1. Background Information

1)英国女王:

伊丽莎白二世(英语:Elizabeth II,1926年4月21日-)为现任英国君主,是英国及英联邦16个成员国的国家元首,登基于1952年2月6日(加冕于1953年6月2日),伊丽莎白二世是目前在世的在位时间第2长的国家元首(仅次于1946年即位的泰国国王普密蓬·阿杜德),同时也是英国在位时间第二长的君主,仅次于维多利亚女王(1837年-1901年在位63年又七个月)。以她为国家元首的国家中大约生活着1.25亿人。她也是英联邦元首。

2)英国首相

戴维·卡梅伦(David William Donald Cameron,1966年10月9日-)出生于英国的一个贵族家庭,具有纯正的英国王室血统,是英国自1812年以来最年轻的首相.。

3)英国国旗:

英国国旗:综合了原英格兰(白地红色正十字旗)、苏格兰(蓝地白色交叉十字旗)和爱尔兰(白地红色交叉十字旗)的旗帜标志。现国旗

6) London Eye

伦敦眼(英文名:The London Eye),全称英国航空伦敦眼(The British Airways London Eye)又称千禧之轮,坐落在伦敦泰晤士河畔,是世界第四大摩天轮,是伦敦的地标之一,也是伦敦最吸引游人的观光点之一。伦敦眼于1999年年底开幕,总高度135米(443英尺)。伦敦眼共有32个乘坐舱,全部设有空调并不能打开窗。每个乘坐舱可载客约15名,回转速度约为每秒0.26米,即一圈需时30分钟。

7) River Thames

泰晤士河(Thames River)是英国著名的“母亲”河。发源于英格兰西南部的科茨沃尔德希尔斯,全长402公里,横贯英国首都伦敦与沿河的10多座城市,流域面积13000平方公里,在伦敦下游河面变宽,形成一个宽度为29公里的河口,注入北海。在伦敦上游,泰晤士河沿岸有许多名胜之地,诸如伊顿、牛津、亨利和温莎等。泰晤士河的入海口充满了英国的繁忙商船,然而其上游的河道则以其静态之美而著称于世。在英国历史上泰晤士河流域占有举足轻重的地位。

8) Tower Bridge

伦敦塔桥是从英国伦敦泰晤士河口算起的第一座桥(泰晤士河上共建桥15座),也是伦敦的象征,有“伦敦正门”之称。该桥始建于1886年,1894年6月30日对公众开放,将伦敦南北区连接成整体。

9) Westminster Bridge

威斯敏斯特跨河大桥大桥,又名西敏寺大桥,是连接伦敦泰晤士河、大本钟旁的大桥便是威斯敏斯特跨河大桥。

两岸的28座大桥之一,因著名的威斯敏斯特大教堂而得名。大桥北岸的名胜古迹不断:伦敦塔、圣保罗大教堂、国会大厦、大本钟等等。

⑤.any vs. some

some和any 既可以修饰可数名词又可以修饰不可数名词,some常用在肯定句中,而any则常用在否定和疑问句中。因此some 和any 的用法主要是考虑用在肯定句、疑问句还是否定句中,与名词的可数与否无关。

A.s ome意为“一些”,可作形容词和代词。它

常修饰可数名词复数。如:some books一些

书,some boys一些男孩,也可修饰不可数

名词,如:some water一些水,some tea一

些茶叶,some常用在肯定句中;

B.any意为“任何一些”,它也可修饰可数名词

复数或不可数名词,常用于疑问句和否定句e.g.

--I have some tea here. 我这儿有些茶叶。

--I can’t see any tea. 我没看见茶叶。

--Do you have any friends at school? 你在学校有些朋友吗?

--I have some English books, they are my best friends. 我有英语书,它们是我最好的朋友。

【注】

A.但在表示建议,反问,请求的疑问句中,或

期望得到肯定回答时,多用some而不用any。e.g.

Would you like some coffee? 你要不要来点咖啡?

What about some fruit juice? 来点水果汁如何?

B.当any表示“任何”的意义,起强调作用时,

它可以用在肯定句中;

e.g.

Any student can answer this question.任何学生都可以回答这个问题
