Teaching Plan for Unit 3 (9A)

Period Five------- Grammar (A)

Teacher: Yao Zhongyou.

Teaching aims and demands.

1 Learn to identify the function of infinitive in a sentence

2 Learn to use “wh- ”word + “to ”-infintive

.Difficulties;

the usage of “wh”-word+infinitive.

Teaching method: task-based

Aids: media projector

Teaching prodecures

Task 1 : Revision.(2’)

Ask the students to rivise the parts of sentences.Finish off the exercises on the screen.(write the names of the different parts of the blackboard)

Task 2 Presentation.(4’)

Look at the pictures.Identify the parts of a sentence,paying attention to “to- infinitives “

Ask the students to go through the sentences.Make sure they know which sentence element it is.

Task3 Practice.(10’)’

(A)Read the sentences on the screen ,tell the different parts of sentence.

Ask the students to tell the answers one by one.correct them .

(B)Ask the students to go through the information onb Page 49 .Then finish off “More

problems and suggestions”(A1,A2)on Page 50.

Check the answers

Explain when necessary.

Task 4 Presentation-(8’)-

Ask the students to to through the pictures and sentences on the screen .Help them to describe each picture..

Explain the stuture “wh-word”+”to ”infinitive

Task 5:Discusssion (4’)-

Look at the screen and talk about the pictures..

Discuss what problems teenagers have and what advice Me Sigmund will give.

Task 6:Practice (10’)

Millie is interviewing Mr Sigmund Friend.Let’s read what they’re talking about.

Fill in the blank with the right words.individually.

Check the answers.Explain when necessary.

Practise the dialogue.

Task 7 Exercise(7’)’

Look at the screen .Finish off the exercises.

Task 8. Consolidation and home work.
