Course description：
Students are supposed to graduate from the practice of sentence writing to the practice of discourse writing via the study of this course. Students have to analyse the model essays, comprehend the writing features of different styles, take part in class discussions, accomplish some assignments with the help of their teachers, and consequently, they can master the writing skills and methods of different styles, such as narratives, descriptions, expositions and argumentions. In addition, they have to know the way of quotations. The way of outling, drafting, amending and polishing will be instructed; the uses of conjunctions and connectives, and the uses of punctuations will be discussed in the course. Students’ability of analysing and that of problem-solving will be improved in the course.
