Can plants eat people? Probably not, but there are many plants that eat meat. Some of them are big. And they c an eat small animals. One famous meat-eating plant is the Venus flytrap.

The Venus flytrap is a very strange plant. It grows in dry parts of the United States. Its leaves are like the pages of a book. They can open and close very quickly. Inside the leaves, there are three small hairs. If a fly touches one of the hair, the leaf presses the fly until it is dead. Then, the plant covers the fly. Slowly, the plant eats th e fly.

Why do plants do it? Most plants get what they need from the sun, the air, and the ground. In some places, the ground is very poor. It doesn’t have all these important things, especially nitrogen(氮). Many people go to different countries and live in different places in lifetime . In different countries , they may

make a joke about those manners . So when we go to a strange country , we should pay attention to something

on the edge of your plate , never on the table or floor .

Do not reach across the table or in front of another person . Ask someone to pass whatever you want .

Do not sneeze , cough or blow your nose anywhere except into a handkrechief(手帕)or Kleenex(纸巾). Then

Do you want to live a happier, less stressful life? Try laughing for no reason at all. That’s how thousands of peo ple start their day at Laughter Clubs around the world----- and many doctors now think that having a good laugh might be one of the best ways to stay healthy.

The first Laughter Club was started in Mumbai, India, in 1995 by Dadan Kataria. “Young children laugh about 3 00 times a d ay. Adults laugh between 7 and 15 times a day,” says Dr Kataria. “Evryone’s naturally good at laug hing------it’s the universal language. We want people to feel happy with their lives.” There are now more than 50 0 Laughter Clubs in India and over 1,300 worldwide.

Many doctors are also interested in the effect(效果) of laughter on our health. According to a 5-year study at the UCLA School Medicine in California, with laughing there is less stress in the body. Laugher improves our health against illness by about 40%.

So, what happens at a Larghter Club? I went along to my nearest club in South Londong to find out. I was quit e nervous at the beginning of the class, to be honest ------ I wasn’t interested in laughing with a group of strang ers, and I was worried abo ut looking stupid. Our laughter teacher told us to clap our hands and say “ho ho ho, ha ha ha,” while looking at each other. However, our bodies can’t tell the difference between fake laughter and re al laughter, so they still produce the same healthy effects.

Surprisingly, it works! After ten minutes everybody in the room was laughing for real------ and some people just couldn’t stop! At the end of the class I was surprised by how relaxed and comfortable I felt. So if you’re under stress, then start laughing. You might be very pleased with the results!
