Jackson Language School Summer
Opening and Closing Times
The Jackson Language School is open each day except Sunday. There is an English corner also avai1able from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Bellevue Hall across from the school.
Class Size
Classes have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 16 in one class. Classes are equipped with earphones and an electronically controlled listening.
Teachers
Teachers are all experienced and have a minimum of 2 years' experience and at least a certificate in teaching English as a second language. They are all available for teaching if you need it.
Location
The school is located 15 minutes from central London at 34 Inverleith Row, next to the Marks and spender Shopping Center. It is near a bus stop and only a 5 minutes’ walk from the Tube.
Attendance
Students on student visas are expected to attend regularly. Students who are absent more than 60% of the time will be reported to the Student Office. Moreover, if students attend less than 80%,they will not be able to get a certificate from Jackson School. It is also required by the Student Office for visa extension.
Home stay
You are able to stay with a British family if you request so. Jackson has a home stay program that matches 'students and families according to their own requirements and needs. While generally no problems occur students may move from a home stay household if he or she gives a 2-week written notice to the home stay family school.
Language Policy
As the course is an immersion program, students are expected to speak English the entire
time they are at the school. If they speak any language other than English at the school, they may be asked to leave the school for a day.

Bad teeth can be painful -- and worse. They can even be deadly. Infections (感染) of the

Experts at the National Institutes of Health say good dental care starts at birth. Breast milk, they say, is the best food for the healthy development of teeth. Breast milk can help slow the growth of bacteria and acid production in the mouth. But dentists say a baby's gums and early teeth should be cleaned after each feeding. Use a cloth with a little warm water.
Do the same if a baby is fed with a bottle. Experts say if you decide to put your baby to sleep with a bottle, only give the child water.
When baby teeth begin to appear, you can clean them with a wet toothbrush. Dentists say it is important to find soft toothbrushes made especially for babies and to use them very gently.
The use of fluoride (氟化物) to protect teeth is common in many parts of the world. For example, it is often added to drinking water supplies. The fluoride mixes with enamel (珐琅质) , the hard surface on teeth, to help prevent holes from forming.

It’s 5:00 in the morning when the alarm (闹钟) rings in my ears. I get out of bed and walk blindly through the dark into the bathroom. I turn on the light and put on my glasses. The
house is still as I walk downstairs while my husband and three kids sleep peacefully. Usually I go for a long run, but today I choose my favorite exercise DVD Insanity. So what drives me to get out of bed at 5:00 a.m.? What gives me the reason to just say no to ice cream? Commitment. A commitment to change my life with a way that reduces daily worry, increases self -confidence and energy, extends (延长) life and above all
improves my body shape. This is the point where a smile appears on my face as I look at myself in the mirror or try on my favorite pair of jeans that now fit just ri ght. It’s through commitment and sweat that I can make a difference within myself inside and out.

On October 5,2011, around 3 : 00 p. m. ,Steve P. Jobs, the cofounder of Apple, died at his home in Palo Alto, California, aged 56 , six weeks after resigning as CEO of Apple. The death was announced by Apple, the company that Mr. Jobs and his high school friend Stephen Wozniak started in 1976 in a suburban California garage.
Jobs was born in San Francisco and adopted at birth by Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs. Paul Jobs taught his son basic electronics and how to work with his hands. His adoptive mother was an accountant, who taught him to read before he went to school. Asked in a 1995 interview what he wanted to pass on to his children, Jobs replied," Just to try to be as good a father to them as my father was to me. I think about that every day of my life. " Following high school graduation in 1972, Jobs was admitted to Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Although he dropped out after only one semester, he continued taking classes at Reed, sleeping on the floor in friends’ rooms, returning Coke bottles for food money, and getting weekly free meals at the local temple. In the late 1970s, they designed, developed, and marketed one of the first commercially successful personal computers, the Apple Ⅱseries. In 1985 , after losing a power struggle, Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets.
In 1986, he put money in and produced Toy Story (1995), making Jobs Disney’s largest shareholder at seven percent.
Apple’s 1996 buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company. He became a permanent CEO from 2000, developing the iPod, iPhone and iPad products.
