外交新词翻译的原则与策略 摘要：外交新词作为高文化负载词，体现着国家的发展与大政方针，翻译质量影响着对外宣传的效果，展现了现代汉语的生机活力。外交新词政治性强、具有中国特色，常常出现在各类外宣材料，结合外宣翻译三贴近原则，翻译时应遵循政治等效、译名统一、专业表达、约定俗成四大原则。 关键词：外交新词外宣翻译原则新词翻译原则 1.外交新词翻译现状及问题 改革开放来，中国经济迅速发展，各项事业稳步提升，国际地位不断提高，外交工作日趋活跃，外交新词不断涌现，如：新型大国关系、八荣八耻、中国梦等等，各种外宣材料翻译成为外交工作的重要组成部分，外交新词则是重中之重，翻译质量决定着对外宣传的效果，影响国家形象，外交新词翻译中也存在以下问题： 翻译用词不够准确，政治敏感性不强。外交新词最主要的特点之一就是政治性强，因此选词要恰当、准确，如2009年11月11日新闻发布会上，译员将表达达赖从事民族分裂活动的贬义词“窜访”译成了中性词“visit”，缺失了词语本身的政治内涵，没有向西方传达出中国政府和人民暗含其中的感情色彩。 译名不够统一，缺乏规范化意识。一些重要、常见的外交新词翻译版本众多，没有统一性，就如“中国梦”一词的翻译，出现了“the Chinese dream、the China dream、the dream of China”等诸多版本，有时同一文章译名都未达到统一，引起外国媒体的猜测与误读。 译文欠缺专业性，术语国际标准化意识不强。对于一些外交新词的翻译过于通俗，按照字面翻译，用词冗长，语体不正式，不符合国际惯例和外交术语的文体特征。

怎样把中国的这些特色词汇翻译成英文让外国人懂 中文摘要 中国特色词汇是中国英语研究中相当重要的一部分。中国特色词汇是表达中国文化中的特有事物，其中蕴藏着中国千百年文化的内涵，当中国的文化传出中国走向世界的时候，这些中国特色词汇又是怎样不失原味的被翻译成外语从而被外国人所接受的呢？本文将以中国特 色词汇翻译成英文为例，介绍了一些中国特色词汇的被译成英语的方法，它们分别是音译、直译、意译等，通过这些方法可使大家基本了解中国特色词汇在英语交际是怎样被转换并被使用的，逐渐融合进传统英语中的，以满足人们日常生活中用英语交流的需要。除此之外，还将浅谈中国特色词汇所对应的特别的英文词汇出现的原因之一：中西文化差异造成的词汇空缺。并对文化差异进行细分详细阐述。还将提出一些关于中国特色词汇在英语国家传播的前景的看法。 关键词：中国特色词汇；文化差异；翻译 Chinese Culture-loaded Words and Translation Abstract Chinese culture-loaded words are becoming increasingly important in the study of China English. Chinese culture-loaded words refer to the uniqueness of Chinese items, and of course, contain the connotation of Chinese culture. With the wide spread of Chinese culture to the world, how can they be understood and accepted by foreigners accurately in translation? The paper, by giving a good number of examples, introduces some methods of translating Chinese culture-loaded words, including transliteration, literal translation, free translation and so on. These methods help to understand how Chinese culture-loaded words are transformed into and used in English, and how they gradually integrate into the traditional English and satisfy the demand of communication in English. In addition, the paper is to expose in detail lexical gap caused by cultural differences between the East and the West. Furthermore, it also offers some views on the prospect of the spread of Chinese culture-loaded in English-speaking countries. Key words: Chinese culture-loaded words; culture differences; translation
浅谈中国特色词语的特点及其翻译技巧 摘要：英语在中国本土文化产生了一种特殊的、具有中国特色的英语变体－中国英语。具有中国特色的词汇和表达方式，在西方文化中找不到对等的语境，而成为英汉翻译的一大难题。这种语言的特性又使汉语中的某些词语在英语中只能找到部分的对应的词语，甚至根本就没有对应，于是，出现词语空缺和翻译的局限性。分析中国特色词语的特点和前景；在翻译技巧的基础上提出一些针对中国特有表达方式的翻译方法。除此之外，本文还将提出一些关于中国特色词汇在英语国家传播的前景的看法。 关键词：中国特色词语的特点；翻译技巧 一、引言 作为人类的重要交际工具，语言总是处于特定的语境中，语言的频繁使用，必然引起语言的变异，中国英语也因此应运而生。不同文化环境的人对大自然和社会的认识不一，角度也不相同，作为文化载体的语言，必定有着丰富的文化蕴含，由于文化差异，语言之间的不可翻译性成为翻译界一个永久的问题，具有中特色词汇和表达出于在西方文化中找不到对等而成为英汉翻译中的一大难题。 二、中国特色英语 中国特色英语，是用英文表达中国文化中的特有事物，其中蕴藏着中国千百年文化的内涵。当中国的文化传出中国走向世界的时候，这些中国特色词汇又是怎样不失原味的被翻译成外语从而被外国人所接受的呢？本文将以中国特色词汇翻译成英文为例，介绍了多个时期中国特色词语的特点。这些在旧中国和新中国,讲或写英语时都有我国所特有的东西要表达。如“科举”、“五四运动”、“白话文”、“人民公社”、“四个现代化”这些不属于英语国家所惯用的词语,而是中国传统文化所特有的。1991年汪榕培先生将中国英语定义为“它是中国人在中国本土上使用的、以标准英语为核心、具有中国特点的英语。这个提法肯定了中国特色英语现象,也指出了这些是正确的英文表达法。 总体来说，中国特色英语可分为以下三大类： （一）具有文化色彩的表达方式 中国是具有悠久历史的东方文明古国，其传统的文化思想自然反应到语言上。传统的固然在人们的脑中是根深蒂固的，就像这个“龙”字，在华夏文化中，“龙”字是传说中的神异动物之一，与凤凰、麒麟、龟合称“四灵”。除这个字义外，它还被视为中华民族的象征，形成一种中华文化图腾，现在称炎黄子孙为“龙的传人”，可见其影响之大。后世的很多皇帝就“龙”这个事物作为权威的象征，如坐龙椅，褂龙袍，睡龙床等等。然而在西方国家，“龙”dragon是凶险的，龙是凶险邪恶的象征，是吐火伤人的怪物。”这是传统积淀造成的人们对同一事物的不同理解。如“中秋节”Mid-Autumn Day;“泼水节”Water-Splashing Day等，这些都是中国传统佳节，是中国优良文化的积淀，悠久历史传承至今的瑰宝，这些传统文化佳节现在已经不仅仅是被中国人所专有，它们也在一些喜欢中国文化的外国人中流行起来。再有一些如“武术” wushu ,“功夫” kung fu，“扭秧歌”yang ko,这些
