Westlife’s Romantic Rose
Everyone has their own ideas of what love means. Irish boy-band Westlife think love is like a beautiful rose.

“Boy bands could get away with having one good singer and four good-looking guys,”said band member Kian Egan.“But it’s not just about that. It’s a lot more about the music, the sound. We want to be seen as serious musicians.”
When Westlife started out, every member had to be able to sing and offer something different to the band’s overall sound. They sang about wanting, loving, fighting and missing---the whole life cycle of human relationships. “Their singing and music is arranged in a way that is beautiful beyond words,” said David Dunlap, a British fan of the band. In march 2004, Bryan McFadden left the band to pursue his own career.
Despite critics predicting the end of the road, the group’s popularity hasn’t been affected.
“We are still like a big family,” the boys told Teens when they came to China in March 2006 to promote their last album Face to Face.“A lot of bands fall apart because of individual differences. But we are honest with each other. Honesty works best.”

No doubt, everyone wishes to be successful in life. But not eyeryone can win success. The keys to success chiefly include the following fundamental principles: honesty, diligence,devotion and perseverance.
The first key to success is honesty.“Honesty is the best policy”. There are so many temptations in society that if we are a little careless, we may go astray. However, if we take an honesty attitude towards our work and study, we shall not fail in life.
The second key to success is diligence, which simply means not wasting time. If we do things diligently, we can overcome ignorance and difficulties and enlighten our minds. Diligence can make a fool wise, and a poor man rich. If we don’t idle our time away, we will surely be successful in future.
The third key to success is devotion, which means the concentration of mind and effort in doing something. It is a great force. Whatever job
we are doing, we must love it and do it wholeheartedly. Only when we are devoted to our job can we do it well. In this way, nothing is too difficult to accomplish.
The final key to success is perseverance, or a strong will. Constancy and perseverance can make success a certainty. If we study or work day after day, there is nothing that cannot be achieved. However, without a strong will, we are likely to give up when we encounter diffculties. In short, a strong will can encourage us to perform wonderful deeds.
To sum up, honesty, diligence, devotion and perseverance are the key factors to success. In my opinion, if we try to be ambitious, aggressive and persistent in our life, we are bound to achieve success in one way or another.

As the conversation starts rolling, be careful not to make comments that might offend someone.

1. The Functions of Music in Daily Life Music is everywhere. We can hear it in restaurants, airports, railway stations, supermarkets, department stores, banks, hospitals, and many other public places. Music of all kinds is now available, and tapes and CDs are not very expensive. Music plays an important role in our everyday lives. Music can give us a better feeling about ourselves and about everything around us. It can change our attitudes toward many things. When we feel sad, music can cheer us up. When we are tired and bored, music can make us relaxed. When we are working or studying, music can provide us with a pleasant environment so that we can work or study more efficiently. Four Words to Make Life Worthwhile Over the years as I’ve sought out ideas, principles and strategies to life’s challenges, I’ve come across four simple words that can make living worthwhile. First, life is worthwhile if you learn. What you don’t know will hurt you. You have to have learning to exist, let alone succeed. Life is worthwhile if you learn from your own experiences —negative or positive. We learn to do it right by first sometimes doing it wrong. We call that a positive negative. We also learn from other people’s experience, both positive and negative. Second, life is worthwhile if you try. You can’t just learn; now you have to try so mething to see if you can do it. Try to make a difference, try to make some progress, try to learn a new skill, try to learn a new sport. It doesn’t mean you can do everything, but there are a lot of things you can do, if you just try. Try your best and go all out. Third, life is worthwhile if you stay. You have to stay from spring until harvest. Sometimes calamity comes and then it is worth wrapping it up. But just don’t end in the middle. Maybe on the next project you pass, but on this one, if you signed up, see it through. And lastly, life is worthwhile if you care. If you care at all you will get some results, if you care enough you can get incredible results. Care enough to make a difference. Care enough to turn somebody around.
