写作高分范文大全,快来学习吧!托福写作高分范文大全1Task:It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?.托福写作模板范文参考:We all crave knowledge, especially in this Age of Information, but what is the best source of knowledge? Are we to believe Albert Camus, who stated” The place we are to get knowledge is in books”? Or are we better served by following Albert Einstein's counsel that “The only source of knowledge is experience”? Although books have their place in one's learning, there is no substitute for experience; indeed, it is experience that is ultimately the most important source of knowledge.First, let us consider the knowledge needed to undertake a profession-for example, that of a physician. Knowledge gained from books provides the foundation of a doctor's training: study in a medical school begins with a near-overload of reading on anatomy, physiology and maladies both rare and common. However, during this time the medical student is also learning through experience, beginning with dissecting cadavers from almost the first day of medical school. Then, the aspiring physician must complete four years of residency, consisting of actual supervised experience at a hospital in which he or she now must put into practice all of the knowledge he or she has edge of dealing with patients, prescribing medication, and the joy andsadness of saving and losing patients; in other words, it is through experience that these residents finally learn what it means to be a doctor. What about knowledge other than professional expertise-for example, knowledge about another culture? In this realm as well, both books and real-life experience enrich and edify us. For example, Paris is perhaps the most talked-about and written-about city in the world. We could read Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, in which he describes the excitement and intellectual spirit-as well as the restaurants and plentiful red wine-of Paris in the 1920's. Or, we could travel to Paris and eat at bistros, walk across the Pont Neuf and look at the river Seine, visit the Louvre museum, and have adventures of our own. Clearly, most people would have attained more lasting and vivid knowledge by visiting Paris on their own rather than reading about it secondhand. In summary, experience, rather than books, is more central to our quest for learning, especially with regard to professional expertise. With regard to learning about another culture, experience is also irreplaceable. Yet not everyone in the world will have the health or financial resources to carry out a trip to Paris. But many people have access to a local library where they can borrow A Moveable Feast and, at no cost, read Hemingway's vibrant descriptions of Paris. We cannot forget the complementary and unique knowledge afforded by books, but experience is the most precious source of knowledge.托福写作高分范文大全2Task:“When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success.” Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position.托福写作模板范文参考:It is universally acknowledged that hard work is indispensable to success. Scientists toil for years before they make a major discovery. Students study for years before they are accepted by a top university. Self-make people work for a long time, even all their life before they make a fortune. However, less well-known is the essential role that luck plays in achieving one's goals. It is often luck that turns years of hard work into success: people discover and invent things with the help of luck, and so do they become famous and find jobs.First, luck has helped a great number of people invent and discover things. Sir Alexander Fleming experimented with antibacterial substances for nine years before he discovered penicillin. He went through laborious trial and error, but it was on account of luck that he looked at the mold on a piece of cheese and got the idea for penicillin there and then. Benjamin Franklin had been trying to prove his idea that lightning and electricity is the same thing, but it was only in flying a kite that he proved it and the concept of a lightning rod happened to strike him. Also, luck helps people become famous. Let us consider young authors. Many work hard to learn to write. For example, they take writing classes. Besides, they work at menial jobs so as to survive and gain experience. Then one day a lucky writer may have piece of writing published and attract public attention. Or the writer meets an editor at the right time and place. Years of continuous writing brings the writer to the door of success, but one lucky chance, like the shot in soccer, eventually helps him or her reap success. Finally, luck has helped many people secure jobs. One may spend much time writing and sending resumes, readingrecruiting ads, and going to job interviews. One may pond the pavement for a long time before getting a job. However, it is with luck that a job hunter meets the person who will offer a position to him or her, or learns of a vacancy that is not advertised. Being at the right place at the right time often helps one land a job, and this has all to do with luck. One can hardly succeed without hard work, but hard work without luck often leads to nothing. Luck has a great number of people find success. In fact, luck goes hand in hand with hard work.托福写作高分范文大全3Task:Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes. Others believe that going to classes should be optional for students. Which point of view do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position.托福写作模板范文参考:Some people think that university students should be able to choose whether to go to classes or not. I could not disagree more with this idea. Even though students can have excused absences, for example, when they are sick or have something emergent to attend, generally they should be required to go to classes. In fact, attending classes has many advantages, three of them most important: learning from the teacher, interacting with classmates, and developing responsibility. Attending classes has the benefit of receiving the best that a teacher can offer. Good teachers review the difficult and key pints of the material in the course textbook. The best teachers do more than this. They conduct group discussion of the material, and present alternative points of view on the same issue. This increases students' real understanding and critical thinking. Moreover, teachers supplement the textbook material with information provide by guest speakers, which further enhances students' understanding. All this implies that, if students are absent from class, it is tantamount to forfeiting their right to full benefits of teacher-guided learning in class. Going to classes also helps students learn how to work with their classmates. In class, students need to put forward their ideas. They have to take questions from their classmates and when their classmates have a different point of view, they have to defend their own. All this is conducted in a friendly manner. Interaction of this kind teaches students about how to work with other people. Finally, going to classes enables students to develop responsibility. Having to finish all the assigned readings before class helps prepare them for getting a job. So does the requirement of being punctual for class. Similarly, having to complete assignment on time for class helps them to foster responsibility.Admittedly, students can obtain information from books, but they benefit a great deal more when they go to classes. They have the advantage of learning from their teacher, of interacting with other people, and of developing the responsibility required of a good worker as well as a good student. If these skills in life are in no sense optional, how can attending classes in a university be optional?托福写作高分范文大全4托福考试作文题目:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? 新托福tpo28独立写作(共五则范文)第一篇:新托福tpo28独立写作Topic: parents are more involved in their children’s education than the parents in the past.It is not uncommon to see that parents are have incredible zael to participate into their children’s education in many perspectives. At contemporary society, parents always take part in some semilars that are related to students’s study and force their children to join the extra-curricula classes which can help their chldren to improve acdemic performance. Therefore, as far as I am considerd, nowadays, parents’ involvement in kids’ study is much more emphasized than ever pared with the parents in the past, parents at present, have a strong will to make their children more competent in the future career. With the development of the society, the compitition in the modern society is increasingly fierce than ever before.Every parents want their children not only can survive in the compitition but also want them to be successful in the future.Hence, those parents take pains to achieve this ambitions on their own way and consequently, because they think education is the gateway to seccess, they should be involved in their children’ s study and help their children as well.On the contrary, because of the low living standre, parents in the past only think how to bring chilren up and let them survive, so there is no time for them to have such ambitions. Therefore, it is reasonable for us to think that parents no wdays are more interseted in children’s education.Additionally, it is universally acknowledged that in the modern era, parents have a extremely high expectation than in the past.Parents want their children to be versatile and prominent, which lead most part of children can not achieve this goal at all, thus, under this circumstance, parents will help children in personally that of course include preants’ participation in children’s study.By contrast, in the past, parents just make their children free and let them do what they want.Parents will not discipline children unless they make blunder. So, we can draw a conclusion that the untouchable expectation make parents involve more in the children’s study. In conclusion, because the increasingly competitive society and high expectation make parents nowdays have more zeat in children’s study and take part in it actively. But, from my perspective, parents should give enough space for children to manage their own study.第二篇:TPO独立写作题目1.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? whole field of Archaeology in that country. The new guidelines improved the situation in all there areas discussed in the passage.First, the new guidelines state that before any construction project can start, the construction site has to be eXamined by archaeologists to see whether the site is of archaeological interest or value. If the site is of archaeological interest, the neXt step is for the builders, archaeologists and local government officials to get together and make a plan for preserving the archaeological artifacts, either by building around them or by eXcavating and documenting them properly before the construction is allowed to proceed.Second, an important part of the new guidelines is a rule that any archaeological work done on the construction site will be paid for by the construction company not by the government. The construction company has to pay for the initial eXamination of the site, and then for all the work carried out under the preservation plan. This is a whole new source of financial support. The funding from construction companies hasallowed researchers to study a far greater range of archaeological sites than they could in the past.Last, the new guidelines provide a lot of paid work for archaeologists, work that didn’t eXist before.EXpert archaeologists are now hired at all stages of the process to eXamine the site for archaeological value, then to help draw up the preservation plan to do the research in a professional scientific manner and finally to process the date and write reports and articles. The increased job and career opportunities in Archaeology have increased the number of professional archaeologists in Britain, which is now the highest it’s ever been.In the reading passage, the author raises that reading less literature has caused unfortunate effects on the reading public, the cultural general and literature itself. On the contrary, the professor strongly contradicts with it.To begin with, according to the reading passage, the author mainly talks about reading less literature cannot provide readers with intellectual stimulation.By contrast, the lecturer disagrees with it and she reasons that a book doesn’t have to be literature to be intellectually stimulating.Science books, history and political analysisaren’t literature but they are often of high quality and some of those books are just as creative and well-written as novels and poems. So don’t assume that someone who isn’t reading literature isn’t reading a good book.To be followed, the reading passage indicates that the culture is in decline. However, the speaker holds the opposite opinion and she says that people are not just spending less time in literature and they are spending less time with books in general. However, today, there are many culturally valuable material that isn’t written such as a brilliant song and good movie.People are not wasting their time when they listen to good songs and watch good movies. Those non-literal activities will not lower the culture.Even some of those creative forms can speak more directly to contemporary concerns than literature does.Lastly, the writer in the reading part says that it is the readers’ fault to lead to the less support for literature.By comparison, the listening material presents a totally different opinion that it is the authors’ fault because today’s literature is intended to be difficult to understand. So don’t assume the earlier’s generations of readers would read a lot modern literature today.满分托福综合写作范文In 1990, new rules and guidelines were 托福备考之独立写作满分范文必备Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home. Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You canuse margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food because you paid for it.It’s true that eating out is convenient. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best.托福备考之独立写作满分范文必备2task:It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.托福备考之独立写作满分范文:A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. They could enjoy themselves more easily withoutspending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support the building of a movie theater in my neighborhood.托福备考之独立写作满分范文必备3task:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Dancing plays an important role in a culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.托福备考之独立写作满分范文:Around the world, people gather to explore their emotions through dance. The dances are created as part of celebrations, as religious services, as preparation for challenging hunts and warfare and to express sorrow (less often than the other situations). Indeed, dance does play an important role within a culture and reveals a wide range of information about the characteristics of a culture. Three of the most revealing aspects of dance are the nature of the culture’s symbols and art forms revealed in costumes and equipment, the body language (moves and gestures) which give information about social contact behaviors and frequently the style of preferred music for the culture. Ethnic dances, and certainly popular dancing, anywhere around the world have associated preferences for costumes and special clothing.Through dancing, the participants are able to reveal and express their chosen role in the garments they choose; social roles in the dance are shown public ally to the observers as well as the other dancers. Frequently dancers utilize objects like swords or sticks or hoops or musical instruments to further reveal information about their role in the social story portrayed in the dance. Items such as special headwear and jewelry are further examples of the garments that in general express preferences and culturally significant details about the particular culture.Dancers, by the very nature of the activity, physically express beliefs and attitudes associated with their specific culture. In many dances the participants are modeling typical activities of their culture and thus imparting instructions and historical information to the audience. In other dances, one can see expressions of deep emotion: love, worship, grief, strength, anger, etc. and thus obtain clues about the inner feelings of the culture’s individuals. Dance provides an opportunity for others to witness some of the special behaviors associated with activities in the culture. Also, dance is a (usually) public statement so that observers can see how members of the culture treat those who are older members ofthe opposite sex, more respected members, etc.The third aspect of dance that reveals much about a culture is the music or singing that is typically a part of the event. Observers can see evidence of the of the types of instruments characteristics of the culture, and who plays these instruments as well as how they are used --instruments may be associated only with special events and thus transmit valuable cultural information. Frequently singing is part of a dance program, and again an observer has an opportunity to observe who is singing and the nature of the voices. I found this aspect of dance particularly fascinating during a brief time I spent in a rural village in Zimbabwe a few years ago.Dancing is indeed a very important aspect of any culture. It provides a communal opportunity for members of the culture to artistically express emotions while acting out typical activities and concerns in their world. For outsider observers, many valuable details about the culture are revealed.托福备考之独立写作满分范文必备4task:Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.托福备考之独立写作满分范文:The Advantages of City LifeThere are undeniable advantages to both life in a big city and in a small town. The former offers more excitement and convenience while the latter offers a cleaner, quieter and often friendlier place to live. However, despite the advantages of small town life, I prefer to live in a big city for several reasons.First, life in the city is more convenient. More goods are available and stores are open later. Also, there is better public transportation so it is easier to get around. I can find almost anything I want easily in the city. Second, there are more ways to spend leisure time in the city. There are many places I can go to meet friends and have fun. Finally, and most importantly, the city offers more educational and career opportunities. The city often attracts the best teachers and the best companies. There is also a wider choice of jobs so it is easier to move up the career ladder. For all of these reasons, I prefer to live in the city. Although I sometimes miss the fresh air and quiet life of a small town, nothing can make up for the opportunities that the city offers me. If one wants to be successful, I believe the best place to live is the city.托福备考之独立写作满分范文必备。
