中西方文化背景对英语阅读理解的影响
摘要：想要掌握一门语言，不仅仅要学会使用这门语言的字词、语法使用原则以及语句使用情景，还要学会对这门语言进行不同情
境下的理解与运用。身为一名英语学习爱好者，我们在学习英语这
门语言时，不仅要学习西方文化，还要不断地提高自身的英语阅读
理解能力，这篇文章就是通过分析中西方文化的不同，提高我们对
于英语的学习兴趣，进而能够更加深刻地理解英语阅读，加深自己
对英语阅读的理解。

随着我国经济的发展，英语已经逐渐成为我国重要的学习领域
之一，只有熟练地掌握英语相关知识，才有可能在国家立足，在世
界立足。但是就目前的情况来看，我国对于英语的学习教育一直局
限在表层领域中，大多数人对于英语的学习与理解仍存在很多不足，如何提高英语学习者的阅读能力已经成为很多英语研究爱好者的重
要课题。本文就根据这一问题，结合实际现状，深入探讨英语阅读
理解的提高过程。
一、阅读理解和文化背景知识的相互关系
经过多年对于英语的学习，本人发现一般在英语阅读理解方面
表现出高超的水平的学习者都具有相当厚远的西方文化知识。换一
句话说就是如果一个人的相关文化背景比较深厚，那幺这个人对于
该门语言的理解能力就比较强，就算不能完全的理解出来，产生的
偏差也是比较小的。与之相反，如果一个人没有一定的文化背景知识，那幺他的阅读理解水平就会受到限制。因此在学习者的英语阅
读理解方面，不仅要学会阅读英语相关材料，掌握英语所使用的语句、字词和语法，还要理解这其中的深刻内涵或者是变相内涵，只
有充分把握这些语句段落，了解英语文化知识，才能更好地做好阅
读理解。
二、中西方文化差异对英语阅读的影响
在学习英语的过程中，文化背景知识在不断地影响英语阅读质量，当然英语阅读也在影响文化背景，这是一个动态的过程。学习
者的文化背景知识掌握程度也就决定了自身英语阅读理解的水平。
在此我们举例说明：
美女话西施，美酒推灵芝。一一灵芝酒。

这句中文使用了对称、比喻、押韵等多种修辞方法向读者介绍
表达了灵芝酒的美妙与高档，中国读者在了解了中国深远的文化背
景后也能非常容易地了解这则语句的深意与内涵，也方便中国读者
记忆理解，但是如果将这个语句直接翻译成英文，将具有中国文化
内涵的词汇直接用拼音表示出来，外国人在看到这句话时就很难理
解到其中的内涵与意图，给他们带来阅读理解上的困难，所以这则
翻译就将中国西施与灵芝在原文词汇的基础上用英文解释了一下，
虽然最后译文的长度较长，而且比较繁琐，但是仍然是一个比较成
功的典范。
三、通过丰富文化背景知识来提高英语阅读理解水平
丰富的文化背景会让阅读者体会到越来越顺畅的英语阅读过程，因此英语文化背景知识对于英语阅读起到了积极的作用。因为文化
背景知识可以协助阅读者在阅读的过程中更加顺畅地理解写作者的
内心感受与想法，可以更有效地提炼出所需要的信息。这就说明我
们应该通过学习中西方文化差异，掌握西方文化背景知识，进一步
训练自己的英语阅读能力。经过调查研究，我们发现可以通过以下
三个过程提高我们的英语阅读能力：
1.通过接触西方刊物或影视作品，深入感受和学习西方文化
教师的地位乃是重中之重，教师在学生学习的过程中要起到引领者
的作用，让学生意识到英语阅读理解的重点，通过轻重点的分析让
学生更加热爱英语文化背景知识的学习。
2.提高对英语文化背景知识的学习意识
随着全球经济一体化的发展趋势，我国的跨国贸易越来越频繁，国际竞争的压力和跨国合作的困难让更多的高校意识到英语阅读理
解的重要性。经过这几十年的磨炼，英语自身在我国逐渐形成了鲜
明的语言风格和标准体系，英语阅读的目的不是简单地进行语言符
号的转换，而是提高英语学习者对英语本身的认知度，激发学习者
的学习热情，因此英语研究者要更加注重英语学习和教学策略，形
成了一套完整的英语学习策略与制度，更加重视英语文化底蕴对于
英语阅读理解的影响，避免在英语阅读过程中产生严重的失误。
3.在课堂上更加重视英语文化背景知识的积累
英语的学习不可以脱离英语自身的文化背景，一旦没有一定的
英语文化背景知识的积累，那幺英语阅读能力自然就会受到约束，
从而也会丧失自身对英语的学习兴趣，所以学习者在日常的英语学
习中必须要留意西方文化背景与我国自身文化背景的差异，在英语
课堂中不仅要学习教师所传授的普通英文知识，还要多注意学习英
文文化背景。英语教师在教学的过程中也应该增加一些英语文化背
景内容，让学生可以深刻领悟到英语文化背景与英语阅读之间的关系，可以更加深刻地感悟到英语文化背景的魅力。
四、结语
一般成功的英语学习者，都是具有丰富的英语文化背景知识的，他们可以通过自身对文化背景知识的掌握深刻地理解英语阅读。本
文就是通过对中西文化的差异分析来阐述对英语阅读理解的影响，
希望可以通过两者之间的关系提高自身的英语阅读能力。在不断积
累自身的英语文化背景知识的同时，提高自身的英语阅读能力，从
而进一步为国家经济、政治、军事等方面做出强有力的贡献。
