Every morning a woman made pancakes for her family. She would also put one on the windowsill (窗台), for whoever needed to eat it.

Every day an old man came and took the pancake on the windowsill. Instead of expressing thankfulness, he always left the strange words:“The evil (罪恶) you do stays with you. The good you do comes back to you!”

This went on day after day. The woman got angry. One day, with great anger, she added poison ( 毒药) to the pancake she prepared for the old man! As she was about to put it on the windowsill, she felt fear rising inside her. Finally, she threw the poisonous pancake into the fire, and prepared another one. As usual, the old man took the pancake and said the same words.

That evening, the woman's son came home from a faraway place. He said, “Mom, it's a miracle ( 奇迹) I'm here. While I was about a mile away, I was almost starving to death (饿死). But just then an old man passed by and he offered me a pancake.”

After the son described what the old man looked like, the smile on the woman's face disappeared. She knew it was the man who came every day. If she hadn't burnt the poisonous pancake, her own son would have eaten it!

Then she understood the words: “The evil you do stays with you. The good you do comes back to you!”

What would you do if you found something valuable on the ground? Months ago, a kid picked up a key to a Cadillac car, and he found the owner of the key in his own way. The key owner, whose net name is Daobadong, shared the touching story on Weibo.

After learning the heart-warming story, lots of netizens were moved and shared their thoughts —“What a great family! The kid is taught well by his parents.”;“I can imagine how excited the kid was when the key worked!”

“I feel warm. I'll keep a kind heart. Keep doing good and it will pay off,” Daobadong also shared online. Certainly he will take better care of his key in the future.

意为“搜寻;搜查”,既可作动词用,也可作名词用。

▲作动词,常用于以下结构中:

①search sb. 表示“搜某人的身”。

②search some place / sth. 表示“搜查某处或某物”。

③search for sb. / sth. 表示“搜寻/搜查某人或某物”。

④search sb. / some place for ... 表示“搜查某人或某处以寻找……”。

▲作名词,常用于固定短语in search of (搜寻;寻找;寻求)中。
