雅思口语Part1:Work&study 工作和学习work1.Do you work or study?I graduated a few years ago and I’m now in full time employment.2.What is your job?I’m currently an English teacher working for the British Council in Ho Chi Minh City.3.Why did you choose that job?I was previously a lawyer and found it to be really stressful and never had any free time, so after quitting that job I thought teaching might be the complete opposite of being a lawyer, you know not as stressful and more time off.4.Are there lots of English teachers in Ho Chi Minh City?Oh yes! There is a such a big demand for English as a second language here and it’ s also quite a cheap place to live compared to many other big cities in Asia.5.Do you enjoy your job? Most of the time. It’s very rewarding to be able to help people every day and the students here are very hardworking and fun to teach, but you sometimes have lessons that do go so well and the money could always be better.6.Do you get on well with your co-workers?Yes, fine. I don’t really see work as part of my social life, soI don’t socialis e with them, so I suppose I could be more friendly, but it’s just my nature to be a bit colder withcolleagues. I think it’s more professional to be that way.7.What was your first day at work like? There were lots of teachers starting at the same time as me, 10 I think, so we all had a big induction day. The more senior teachers ran workshops with us to familarise us with the different systems they had and then we went for a team dinner in the evening.8.What responsibilities do you have at work? All of the teachers main responsibility is to plan good lessons and then teach them to the best of our ability. On top of that we have several admin. tasks to carry out like mark homework, fill out attendance sheets and write reports.9.Would you like to change your job in the future?Yes, as I said before, I like working by myself, so I would like to be my own boss. I’ m currently developing my own website, so if it’s successful I will leave teaching and work on it full time. This will also give me more time to work on other projects.10.What is your typical day like in work?I normally have 2 or 3 classes in the evening and I start the day by doing all the planning at home. This normally takes between an hour or two depending on the lessons. I then take the rest of the day to spend with my family, before going to work around 3 to print off my materials and then I teach all evening.11.What would you change about your job?As with most English teachers, we have to teach what is on the curriculum and this can mean that you are teaching some things that are quite boring or not very useful for your students, so I would like to have more freedom to teach outside thesyllabus.12.What do you do?Presently, I am working with Fox Traveller as a host for their show that involves travelling around India and discovering its culture and people. We already have covered the southern part of India and now we shall be moving towards the eastern part. The show will go on air in January next year.13.What are your responsibilities at your work place? My main objective is to make sure that we get the information required. So, for instance, if we are travelling to Mysore, instead of talking about the places everyone goes, I need to make sure we cover the places no one ever has. Like the best and the cheapest place to eat. It requires lot of research and I mostly go to the place 10 days before our team arrives.14.How many hours do you work each day?Well, we don’t have any particular routine. Sometimes the work demands us to work ten hours, sometimes more than that, sometimes less. So, it is all on the location and the time it requires to give us the required information. Also, for me this is something that I love, so mostly work doesn’t seems like work.15.Do you enjoy your work?Oh! I love it. The feeling that you get after meeting so many people and talking with them and realizing how happy they are after all the issues they have. I remember we went out to shoot a village in Mysore and initially we thought the people would be very unhappy because of the limitations they had, but to our surprise they were all very happy and it was fun knowing their ways of living.16.If given a chance to change your work place, would you do that?At present, my workplace is great for me. I am loving the people I work with and enjoy the work that I am doing. So as of now, I don’t see myself changing the place. But, may be after some time, if the work is getting repetitive or there is no more learning for me, I may change.17.Is there some other kind of work you would prefer to do?I surely love the work that I do, but may be if time allows, instead of hosting shows I would prefer writing about my experiences of the places I visit. May be because when one writes a lot more gets expressed which is not possible why saying things off in television.18.If you could change your profession, what would you do?Well, I think may be I will open a company that gives equal education rights to people. While travelling, I realized that there are so many children who don’t ge t education, and even if they get it is not of good quality. So, I will open a business that provides good quality education to people who cannot afford it.Study1.Do you work or study?I’m currently a student at Queen’s University, Belfast.2.What do you study?I study law because it’s a really well thought of degree and I’m hoping to pursue it as a career in the future.3.Is it a popular subject at your university?Very popular, in fact it’s one of the most sought after courses. I think there are about 350 people reading law at Queen’s. I think lots of student’s parents want them to study law so they can get a good job after they graduate.4.Do you enjoy studying it?It’s such a huge subject that there will always be parts youlike and parts you don’ t li ke. I find Human Rights fascinating because it can really make a difference to peoples’ lives. On the other hand, modules like Land Law and Equity are really boring.5.Do you get along with your classmates?Yes, they are all really great. Most people like to socialise together in the evenings and this makes us a very tight group. If you know someone socially, it is much easier to work together in class.6.If you could change to another subject, what would it be?I planned to study medicine, but then when I went on work experience I fainted at the first sight of blood, so definitely not that. I’m a real history buff and read books about World War 2 all the time, so I suppose it would have to be Modern History.7.Do you plan to use the subject you are studying in the future?Yes, I’ve already started to apply for jobs as a lawyer. We normally have to secure a job a year before we graduate and then work very hard to get a high overall mark. After that, I will probably do a Masters in law to become a specialist in one particular area.8.What is the most difficult part of your subject? You have to remember lots of legislation and cases and not only remember their names, but also how the affect each part of the law and how they interact with each other. Physically it can also be exhausting because we have to read very dense texts fora few hours every day.9.What would like to study in the future? As I said before, my favourite type of law is Human Rights, so I would like to do a masters in International Human Rights Law. it’s right at the cutting edge of my field and there are also lotsof very high profile cases in the media, so it’s really exciting and something I would like to become an expert in.10.Why did you choose your university?Mostly because it is close to my hometown and most of my friends were going there. I kind of regret it now. It’s a great university, but because it’s so close to home it doesn’t give you much of a chance to experience new things and meet new people. If I were to choose again, I’d stu dy abroad.雅思口语考试中你所不知的那些方法在雅思口语的考试当中,打动考官是至关重要的一点。
剑8雅思口语Test1Part1范文-邻居话题,这个话题不就是现在正在考的话题吗?具体的范文,如下:1. How well do you know the people who live next door to you?重点在于回答“how well”,可以是“very well”,“know my neighbor inside out”或“know nothing about them”。
其实在都市中生活,对自己的邻居不了解、不熟悉完全正常。
但是如果生活在乡村,邻里关系可能就很重要。
2. How often do you see them? [Why/Why not?]重点在于频率“how often”,可以是“very often”,也可以是“rarely”或“never”。
考生还可以进一步讲看到自己的邻居干什么,或自己看到他们后有什么反应,说什么话,做什么事。
3. What kinds of problem do people sometimes have with their neighbors?一起生活难免有矛盾,因为每个人都会有自己的小毛病,别人可能就难以接受,也可能是对社区事务的争论而引发的矛盾等。
总之只要涉及到利益纠纷,就有矛盾。
4. How do you think neighbors can help each other?俗话说的好 ,“远水解不了近渴”(While the grass grows, the horse starves.) 邻居在紧急时刻还是能助一臂之力的,例如火警、抢劫、盗窃等等......剑8雅思口语Test1Part1范文1. How well do you know the people who live next door to you?well, rarely, meet, encounter, come across with, be acquainted with, stranger, amicable, hospitable.2. How often do you see them? [Why/Why not?]everyday, in the morning, at night, once in a while, from time to time, frequently, bump into, run into.3. What kinds of problem do people sometimes have with their neighbors?trouble, quarrel, fight, dispute, conflict, interest, selfish, public space, communal space.4. How do you think neighbors can help each other? While the grass grows, the horse starves; Slow remedy cannot meet an emergency;urgency, lend a hand, come handy, aid, assist, watch over, look after.剑8雅思口语Test1Part1范文1. How well do you know the people who live next door to you?Honestly, I don’t know them well. I guess this is just part of the urban life. Look, I get up at 7 or before 7 every morning to commute to work and come back late every night. You know, it’s a city thing, work, stress, transportation, traffic jam and stuff. And once I get home, I always can’t wait to hit my pillow. So how could I possibly have any free time to care to know who they really are or even to socialize with them? It’ll be all good to me as long as they’re not terrorists or some homicide fugitives.Well, I can’t say I know my neighbors very well, but I guess I do know something about them, like where they’re from and what they do for a living.2. How often do you see them? [Why/Why not?]Though I can’t help bumping into them from time to time, we never really talked. You know, it’s like you just don’t feel like talking to a stranger unless he/she first speaks to you. And I guess he thinks the same about me.I guess it’s quite often. I keep running into them either before work or after work. That’s when we all stand in the hallway waiting for the elevator to come. Then we would talk about just this and that, some small talks.3. What kinds of problem do people sometimes have with their neighbors?Well, I’ve never had any problems with my neighbors or maybe just not yet. But I’ve heard people talk about it from time to time. And it seems to me that people complain about the noise their neighbors make quite a lot. Apart from that, I just can’t think of anything else right now.The biggest problem a lot of people have with their neighbors is the public space in the hallway. Look, I have a neighbor who puts his motorbike in there. Not only does his motorbike make the whole place look bad, but also it’s unsafe in case of emergency, say fire or earthquake. I really hate it.4. How do you think neighbors can help each other? It’s not really easy for neighbors to help each other if they’re not acquainted well. That I mean small help, but I guess neighbors can really come in handy in case of emergency. That’s all I have now in mind at the moment. There are quite a lot of things neighbors can do to help each other from moving some furniture to looking after child, from car sharing to property watching. Anyway,。

雅思口语part1新题之:Rainy days 变题不慌!Rainy days题目参考答案:1. Do you like rainy days? No, not that much to be honest with you, because I mean, when it rains, you can’t really do anything outside, unless you don’t mind getting wet of course! And also for me, I find it a bit of a hassle carrying an umbrella around with me everywhere.I find it a bit of a hassle = I find it an effort = 我觉得有点麻烦2. What do you do on rainy days?Well it kind of depends really, because there are some things I have to do regardless of whether it’s raining or not, you know, like going to lectures and stuff. But when I’m free, I tend to just chill out at home if it’s raining. So for example, I might read a book or watch TV, and I’ll only leave the flat if I absolutely have to!Chill out = relax (used in spoken English)3. Do you think rain is good?Yeah, for sure. I mean, for one thing, it helps get rid of all the dust inthe air. And secondly, it’s good for the natural environment. You know, it helps all the plants and vegetation stay alive. So although I don’t particularly like the rain, I understand the need for it!Vegetation -植物4. Does rain ever affect transportation in your hometown?Yeah, most definitely, because you know, whenever it rains, the traffic always seems to get a lot more congested. I’m not exactly sure why, but I guess it’s probably because cars have to drive slower in the rain.Congested = 拥挤的,堵塞的5. Is there any part of China where it doesnt rain much?Yeah, I’d say there are quite a few areas of the country where it doesn’t rain a lot, the most obvious place being the Gobi Desert, which I guess never gets any rain, what with being a desert and all! And also I’d say the north of China, in general, doesn’t really get all that much rain, at least compared with the south, so a lot of that part of the country is quite dry and arid. The Gobi Desert戈壁What with it being a desert and all – 究竟是个沙漠!On the whole – 基本上,总的来说Arid – 干燥另一版本答案:To tell you the truth, I have no clue about this. I do not give a hoot about geography and the amount of rain in my country. I think the most rainfall is in the North where there is an intricate system ofrivers.6. What effects can a shortage of rain have on people’s lives?Well thinking about it, I suppose one of the biggest affects it can have is on our food supply, because things like fruit and vegetables need water to grow, and rain provides the water. So you know I think it’s pretty safe to say that a shortage of rain is likely to result in a decrease in our overall food supply.I think it’s pretty safe to say = 我觉得可以说……Other effects:It could result in a lack of drinking waterIt could result in the government controlling how much water we can use. For example, I think I’m right in saying that in some parts of Australia, people can only spend a certain amount of time each day having a shower!7. Can you remember a time when it rained particularly heavily in your hometown?Yeah I can. About a year or so ago, we had, like, several days of torrential rain, almost non-stop, and so the whole of my neighbourhood got flooded. You know, the water was like, up to my knees, and so traffic came to a complete standstill. So yeah, that was probably the worst time I can remember.About a year or so ago – 一年前左右Like -(表示思索下面的话或用作口头禅) Some people say like when they are thinking about what to say next or because it has becometheir habit to say it. Torrential rain – 暴雨The traffic came to a (complete) standstill 交通瘫痪了So yeah – 所以嗯,所以说呢,(总结的时候可以用这话开头)8. Do you think the seasons have changed in recent years, compared to the past?Yeah I’d say they have. You know, I think it’s fair to say the summer has got quite a lot hotter, because I mean, it seems to be hitting 40 degrees every year now, and that definitely wasn’t the case in the past. And also the winter isn’t as cold as it used to be, because you know, if I think back to when I was a child, it used to snow quite a lot during the winter, but now it hardly snows at all.I think it’s fair to say – 我觉得可以说It hardly … at all – 几乎不……that definitely wasn’t the case in the past – 以前绝不是这样的9. Does it rain a lot in your hometown?Well, it depends on the season. In winter and spring, there is a dearth of rain associated with the arid weather. In contrast, it is usually raining cats and dogs in summer and august, causing loads of troubles for people travelling on the road.rainy days相关高分词汇refreshing 新奇的e.g.We find it refreshing to hang out after a rainy day. 雨过之后出门会觉得空气都很新奇。
