Today I am told to sing a song with one of my classmates. I can’t decide to choose which song to sing.
I like singing but when I sing English songs, I’m very nervous because I don’t o ften sing English songs. In my impression, my spoken English is not very standardized. But there is a common saying says: A penny saved is a penny earned. So I think if I practice more and more, I will speak it well.
It is a sunny day today, so I’m very h appy to see the sunshine. Yesterday I felt cold but today I feel much better.
I think the English class given by English teacher has much difference with those given by Chinese teacher. The Chinese teachers attach importance to the grammar but English teachers attach importance to speaking and new words. So I like to learn here.

On the way to the classroom, beautiful scenery went in my sight. Both sides of the road stood plenty of trees, green and tall. When raising my head, I got a view of many lovely birds flying freely in the blue sky. Then I was lost in thought.
How much I wished I were a bird, which could go wherever it wanted and do whatever it liked. Impossible as it was, I still felt very happy, for I was a man who had the ability to imagine and enjoyed the happiness it brought!
As I walked on slowly, a bright simile bloomed on my face.

Chance
Every now and then, people complain they just miss the chance again and again. They may feel depressed for a long time, thinking luck will never bless them. However, as a matter of fact, chances just exist around us. It’s no use waiting for the next chance or regretting having missed a chance. It is not whether there still are chances for you but your bei ng ready for the chances which are on the way that really matters. Therefore, we should make full use of time. Only in this way can we keep calm when facing difficulties. And then we can catch the chance and enjoy the happiness it brings.

Today is Friday. It’s fine today. Good weather!
Matt’s class was in t he morning. It was a little more interesting. We talked about American football. First Matt showed us a magazine about his high school’s football team and other information on football matches. Then he let us watch a movie called “Friday Night Lights”. Tha t was the name because high schools have football matches only on Friday nights. He also told us other things about football. I don’t like American football because it is too violent. However, I like the movie.

July 24th Sunday
At weekends we have no lessons, but we have many interesting activities.
On Saturday afternoon, we watched the movie Forrest Gump in the classroom. It’s a good movie. It’s very moving, sad and happy. You can learn a lot from the movie. Forrest is stupid but he’s also very clever.
On Sunday we had singing contest. I am one of the contesants. My song’s name is One Love. It’s a song of Blue, a British music group. I went into the “Final
Seve n”. But other contestants were really excellent. I didn’t get any prizes. Another contestant from our class called Candy was the third-place winner. Congratulations to her! Though I didn’t get prizes, I was very happy. I tried my best.
P.S: All the contestants were girls except me!

Two years ago, my father asked me if I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. I said No at once because I didn’t like this job at all. But now, I change my mind. A month ago I went to see the doctor. I found that many doctors weren’t careful enough to look over the patients. They liked to give the patients the most expensive medicine. I was very angry. So I make up my mind to be a doctor in the future. Doing this is very rewarding because it can help save peop le’s lives and make people healthy. My grandma died of cancer. I want to heal people who have cancer. Now we have no ideas and no good medicine to heal those people. Cancer makes many people lose their lives, makes their relatives cry hard an d spends much money. So I will work hard from now on. I wish I could work out this difficult problem with other friends.

One day, a lovely rabbit went to the beautiful forest. Suddenly a wolf jumped out of the forest and told the rabbit: “Hello, my d ear, my love. I love you forever. My Hometown
My hometown is very big. I am going to show you around my hometown.
First, here is my house. I live in a small house, we have a garden. My mother grows vegetables and flowers in the garden.
Outside the garden the garden is a bus stop. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the nearest town. There are lots of buildings there. There is a shopping mall, a youth center and a cinema. There is also a park near the center of the town. My favorite place is the youth center. I often go there with my friends after school. There are lots of things to do there and I am always busy.
I like going into town on my bicycle. The town is near the sea. I sometimes go swimming in summer when it’s warm and sunny. There is not much pollution in the town because cars cannot go into the center of the town.
I have lots o f friends here: I think it’s a wonderful place to live in. I hope you can come and visit it soon.

In the morning, we see a new friend. Although I don’t know his name, I meet him. And I think this boy looks like Edis on. He is handsome. Later we make up some short plays and my group also show our play. Our story talks about a magician helping some fishes. And we got No.1.
In the afternoon, we play a game. It is so much fun! Although the class is still boring, I think, in our life, we still can find some happiness!

Our classroom is big and bright.
Opposite the door are clean windows. In the front of the classroom is a platform. Teachers’ desk is just on it. A blackboard is on the front wall. There are 30 desks and 50 chairs in our classroom. On the wall next to the blackboard is a map. It is a map o f Germany. Our classroom is very clean.
Everyone in my class loves our classroom. It’s our common home.

I went back home this weekend. I have stay at home for almost a month since the summer break began, I never thought stay at home was great when I was at home, but when I came back to home is the best place for me in the world.
The strong wind was gone, I feel so sad. The weather become hotter and hotter. I can’t bear the sun anymore. As far as I know the swimming pool in this university hasn’t done yet, that is so awful.
It is the hottest summer in the history of Hangzhou, the temperature stay above 30 degree centigrade every day. The summer becomes hotter and hotter every year, that would be very bad to the earth.

There was an English songs singing competition last weekend. Our class won the fist prize. We were all very happy. Though I didn’t take part in it. I felt nervous for the two contestants. But their behavior was so good that I thought it was no nec essary to worry about them. The winner, Chen Liang, lives in the room that is opposite to mine. Before the competition, I could always hear her sing loudly at night. She practiced so hard that I think she deserves to win.
Today I knew a new English teache r who is from Wuxi, Jiangsu. He asked us to play a game. The rule was
simple. We should only say a word which begins with
the last letter of the word that the student before you said. The student who can’t say the word in 30 seconds should perform for everyone. The game was easy, but some of us were still asked to perform. Some of us gave others a hint. Then he asked us to stop and told us we must obey the rule, or the game couldn’t help us. He
also told us something else about it. I think what he said was quite profound. I felt happy to know him.
July 27, 2005 Wednesday
Today our Chinese teacher taught us a song. We learnt fast but sang it too loudly. He also asked us to retell a story. Something like those is very interesting.
2.5 hours passed quickly. Jessica gave us some pictures and asked us to write a story in 30 minutes, from one of the pictures. We discussed and finished it very well I think life here is becoming more and more interesting. At school we just learn grammar and do exercises in English classes, that’s really very boring. There will be a speaking competition on Saturday. I’m not willing to take part in it because I’m a little afraid of speaking before so many people. I have made a speech in junior middle school, I stood before 2000 students and felt very upset and nervous. Though I finished the speech, I don’t think my behavior was good. Maybe you think I need more practice, but I think I’m not good at speaking. I do better in writing than in speaking.
I know I should be confident with myself, but I think I won’t speak very well in front of so many people. Even
though I have learnt the article by heats when I stand on the stage. I may forget all of it that’s really a terrible thing.

Today we saw a movie at noon and in the afternoon. It’s name suggested that it was a horrific one, b ut it wasn’t horrific at all. We finished watching at 5:30pm, and walked to our dormitories when we got there, it was 6:00. we had our dinner as quickly as we could and then rushed to the classroom. I’ve never been in such a hurry! In the afternoon we acted. We watched to a short play
for three times and the teacher asked us to act. It was a little difficult, because we couldn’t remember all the sentences by watching the play for three times. We tried to remember something. Though the play had been changed a little, it was still very good we all acted very well. The teacher also gave some group prizes. Though my group hadn’t hot once, I didn’t mind.
There is one thing that made me very hap py. One of my classmates said “happy birthday ” to me by sending a message. Though it was late, I still felt happy.

Matt gave us a class this afternoon, at the first part
of the class, we saw a film. It was mainly about American football. After the film, we began t get to know the American football. It is similar to soccer, but it was much rougher. Players might get more
easily. In another word, it was a game full of danger, they played just like fighting. One of the players just broke his leg during the match, and he would never play American football, because of his leg. What a pity! Matt told us that when he was in high school, he also take part in American football. He had broken his fingers for three times and his leg for once. Then I was puzzled, it was a very dangerous game, why was is popular?

How time flies! A week has passed before I noticed it. Thinking back at the things that happened during last week, I found the life here full of happiness and interests.
I can still remember the first day of the summer camp. I came to my bedchamber by myself. When I opened the door, I saw a girl with short hair sitting in a chair with a book in her hand. She must be a quiet girl who liked reading, I thought to myself at the time. As soon as we said hello to each other, another girl came in with a big noise. Her name was Rose. She was so outgoing and humor that both Cherry and I wouldn’t help laughing immediately. Then we studied and had meals together, and became good friends.
I can’t forget the day we spent together, I will remember these pressure seconds forever no matter how far we will be part in the future.
24th July Sunday Sunny
Today is an exciting day. In the morning we had the singing contest. Everyone did well in it. Somebody sans lyrics and somebody didn’t. When the result came out, only Audrey and Ellison could be in the second run. Vanessa was very sad. But finally she was in the second run. It was really great news for her.
We stayed in our rooms for the whole afternoon. We played cards, slept, read, practiced some English songs for the contest and did out homework. It was a little boring.
In the evening, we had the final singing contest. It was really great. At last, Vanessa got the second prize. Congratulations to her! All of us were proud of her. Edle gave her a bunch of flowers! Then we returned to our rooms.
It was really a good day today!
July 24th, 2005 Sunday Sunny
Today was a day for music, because we had the preliminary contest in the morning and we would have the final contest in the evening.
After the preliminary contest, we thought that only one program could go on next at f irst. It mad Vanessa sad. This result gave us a big surprise. At last, we knew that she got the first place of girl’s vocal music. Why she couldn’t pass at first was because she didn’t use the match music. Just like a joke! However, we all thought that she sang well all the time no matter whether she could pass or not.
In the evening, Vanessa, Ellison and I took part in the music contest. Vanessa sang almost perfectly and she go the second prize and last. I don’t think Ellison and I sang well. Ellison forgot the words of the song and my voice was a little dumb. Maybe Ellison felt a little nervous and I didn’t feel very natural on the stage. We haven’t got any prize. It was a little pitiful. Besides, my mother and uncle came to see me last night, so they cou ld hear the song I sang by chance. I thought I should take part in activities more and be on the stage more.
After the music concert, my mother, my uncle and I talked a lot in my room. I felt happy to see them and talk with them.
