Unit 1
1-1 My brother, Jimmy, did not get enough oxygen during a difficult delivery,
leaving him with brain damage, and two years later I was born.

6-1 Before the Hanshin earthquake in Japan, there were reports of large
schools of fish swimming near the surface of the water.
6-2 Perhaps most interesting, and most easily measured, is a chemical
change in ground water before a quake.
6-3 Steel seems to be the best material, but not if it is welded to form a rigid
structure.
