一、教材分析

“语言运用”部分主要是让学生运用本课文所学的语言知识与课文内容进行听说读写的综合能力训练。此部分有三项内容:读的文章是有关化肥危害和有机耕种知识的,设计了两个练习,要求学生紧密联系阅读材料,填写信息和回答相关问题,然后按照提示的步骤写一篇关于阅读材料的摘要。提醒学生尽量不要从文章中去摘抄,要运用自己的语言。读、说和写部分要求学生模仿reading部分写一篇与之相似的说明文,以“PLASTIC OR CLOTH BAGS?”为题模仿这篇文章的篇章结构和句子结构去写一篇说明文,通过这个练习可以帮助学生学会如何写该类的说明文。这个部分设计了discussion部分,先让学生讨论其结构,以及使用塑料袋导致的问题以及使用布袋的优点。最后,要求学生完成这个写作,并可以通过投影仪在课堂上展示一小段学生的作品。

二、学情分析

1.新的教材、新的教学方法,需要新的评价体系。那种陈旧的以终结性考试区分好、中、差学生的方法,

不能充分反映学生平时的学习效果,不能有效检查他们的学习方法是否正确;同时,给教师平时的工作成效打了折扣。

2.本堂课是针对会昌中学高一(28)和高一(29)班的学生所设计的,学生的英语基础相对较差,可能遇到的问题是在阅读课文中,不能在较短的时间内把握文章的脉络,概括出文章大意;不能在学习中借助音乐作品、图片等非语言信息进行语言表达。另外,这篇课文中出现了较多的新词汇,有一部分词汇对于学生而言有难度。所以,提前让学生进行预习是十分有必要的。

3.学生在这节课的学习过程中要用到预习策略、搜集分析信息策略及高效复习策略等。

三、教学目标

本堂课的要求是:学生能理解阅读文章中的重点内容。在上半个世纪中,农民更多的是使用化肥进行农业耕种,他们认为这样可以增产和抵制庄稼病虫害。但是,科学家们发现长期使用化肥会对土地,甚至人类的健康带来破坏性的影响。随后,一些农民开始采用各种方法进行土地的有机耕种,并认识到有机耕种的益处。最后要求学生模仿reading部分写一篇与之

相似的说明文,以“PLASTIC OR CLOTH BAGS?”为题模仿这篇文章的篇章结构和句子结构去写一篇说明文,通过这个练习可以帮助学生学会如何写该类的说明文。

五、教学步骤(Teaching procedures)

Step 1 Warming-up

To know the difference between chemical

fertilizers and organic fertilizers,know something about organic farming, and then lead in the text.

[设计说明] 课堂开始时,以问题的形式导入课堂,问学生一个问题“Have you ever been to farm land?”由于大部分都是来自农村的孩子,有利于激起学生的兴趣,进而更快的进入课堂。接着就问学生“What can we harvest on the farm land?”让学生们更多的参与到课堂中,紧接着就给学生展示一些农场里收获的食物,让学生说出它们的英文名称,接着引入因为有机化肥和自然肥料的使用,食物才长的那么好,并告诉他们这些化肥的区别,进而引入一个概念“有机农业”,并观看一个介绍有机农业的视频来导入reading部分。

必修 4 Unit 1 A STUDENT OF AFRICAN WILDLIFE It is 5:45 am and the sun is just rising over Gombe National Park in East Africa. Following Jane's way of studying chimps, our group are all going to visit them in the forest. Jane has studied these families of chimps for many years and helped people understand how much they behave like humans. Watching a family of chimps wake up is our first activity of the day. This means going back to the place where we left the family sleeping in a tree the night before. Everybody sits and waits in the shade of the trees while the family begins to wake up and move off. Then we follow as they wander into the forest. Most of the time, chimps either feed or clean each other as a way of showing love in their family. Jane warns us that our group is going to be very tired and dirty by the afternoon and she is right. However, the evening makes it all worthwhile. We watch the mother chimp and her babies play in the tree. Then we see them go to sleep together in their nest for the night. We realize that the bond between members of a chimp family is as strong as in a human family. Nobody before Jane fully understood chimp behaviour. She spent years observing and recording their daily activities. Since her childhood she had wanted to work with animals in their own environment. However, this was not easy. When she first arrived in Gombe in 1960, it was unusual for a woman to live in the forest. Only after her mother came to help her for the first few months was she allowed to begin her project. Her work changed the way people think about chimps. For example, one important thing she discovered was that chimps hunt and eat meat. Until then everyone had thought chimps ate only fruit and nuts. She actually observed chimps as a group hunting a monkey and then eating it. She also discovered how chimps communicate with each other, and her study of their body language helped her work out their social system. For forty years Jane Goodall has been outspoken about making the rest of the world understand and respect the life of these animals. She has argued that wild animals should be left in the wild and not used for entertainment or advertisements. She has helped to set up special places where they can live safely. She is leading a busy life but she says: "Once I stop, it all comes crowding in and I remember the chimps in laboratories. It's terrible. It affects me when I watch the wild chimps. I say to myself, 'Aren't they lucky?" And then I think about small chimps in cages though they have done nothing wrong. Once you have seen that you can never forget ..."
