(Mathematics and Applied Mathematics)
一、培养目标
I. Target for English Major Program
本专业培养适应我国社会主义建设实际需要，德、智、体全面发展，受到良好的应用数学基础和计算机技能训练，能运用所学数学知识解决工业生产、工程实际、科学研究等方面的实际问题的应用数学和高科技应用专门人才。
毕业生适宜到科研、生产、工程、管理部门和高、中等学校从事科学研究、科技开发、管理和教学工作；可以继续攻读应用数学及与数学相关的高新技术学科、交叉学科和其他学科的硕士学位。
The program is designed to cultivate the specialists who meet the practical need of socialist construction of our country with an all-round development—moral，intellectual and physical，and are well educated in applied mathematics and computer skills training to solve the practical problems。
The graduates can prepare for many professional roles they might choose —scientific researching，science and technology developing，managing，teaching. And they can advance their education in applied mathematics or other high tech subjects related to mathematics to get a master degree。
二、培养要求
II. Requirements
1、热爱社会主义祖国，拥护中国共产党的领导，努力学习马列主义毛泽东思想，具有为国富民强，民族振兴而奋斗的理想、事业心和责任感，愿为社会主义现代化建设服务，为人民服务。
2、热爱科学事业，养成良好学风，理论联系实际，具有艰苦求实，善于合作和勇于创新的科学精神，具有良好的思想品德和心理素质，遵纪守法。
3、掌握本专业所必需的较系统的基础理论、基本知识和基本技能，受到良好的科学思维训练，具有较宽厚的数学基础，具有较强的自学能力，具有运用数学知识分析、解决工程实际问题或进行应用数学理论研究的初步能力。
4、具有一定的社会主义市场经济知识、管理知识和相关的工程技术知识，懂得一定的社会人文科学知识和国际知识，了解有关科技发展的新方向。
5、掌握计算机的基本原理和编写程序的基本方法，具有较强的计算机应用能力；基本掌握一门外语，能比较顺利的阅读本专业的外文书刊，具有听、说、写的基础。
6、了解体育运动的基本知识，初步掌握锻炼身体的基本技能，养成科学锻炼身体的习惯，身体健康，达到大学生体育合格标准。

3. Mastering the basic theory, knowledge and skills of mathematics. And being able to solve the practical problems with its application.
4. Familiarity with knowledge of socialist market economy, management engineering, and the development trend of technology.
5. Mastering the fundamentals and programming of computer ad mastering a foreign language.
6. Awareness about the basic knowledge of P.E. and form the habit of scientific exercising.
