The exhausted hiker dragged his legs along the country road.(用具体准确的

The old man sprang from the chair, stormed out of the house and slammed the door behind him.(用一连串生动的词语来表现“生气”)

The younger son inherited his father’s bad habit, spending money like water.(用比喻来表现“陋习”)

The captain rose in front of his crew and commanded, “Prepare yourselve s for the fight!”(用简短有力的语言来表现“命令”)

The girl told the policeman where she had found the diamond ring, adding, “I hope you can find the owner as soon as possible.”(用完整较长的间接引语和直接引语来表现“关切”)

Sandra sat quietly on the rock for hours, thinking of what might have happened if she hadn’t left the group.(直接描写心理,表现“疑惑”)

“How dare you skip class and play computer games all day!” his father yelled.(用语言描写心理,表现“愤怒”)

After failing the exam, Alex let out a sigh, crumbled the test paper into a ball and tossed it into the dustbin.(用动作描写心理,表现“失望”)

The tall policeman, with broad shoulders and thick arms, stood by the door and observed everyone coming into the bank.(直接描写外貌,表现“威慑力”)

Approaching 40, her beauty was fading like a flower in autumn.

I was really amazed at the way she smiled: a mile wide.

The little black figure of the beggar was so out of place among the merry crowd of the Christmas shoppers and glittering well-decorated streets.

It was bitterly cold. All the fish moved south, and even the snow turned blue.(用夸张描写环境,表现天气的“严寒”。

When I spent the last summer with my Grandmother in Warwick, New York, she sent me down to the grocery store with a long shopping list. Staring at all the items on the list, I wondered how I could find anything on the packed shelves around me. But she insisted.

I walked up to the counter. Behind it was a lady like no one I’d ever seen. Thick glasses rested on the tip of her nose. Gray hair was piled on her head.“Excuse me,” I said. She looked up.

“You’re that Clements kid,” she said. “I’m Miss Bee. Come closer an d let me get a look at you.” She pushed her glasses up her nose. “I want to be able to describe you to the policeman if something goes missing from the store.”

“I’m not a thief!” I was shocked. I was too young to be a thief!

“Maybe not, but I can tell you’ve got potential.” She went back to reading her newspaper.

“I need to get these,” I said, holding up my list.

“So? Go get them.” She ignored my need of a favor. “There’s no one here except you and me and I’m not your servant, so I suggest you start looking for the things on that list.”

The store was a puzzle to a seven-year-old, and it seemed to hold all the goods in the world. I complained about this task Grandma had set me to do while trying to find all the items on my list. It took me an hour and a half to do it, and the mean lady behind the counter didn’t even bother to look at me once.

I visited Miss Bee a couple of times a week that summer. Sometimes she sold me an old newspaper instead of the latest one. Sometimes she overcharged me and didn’t seem em barrassed when I pointed it out. Going to the store was more like going into battle, but I survived. By summer’s end the shopping trip that had once taken me an hour was done in 15 minutes. The morning I was to return to Brooklyn, I stopped in to get a soda.

注意:

1. 所续写短文的词数应为150 词左右;

2. 应使用5 个以上短文中标有下划线的关键词;

3. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;

“All right, Miss Potential,” she said. “What did you learn this summer?”

One day after all those years my seven-year-old daughter came to me with homework troubles.

“All right, Miss Potential,” she said. “What did you learn this summer?” “That you’re mean!” Finally I said it, thinking that I didn’t have to deal with her again. To my amazement, Miss Bee laughed. “I know what you think of me,” she continued. “Well, I don’t care! Each of us is put on this Earth for a reason. I believe my job is to teach every child I meet some life lessons to help them.” At such a young age, I wasn’t capable of appreciating the lessons she cl aimed she had given me and I only wished that I had never met her. After checking out, I left.

One day after all those years my seven-year-old daughter came to me with homework troubles. “It’s too hard,” she complained. “Could you finish my math problems for me?” “If I do it for you how will you ever learn to do it yourself?” I responded. Suddenly, I was back at the grocery store where I had learned the hard way to deal with my own business. Had I ever been overcharged since? As my daughter went back to her homework, I wondered: Had Miss Bee really taught me something all those years ago? Sure enough, she didn’t act as a servant but she inspired potential in a seven-year-old.

In a certain store where they sell puddings, a number of these delicious things are laid out in a row during the Christmas season. Here you may select the one which is most to your taste, and you are even allowed to sample them before coming to a decision. I have often wondered whether some people, who had no intention of buying, would take advantage of this privilege (特权).

One day I asked this question of the shop girl, and I learned it was indeed the case. “Now there’s one old gentleman,” she told me, “he comes almost every week and samples each one of the puddings, though he never buys anything, and I guess he never will. I remember him from last year and the year before that, too. Well, let him come if he wants it, and welcome to it. He looks as if he really needs it.”

She was still speaking when an elderly gentleman came to the counter and began looking closely at the row of puddings with great interest. “Why, that’s

the very gentleman I’ve been telling you about,” whispered the shop girl. “Just watch him now.” And then she turned to him, “Would you like to sample them, sir? Here is a spoon for you to use.” The elderly gentleman, who was poorly but neatly dressed, accepted the spoon and began eagerly to sample one after another of the puddings. “This is quite good.” “This is not bad either, but a little too heavy.”

Poor old man! Probably he was too poor in the world and this sampling was the only chance he could get to eat something delicious. Among the crowd of happy-looking Christmas shoppers, the little black figure of the old man seemed pitiful and out of place, and in a burst of benevolence (仁慈), I went up to him and said, “Pardon me, sir. Will you do me a favor? Let me buy you one of these puddings. It would give me such pleasure.”

注意:

1. 所续写短文的词数应为150 词左右;

2. 应使用5 个以上短文中标有下划线的关键词;

3. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;

He was surprised, saying, “Excuse me, I don’t believe I have the pleasure of knowing you. Undoubtedly you have mistaken me for someone else.”

How I regretted having said that!

He was surprised, saying, “Excuse me, I don’t believe I have the pleasure of knowing you. Undoubtedly you have mistaken me for someone else.” And with a quick decision he turned to the shop girl and said in a loud voice, “Kindly pack me up this one here. I will take it with me.” He pointed at one of the largest and most expensive of the puddings. The girl took down the pudding from its stand and started to make a parcel of it, while he pulled out a worn little black pocketbook and began counting out shillings and pennies on to the counter. To save his “honor”, he had been forced into a purchase which he could not possibly afford.

How I regretted having said that! It was too late though, and I felt I was out of place and the kindest thing I could do now would be walk away. “You pay at the desk,” the shop girl was telling him, but he did not seem to understand and

kept trying to put the coins into her hand. And that was the last I saw or heard of the old man. Now he can never go there to sample puddings any more.

3、目前高考听力测试中短文理解大部分是记叙文或讲话稿,所以听录音时 重在听懂每句话的意思和内涵,注意捕捉文中所涉及的人物(who)、事件(what)、时间(when)、地点(where)、原因(why)、方式(how)、程度(how long,how soon,how much)、数字(how many/how much)、选择(which…)

Eg. proverbs; No pains no gains. There is a will there is a way. All roads lead to Rome. It is no use crying over spilt milk. Useful structures It’s time for sth. /to do As far as sb. Know, It’s suggested / said /reported that… There are three members in my family. My father, mother and me. My father is a worker. My mother is a teacher. I’m a student. They are both very busy all days, but they love me so much. I also love them. I often help them with housework.. Yesterday I called on my one of old friends .he was doing his homework. He said he would like to help me with my English. I was very happy at that time . we had a wonderful time. Wonderful! You haven’t made any mistakes, but you should pay attention on your handwriting. If you try your best, you will be successful.

出现特征:在考题中经常出现的词有infer,imply,indicate,conclude,learn from,probably,most likely,prove /according to等。 How is the passage organized? Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage? The author develops the passage mainly by….

On a bright, warm July afternoon, Mac Hollan, a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friends. One of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on, and they would catch up with him soon. As Mac pedaled (骑行) along alone, he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at home. He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday. Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him. “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it wasn’t a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him. Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing open his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase(追赶). Mac was pedaling hard now. He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down. He was a steep uphill climb before him. He knew that once he hit the hill, he’d be easy caught up and the wolf’s teeth would be tearing into his flesh. At this moment, Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They didn’t think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road. A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike. As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf. Mac heard a large vehicle behind him. He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now. Paragraph 1 The car abruptly stopped in front of him. _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ ___________________ Paragraph 2 A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. _____________________________________________________________________

1:Is this school_______ you visited last month? A. one B. the one C. that D. what 【指点迷津】这是一个一般疑问句,如果不用还原法考生会误把this school 分析成定语从句的先行词,反而掉进C项that这个陷进。 This school is you visited last month,考生就可以看出这个定语从句缺少先行词the one和引导词that / which。the one 特指this school,that / which作宾语可以省略。 2:What have we said _______ her so unhappy? A. makes B. to make C. made D. had made

We have said what _______her so unhappy,显然to make 作结果状语。 What we have said _______her so unhappy,就成了主语从句,结果掉进陷阱,误选成C 项made。 2. 1:—Where did you get to know her?—It was on the farm _______we worked.(20XX年山东卷)A. that B. there C. which D. where 【指点迷津】这是一个强调句型,强调地点状语on the farm。 It was on the farm where we worked that I got to know her,考生就可以看出on the farm后where引导了一个定语从句,且省略了that I got to know her这一结构,因此答案是D项where。 3. 将感叹句还原为陈述句 【典型考题】________different life today is_______ what it was 30 years ago! A. How;from B. What a;from C. What;from D. How;with 【指点迷津】这是一个感叹句,如果把句子还原成陈述句Life today is different from what it was 30 years ago.

1. Name________________ It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit (追寻) of the dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him. Over the phone, his mother told him, “Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral(葬礼)is Wednesday.” Memories flashed(闪现)through his mind like an old newsreel (新闻短片) as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days. “Jack, did you hear me?” “Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It’s been so long since I thought of him. I’m sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago,” Jack said. “Well, he didn’t forget you. Every time I saw him he’d ask how you were doing. He’d reminisce (回忆) about the many days you spent over ‘his side of the fence’ as he put it, ” Mom told him. “I loved that old house he lived in,” Jack said. “You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man’s influence (影响) in your life,” she said. “He’s the one who taught me carpentry. I wouldn’t be in this business if it weren’t for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things that he thought were important. Mom, I’ll be there for the funeral.” Jack said. Busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser’s funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away. The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time, which was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture … Jack stopped suddenly. “What’s wrong, Jack?” his Mom asked. “The box is gone,” he said. “What box?” Mom ask ed. “There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he’d ever tell me was ‘the thing I value most’,” Jack said. It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it. “Now I’ll never know what was so valuable to him,” Jack said sadly. 1.
