The idea of what shaking the head means is not always the same in different countries. Maybe some visitors would be surprised when they first came to India. When talked to an Indian, he would often shake his head. The visitors might think that the Indian did not like what they said. But, in fact, they would be completely wrong.
Indians always shake their heads when they talk to each other. It does not have the same meaning as our “No”. If someone wants to visit India, he should know this, or it will give him some trouble.

Students often want to practise their English outside class. One of the best ways of practising your English is to speak to foreigners. Most of the students asks, "Is it OK to talk to foreigners when we meet them in the street?"
The answer is yes and no, but probably no! If you see a foreigner who looks lost, it is polite to ask him or her, "May I help you?" But if not, you should probably let him or her get on with the business. That is, you can talk to a foreigner at some time or place. Feel free to ask him or her questions if a foreigner comes into your school, classroom or your teachers' office.
It's also OK to talk to foreigners in some public places. If you see a foreigner

A friend of mine named Paul received an expensive car from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shining car. “Is this your car, Paul?” he asked.
Paul answered, “Yes, my brother gave it to me for Christmas.” The boy was surprised. “You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish…”He hesitated.
