9.结束的时候千万不可以说that is all。

Presentation Skill: Top 7 Tips for Making the Most of Your Presentation Practice

By Debbie Bailey

Believe it or not, preparation is a better determinant of presentation success than knowledge, experience, or even talent. The best presenter is almost always the presenter who is the most prepared. Even so, there are a lot of conflicting ideas about what constitutes thorough presentation preparation. So what exactly is thorough preparation? Here are seven straight forward tips to increase the effectiveness of the time you invest in your practice.

Practice Delivery Out Loud. Practice is NOT mentally rehearsing your presentation on the drive over to the presentation or even thinking about your presentation while tossing and turning at night. Both of these are something, but not practice. A lot can happen between thinking about what you want to say and actually getting the words to come out of your mouth coherently. If you don’t actually practice speaking out loud, when the time comes, you may struggle to articulate your mentally well rehearsed thoughts. To the audience, this struggle will appear to be lack of preparation.

Try to Conduct Your Practice in a Situation Similar to the Real Speaking Venue. Whenever possible, conduct your practice in a situation that closely mirrors the real presentation. For example, if you will be speaking in front of a large group in an auditorium or large conference room, try to practice in a large room filled with as many audience recruits as possible. Why? Research indicates that if your practice closely mirrors your real presentation, once you are in the actual presentation your brain will think you have done this before. Besides practice, the next most important ingredient in your success is experience.

Practice in Front of Real People. If you can’t find any audience recruits at work, ask your spouse, best friend, or if all else fails, your pet to listen to your presentation. Interacting with a live audience is an important part of your practice. It helps you not only rehearse (排演)your delivery, but gain experience reading and reacting(反应的) to the silent messages your audience is sending you about their understanding, their likes, and their dislikes.

The Mirror is Your Friend. Even after you’ve practiced in front of an audience, continue to rehearse in front of the greatest critic最挑剔的人 of all, yourself in the mirror. The mirror is a WONDERFUL if underused presentation practice tool. It will allow you to see and hear your delivery live and make decisions about how to enhance增强 your style. Remember, when it comes to practicing your presentation, the mirror really is your friend.

Practice From Beginning to End Without Stopping. Practice all the way through the presentation without stopping—even if you make a mistake. Most presenters have a tendency to stop their practice each time they make a mistake. Besides reinforcing加强 this negative practice, when you continually stop and start over you get very good at the beginning of the presentation, but can’t deliver an effective conclusion because you’ve rarely made it to the end of the presentation. As the second most remembered part of your presentation, it is important to have a strong, well-rehearsed close.

Practice With Your Props. If you are using visual aids such as a PowerPoint slide show, make sure you practice with your slides. Visual aids of any kind add another layer of complexity to presentation and require practice

to use effectively. Practicing with your slides will help prepare you for the things that inevitably go wrong and help you avoid unprofessional behaviors such as not knowing how to advance your slide show or how to put the slide show in the proper view for display.

Do it One More Time. After you feel you’ve done it well in practice and are happy with your performance, practice one more time to make sure your success wasn’t just a happy accident. All in all, depending upon you and your content, you may need to practice your presentation delivery out loud 5 to 10 times. Yes, that’s right, you might have to practice out loud up to 10 times, but don’t worry, your audience’s thundering applause will make the effort worthwhile!

Along with training some of the most successful companies in Corporate America, Debbie has also taught Presentation Skills for United States Marines, San Diego State University, and UCLA Extension.

比如说当你介绍:“There are mainly 3 points....”

To Be a Real Daughter We all know that yesterday was Mother’s Day. And I want to ask how many of us give a phone call to mother at least to give them a simple blessing? If you do, put up your hand, please. Well, that’s good. Okay, today I want to talk something about daughter and mother. At the afternoon of the day before yesterday, I had a talk with my mother though the phone. Before she called me, I was thinking to call her, but I was also worried about disturbing her middy rest. So about four o’clock, she gave a call to me. She said she was just in the bed to wait for my elder sister to go home, there was nothing to do, and she was just felt boring. At first, I sent my good wishes to her and then we had a chit-chat. I told her to live a happy life and wait for me to support her after I graduate from school. She seemed unhappy on hearing this. She told me that I would change when I have my own life. That sounded a little ear-piercing but it is somewhat of the reality. That indeed aroused my thinking. How many children become unfilial when they grow up, especially when they get married? If you do the research, you will find the number is amazing. We often watch TV over meal, and usually witness somebody who again mistreat their parents is exposed by the media. We may say, oh, shit! How can they be like that! How rotten! Why did parents raise them painstakingly? When saying this, whether we do any self-examination? Whether we respect our parents as what we should? Whether we care about parents a lot just as a real child should do? Let’s come back to the question above, why did my mother say like that when I promise to look after her after my graduation? She told me the reason. That was a thing happened last week. After the May Day, my mother and I went back to my elder sister’s. It was raining that day, and mum took something to my sister. The carton was a little heavy. When we were waiting for the bus, she went to a neighbor who ran a restaurant in the street and tried to borrow a thicker rope for I was hurt by the thin rope, but she was in vein, as a result, she was too hurry to leave her umbrella in the neighbor’s in order to get the bus, so she asked me to call my cousin to took back the umbrella from the neighbor.

Introduction(简介) 演示内容的简要介绍。 3.

Summary示例

Writing a Summary The goal of this exercise is to be able to write a summary of the following article using around130words. Of all the games held throughout Greece, those staged at Olympia in honor of Zeus are the most famous. The Games, like all Greek games, were an intrinsic part of a religious festival.Held every four years between August6and September19,they occupied such an important place in Greek life that time was measured by the interval between them---an Olympiad.Although the first Olympic champion listed in the records was one Coroebus of Elis,a cook, who won the sprint race in776BC,it is generally accepted that the Games were probably at least500years old at that time.According to one legend they were founded by Heracles, son of Alcmene. The Games were held at Olympia in the city-state of Elis,on a track about32metres(35yards) wide. The racing length was one stade,a distance of about192metres(210yards)which was one length of the track. At the meeting in776BC,there was apparently only one event, the stade, but other events were added over the ensuing decades.In724BC a two-length race, diaulos, roughly similar to the400-metre race, was included and four years later the dolichos,a long-distance race possibly to be compared to the modern1500-or even5000-metre event, was added.Wrestling and the pentathlon were introduced in708BC.The latter was an all-around competition consisting of five events---the long jump, javelin throw, discus throw, foot race, and wrestling. Boxing was introducing in688BC,and in680a chariot race.In648the pancratium,a kind of all-strength,or no-holds-barred,wrestling was included.Kicking and hitting were allowed;only biting and gouging(thrusting a finger or thumb into an opponent's eye)were forbidden.Between632and616BC events for boys were introduced. And from time to time further events were added including contests for fully armed soldiers, for heralds, and for trumpeters. The program must have been as varied as that of the modem Olympics, although the athletics(track and field)events were limited:there was no high jumping in any form and no individual field event, except in the pentathlon. Until the77th Olympiad(472BC)all of the contests took place on one day;later they were spread, with, perhaps, some fluctuation, over four days, with a fifth devoted to the closing ceremony presentation of prizes and a banquet for the champions.Sources generally agree that women were not allowed as competitors or,except for the priestess of Demeter,as spectators. In most events, the athletes participated in the nude. The Olympic Games were originally restricted to free-born Greeks. The competitors, including those who came from the Greek colonies, were amateur in the sense that the only prize was a wreath or garland. The athletes underwent a most rigorous period of supervised training, however, and eventually the contestants were true professionals. Not only were there substantial prizes for winning, but the Olympic champion also received adulation and unlimited benefits from his city.Athletes became fulltime specialists---a trend that in the modem games has caused a long and bitter controversy over amateurism.

1-2 XUANXUAN Hello everyone, today I want to show you a part of how the earth was made, and mainly talk about Yellowstone. As continents shift and clash, volcanoes erupt, and glaciers grow and recede, the Earth’s crust is carved in countless fascinating ways, leaving a trail of geological mysteries behind. And one of the greatest is Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. This is one of the world’s most geologically active places, shaken by up to 5000 earthquakes every year, and with more geysers and hot springs than in the rest of the world combined. Scientists studying Yellowstone are uncovering a violent past. Carved water, crushed by ancient glaciers and blasted by the biggest volcanic eruptions ever known on the planet. And even today, Yellowstone is one of the most dangerous places on Earth.
