多项选择题答案 1. a 根据课文第一句‘Do you call it a hat?’ I said to my wife. 我对妻子说),可以判断作者不喜欢那顶帽子,所以a. didn’t like the hat his wife had chosen 是正确答案。 2. a 根据课文第9-10行‘You needn’t have said that, ’ my wife answered. ‘I needn’t remind you of that terrible tie you bought yesterday’, 可以判断只有a. his wife reminded him that he had bought a terrible tie 与课文的实际情况相符,是作者为对他妻子粗鲁讲话而后悔的原因,其他3个选择都与事实不符,也不合乎逻辑。 3. c a. mustn't (不应该); b. wont(不想要); c. needn't(不必); d. don't need(不需要)4个选择中只有c. needn't 与后面一句It isn't necessary(没必要)的含义相同,所以选c. 4. d a. still 和d. yet 都有“还,仍然”的含义,但yet只能用于否定和疑问句中,表示“还没……”,still常用于肯定句中。

Lesson 48 Did you want to tell me something? Why did the writer become very worried? Dentists always ask questions when it is impossible for you to answer. My dentist had just pulled out one of my teeth and had told me to rest for a while. I tried to say something, but my mouth was full of cotton wool. In answer to these questions I either nodded or made strange noises. Meanwhile, my tongue was busy searching out the hole where the tooth had been. I suddenly felt very worried, but could not say anything. When the dentist at last removed the cotton wool from my mouth, I was able to tell him that he had pulled out the wrong tooth. 一、New words and expressions 生词和短语 pull 1) v. I spent a whole day pulling weeds. pull out a nail 拔出钉子 pull out a stopper 拔出塞子 have the decayed tooth pulled out请(牙医)拔掉蛀牙 pull out the wrong tooth 拔错了牙 eg. 新概念英语第三册课文及详解第课

Lesson 1 A puma at large Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America. When reports came into London Zoo that a wild puma had been spotted forty-five miles south of London, they were not taken seriously. However, as the evidence began to accumulate, experts from the Zoo felt obliged to investigate, for the descriptions given by people who claimed to have seen the puma were extraordinarily similar. The hunt for the puma began in a small village where a woman picking blackberries saw 'a large cat' only five yards away from her. It immediately ran away when she saw it, and experts confirmed that a puma will not attack a human being unless it is cornered. The search proved difficult, for the puma was often observed at one place in the morning and at another place twenty miles away in the evening. Wherever it went, it left behind it a trail of dead deer and small animals like rabbits. Paw prints were seen in a number of places and puma fur was found clinging to bushes. Several people complained of 'cat-like noises' at night and a businessman on a fishing trip saw the puma up a tree. The experts were now fully convinced that the animal was a puma, but where had it come from? As no pumas had been reported missing from any zoo in the country, this one must have been in the possession of a private collector and somehow managed to escape. The hunt went on for several weeks, but the puma was not caught. It is disturbing to think that a dangerous wild animal is still at large in the quiet countryside. Language points Pay attention: The points below are not covered by the mp3. It is better for you to listen to the mp3 first and try to take notes by yourselves. 1,a puma at large at large 1:逃遁的,没有被控制的。

The expensive shops in a famous arcade near Piccadilly were just opening. At this time of the morning, the arcade was almost empty. Mr Taylor, the owner of a jewellery shop was admiring a new window display. Two of his assistants had been working busily since 8 o'clock and had only just finished. Diamond necklaces and rings had been beautifully arranged on a background of black velvet. After gazing at the display for several minutes, Mr Taylor went back into his shop. The silence was suddenly broken when a large car, with its headlights on and its horn blaring, roared down the arcade. It came to a stop outside the jeweler's. One man stayed at the wheel while two others with black stockings over their faces jumped out and smashed the window of the shop with iron bars. While this was going on, Mr Taylor was upstairs. He and his staff began throwing furniture out of the window. Chairs and tables went flying into the arcade. One of the thieves was struck by a heavy statue, but he was too busy helping himself to diamonds to notice any pain. The raid was all over in three minutes, for the men scrambled back into the car and it moved off at a fantastic speed. Just as it was leaving, Mr Taylor rushed out and ran after it throwing ashtrays and vases, but it was impossible to stop the thieves. They had got away with thousands of pounds worth of diamonds.

There is a car race near our town every year. You can see us in the crowd. We are standing on the left." My wife said to me..." Lesson69 There is a car race near our town every year. In 1995, there was a very big race. There were hundreds of people there. My wife and I were at the race. Our friends Julie and Jack were there, too. You can see us in the crowd. We are standing on the left. There were twenty cars in the race. There were English cars, French cars, German cars, Italian cars, American cars and Japanese cars. It was an exciting finish. The winner was Billy Stewart. He was in car number fifteen. Five other cars were just behind him. On the way home, my wife said to me, 'Don't drive so quickly! You're not Billy Stewart!'
