1.People today can perform the everyday tasks such as shopping, banking or eve n business transactions, without meeting others face-to-face. What effects wil l this phenomenon have on individuals and society as a whole?

The interactivity of the Internet and the mobile phone has enabled a multitude of people to purchase their desired items or pay their phone bills without step ping out of their offices or homes. And many others can even register for tests or sign contracts online. This sweeping trend of going about everyday business in the virtual world has triggered a marked decline in face-to-face contact be tween people. Thus, it is essential that we identify the implication of this tr end on both individuals and society as a whole.

The impact of this phenomenon on individuals is profound. First, Individual eff iciency in business transaction and banking will be greatly enhanced. And those who dread shopping are spared the chore of browsing around in shops. Secondly, the increasingly sedentary lifestyle will engender a higher incidence of ailme nt. More overweight people means more patients suffering from cardiovascular di seases such as vein hardening, diabetes and hypertension. Thirdly, the absence of face-to-face contact may induce distrust between business partners. An inher ent sense of disbelief is apt to ruin a telecommunicated negotiation when negot iators can only see videos of each other transmitted via the Internet.

This trend also has widespread repercussions on society as a whole. In the firs t place, the burgeoning e-commerce will, doubtless, boost corporate efficiency immeasurably. And higher efficiency means more earnings and less costs for busi nesses. In the second place, online fraud, be it banking or trading, retail or wholesale, is sure to abound in the cyberspace. We must search for practicable and effectual means of curbing it. In the third place, the proliferation of e-c ommerce may exacerbate man's overdependence on technology. And that can render our lives un-spontaneous and our tempo of life too fast and furious.

In sum, there is no denying that the virtual world is exerting influence on our lives in various ways. It is a key that we take advantage of the upside of thi s trend and in the meantime mitigate its downside as much as possible.

2.Many people work at home using modern technology today. Some people think on ly workers benefit from it, not the employers. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Progressions in telecommunications technology have enabled the practice of tele commuting. Which means worker can conduct their assigned tasks without have to commute back and forth to work regularly. This emerging working pattern has pro found implication on our work and life. Some assert that only workers, not the employers, can be beneficiaries of telecommuting. Personally, I think their vie w has both merit and demerit.

Granted, telecommuting can bring about numerous benefits to the employees. To b egin with, employees do not have to live with the constant fear that their boss may look over their shoulder, as their work is supervised from far away and in more laisse fair fashions. There is no need for them to get super well-groomed

and they can "slack off" a bit when the work-induced stress is too intense to bear. Furthermore, telecommuting can spare workers the everyday chore of travel ing back and forth to work. And this, in turn, helps them to cut down on costs of bus fare, fuel or extravagant work clothes.

Yet on the other hand, it would be erroneous if we fail to acknowledge that emp loyers can profit from telecommuting, too. In the first place, less constraint, less peer pressure at work, no office politics and more flexible schedules can boost employee morale and enhance productivity. Empirical evidence abounds in this respect that more occupational freedom can, more often than not, lead to s tronger vocational motivation and more innovative ideas. In the second place, t elecommuting is an economical option for the employer. A telecommuting work for ce can help business-owners substantially curtail the overhead costs, such as t he costs of rent and utilities. Thirdly, the fact that workers can telecommute via the worldwide communications network allows employer to recruit people from remote locations or even half way around the globe. This markedly augments the labor pool of businesses.

To conclude, I concede that telecommuting can bring about a variety of boons to employees. However, it would be unjustifiable if we overlooked the advantages telecommuting can spawn on the employers' side. On balance, I am convinced that we should strive to seek out the most effective approach to exploit this win-w in situation.

3.We can get knowledge from news. But some people think we should not trust th

e journalists. What do you think are the important qualities that a journalist should have?

In the information era, news plays a crucial role in our work, leisure as well as family life. It informs us about the current world affairs and affords us kn owledge, entertainment and conversation pieces. On the other hand, the credibil ity of news and journalists is a highly controversial issue. Hence, it is essen tial that we determine the most important qualities of a trustworthy journalist .

First and foremost, a trustworthy journalist must be an individual with honesty and integrity. In this day and age, there are a host of temptations to lure the reporter into fabricating stories, when confronted with such temptations, only professionals with high moral values can adhere to their code of ethics. Hence , the courage to always pursue and expose the truths about newsworthy events is really crucial to a journalist.

Secondly, determination and tenacity distinguish fine journalists from mediocre ones.In today's world, regarded as the conscience of society, a great many jou rnalists find it increasingly difficult for them to come up with factual news s tories. It is not unusual that a journalist receives severe warnings or even de ath threats from gang members or business tycoons when they set out to trace cr imes and business scandals. Hence, it takes immense determination and persevera nce to be a genuinely dependable journalist.

Lastly, a trustworthy journalist must be able to present keen observations on t he covered events. To produce truly instructive coverage, a reporter must posses s the capacity to analyze and synthesize the information he/she gathers. This r equires penetrating insights and outstanding analytical skills. Only when an in dividual meets such requirements can he/she create in-depth coverage of events.

To conclude, to be a reliable source of information, a journalist must possess self-discipline, tenacity and insights. Otherwise, his professionalism would be questionable indeed.

the birth of cars have made an enormous change to our life.in the past,we trave l from one place to another only by foot, nowadays, cars can do it .its goes wi thout saying that the invention of cars bring great benefit to all of us.but a s proverb goes:no garden without weeds.car is not exception.

owing a car has a lot of advantages.for one thing, car provide us the most conve nient way of transportation.we can get around freely without spending a lot o

Cars bring the human merits, their side-effects gradually come to the surface.fi rstly,to run a car need a lot of oil, which is getting less and less.the increas ing number of cars contribute the lacking of energy.secondly,as more and mor

therefore, the new energy should be explored to replace the oil so that our envi ronmental pollution can be avoided .and the strick law should be issued to kee p the numbers of cars under control.thus, our heavier traffic can be solved!

范文2

As traffic problems become more and more serious in many cities of developed an d developing countries, their governments have to try hard and loads of money a nd energy have been spent to deal with them.

Firstly, it is not efficient for the commuters to use their private cars to an d back from their workplaces. Occasionally we can see they have to sit on the w heels wasting time and fuel in a heavy traffic jam. At the same time, through b urning the fossil fuels, green house gas CO2, CO1, acid rain gas SO2, fumes an d dusts are being released into the atmosphere, all of which heavily overload t he environment. Thirdly, with the increase of private cars, the road traffic ac cidents are also rise dramatically. For example, in a city with 5000 cars, ther e will be at least 250 accidents happening everyday, which also burden the publ ic healthy services.

On the contrary, expected public traffic may be an ideal solution to these prob lems. For example city buses and railways are widely used or being constructe

d by many cities. Peopl

e can take buses easily, which can be found every 10 min utes or less in the peak time. Actually, Nottingham Transport Company is buildi ng its own light railway in the city, which is announced by the speak man o

f th e company, “It will be completed in the next year, the tickets will be very co mpetitive and at the same time the travel will be very safe and comfortable.”

On the other hand, public traffic had its own disadvantages. Usually it canno

t provide door-to-door service. It is inconvenient to go shopping by public veh icles. Sometimes you must wait a long time for the train. And quite a lot of pe ople prefer to enjoy driving.

In conclusion, developing the public traffic is a useful approach to deal wit

h these difficulties. One possible way, if not the best, is to taxi private car s heavily and use these revenues to provide citizens cheaper public traffic ser vices.

With the development of science and technology, the cars have already become th e important component in our daily life gradually. Cars make our life convenien t and swift. However, too many cars have caused very serious social problems. S ome people claim that the disadvantages of car are more than the advantage

Since one century [ago], the auto industry has [been] developed at full speed w orldwide, and has brought the enormous progresses to our life. For example, th e car is the most convenient tool of transportation. We can [be] on and off dut y by car every day, we can go to travel by car on the vacation, we can utiliz

e the cars to deal with some emergency too. The car [is] playing an important r ole in our daily life. They make our rhythm o

On the other hand, the development of the automobile has brought a lot of infan t industry to people, Give people countless employment opportunities too. Suc

In a word, the cars have brought enormous change to our life; the advantages ar e far more than the disadvantages. We should recognize the merit of the cars, a nd do our best to solve the problems. If so, our life will be brighter.

Computers are widely used in education and some people think teachers are

not playing an important role in classroom. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The 21st century is the period of information, in which computers will play an important role in every area of our lives. Recently, computer assisted education has become more and more popular in primary schools, high

schools and colleges. The computer’s multimedia abilities make the classes lively and interesting. As a result, some people have said that teachers are no longer playing a significant role in classroom.I can hardly agree with the m.

First, it is the teacher who creates the software used in class. For example, the software may be an outline of the teacher’s lecture. If you listen to som e lectures, you will find that the lectures contain far more information than the multimedia software includes. While showing the class, most teachers will expand the knowledge extent, especially adding some latest discoveries and breakthroughs. So, the computer is just an assistant, which makes the class more vivid and clear. Teachers and students are the main part of a class. Second, computers cannot organize activities in class in place of teachers. For example, we often do some group work during classes, and it is the teachers who set the groups and control the time. After checking our homework, teachers will understand what the real weakness of students is,

and adjust their classes to improve their teaching, while computers cannot. Moreover, the interaction between students and teachers is very useful.During the asking and answering of questions, students pose problems and find answers more clearly. But computers, now, have not that intelligence.

All in all, although computer technology is developing very quickly and computers can solve more and more problems without people, teachers still play an important role in class. And I insist that, no matter how the technology develops, teachers will be in the front of the classroom forever

范文2

The computer is widely used in education, and some people think teachers d

o not play important roles in the classroom. To what extend do you agree or

disagree?

In this period of communication, computer has been used in all kinds of fields widely, and plays a particular role in our lives. Especially computer has become more and more important in educational field, therefore dozens of people considered teachers could be replaced computers that will go with the current of the times. The above point is certainly wrong; this essay will outl ine three reasons.

The main reason is that people’s brain better than computer. Firstly, people design all kinds of computer’s programs. Secondly, computer doesn’t have log istic ideation. Computer only can defend on that designer inputted computer’s programs to judge a question’s right or wrong. In other words,

computer can’t defend on thinking that computer independently analyzes a

question’s right or wrong. In case, designer inputted programs that are wrong. Computer output the result that also will be wrong. If this kind of problem happened in classroom, students would be infused plenty of wrong information.

Another reason is that computer’s programs designed software of education

that could be amended difficultly. If software of education of bugs were foun d, commonly these of problems couldn’t be solved in the classroom. The softwar e was amended that means total of program were corrected, not only

parts of program were inserted or amended usually.

Last but not the least reason is computer is mechanical,it couldn’t be suited all kinds of students and different demands. As students’ intellect is differ ent, same of software couldn’t base on every status of student to set a perfec t project.

In conclusion, computers couldn’t instead of the position of teachers in the classroom, however computer is an absolutely good helper for teacher

范文3

In this IT age, computers are widely used in the classroom in order to enrich t he methods of teaching. This phenomenon gives some the illusion that the thin

g teaching students is no longer the teacher but a computer. Personally, I disa gree with this opinion.

As another machines, computer doesn’t enable to control itself. Though compute rs are capable of learning from their mistakes and improving on their performan ce, they need details instructions from human being in order to be able to oper ate. They can never, as it were lead independent lives, no mention teaching stu dents. In case a computer lacks the control of a teacher, there is no differenc e between a computer and waste.

Not only this, but computers, unlike a teacher, can’t solve a variety of new p roblems. Everything is developing in today’s society, including education. Fo r example, a student suddenly asks a creative question that the computer isn’t programmed for, it can do nothing, while teacher can explain clearly though a bundant teaching experience.

Last but not least, the computer can’t communicate with students from emotio n. Such as an eyesight or gesture of teacher can transfer his or her idea and f eeling to students. In this way, students can feel more human touch in the clas s. In comparison, the computer is too dry and dusty to understand.

All in all, no matter how nice a computer is, it can’t take the place of teach er. Of course, I don’t mean that computer is useless. In contrary, I believe i t will become the most powerful assistants to teacher in further.

范文4

Computer, the most exciting and significant invention in 20 century, will resha pe our lives and our world. As a result, some people proclaim that computers sh ould be involved into our classroom, and replace the roles of human teachers. H owever, I cannot agree with their point of view.

Admittedly, as the useful tools, computers can become the optimum assistants fo r human teachers in the classroom. To beginning, vivid pictures shown on scree n can motivate students’ interest and curiosity dramatically. Moreover, the co mbination of computers and Internet can provide children the abundant informati on. Although computers enjoy considerable merits, they cannot compare with huma n teachers for two main reasons.

Among countless factors which influence my inclination, there is a most conspic uous one: computers are not as qualified as human teachers in academic field s. As we all know, students can get the final result of a mathematic question u nder the help of computers, however, they are still confused on the whole compu ting process. By contrast, our human teachers’ performance is much better in t hose cases. They not only can teach students how to analyze and compute the que stion, but also can remind them what are the possible errors that they may mee t. Thus, human teachers are more adequate than computers in academic aspect.

The second advantage of human teachers is they can guide students to deal wit

h some psychological problems that they meet in schools. In China, sometimes, t eachers even burden many responsibilities that students’ parents have. For exa mple, as for the student with rebellious spirit, the important duty for teacher s is to prevent the student from campus violence, even crime. Obviously, comput ers cannot do that.

In summary, from what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the con clusion that the positions of human teachers are unshakable, and computers cann ot take the places of them.

范文5

with the development of new technology and science, computer are widely used i

n education.therefore, some people think we don’t need teachers anymore.i total ly disagree with the above point.

there is no denying that the computer bring great benefit to people and are o

f great help to https://www.doczj.com/doc/7315330628.html,puter can be programmed to simple digits of questio n,as the students answer these digits, their theoretical knowledge can be reinfo rced.

however,in practice and learning of complex questions, computer can never replac e the human brain or surpass the human https://www.doczj.com/doc/7315330628.html,puter only can tell you r the final correct answer.but it cant provide students opportunity to think ov er it,which limited their creativity.teaching itself is an art rather than a me chanical activity.therefore, teachers function can not be neglected.

https://www.doczj.com/doc/7315330628.html,puter only can do work according to the procedure formulated previou sly.they can not answer all question in different way.teachers, however, can teac h students according their attitudes.some students who have better ability to a ccept knowledge, under teachers' guidance, can be save time to gain other knowled ge.

secondly, facing the vivid delivery from teachers, students can be improved thei r motivation and concentration.the effective communication operated by teacher s not only can help students understand the knowledge, teachers also can teach s tudents how to be a valuable people, which cant be done by computer.

in addition, various teaching methods can help student absorb the knowledge rapi dly.when students meet with the thorny question, teachers not only can explain i t in different way, they also can show them the important deductive process.

therefore,i would say teacher is the good compensation for flexibility lackin

g in the computer.i totally disagree with view that we don’t need teachers an ymore!

范文6

Computer, as the most powerful tool in 21 century, is widely used in educatio

n areas. Whether computers can instead of teachers become a controversial issu e. From my point, I don’t think computers can take the place of teachers. First and foremost, computer cannot communicate with students. Every human bein g has feeling. Teachers are not only teaching students knowledge but also showi

ng their loves to students when they are teaching. How to have a conversation w ith others and how to take care of others can be learned from teachers. For exa mple, teacher can take you to the hospital when you are sick. In comparison, co mputers cannot likely to it.

Secondly, computers cannot help students when the get confused. Asking teacher s is the best way to do when students get any quires. However, computers do no t have this function. Study is a two-way process, teachers can excite student s’ imaginations and fire their creations.

Last but not least, computers cannot organize teaching activities instead of te achers. Take England as an example, students need to do a lot of practical expe riments, especially in physics and chemistry. When they do these experiments, s tudents usually work together as a group and discuss with teachers. Team work i s a very important part to shape students’ personalities.

From what has been discussed above, we might safely say that computers can neve r take the place of teachers. We should always remember that human beings are t he host of technology and computer is a machine no matter how clever it is!

范文7

With more and more extensive use of computers in education, some people claim t hat the importance attached to teachers has been jeopardized. Therefore, comput ers will replace teachers in the classroom. However, it seems quite clear to m e that learning from teachers is the most important way that cannot be substitu ted for students.

Naturally, some people maintain that computer should instead of the old way o f education. They hold that the strong function of the computer offers a new mo de of education, which is more interesting, more vivid and more acceptable by c hildren. The students will not face to the serious teachers and calm classes an y more, which are replaced by a brand-new world offered by the Internet. In add ition, this can decrease the investment on the foundational education and sav

e the human resources and material resources.

As an assistant, computers do help teachers with their work, but they can neve r replace the important role of a real teacher. The main functions of any compu ter are storage and calculation. It cannot think on its own anyway. All the tea ching data stored in computers are the essence of teaching experience generaliz ed by many teachers during their work. Hence, to assist education, what a compu ter can do is just to repeat the contents summarized by real teachers.

In addition, each student has different talents and different defects, and acco rdingly, they may come across various problems during their study. Computer pro grammer designing the software, however, cannot predict these problems. Therefo re, a single computer can never solve these problems without a teacher’s guida nce

Furthermore, if the significance of teacher has been weakened, the number of te achers may be decreased, that is to say, many teachers may be laid-off. If suc h a case comes to reality, series of social problems will break out, such as th e drop of working opportunity which will surely make the burden of whole societ y become heavier and heavier.

In conclusion, although computer-aided-education has spread widely, teachers st ill play s crucial part in the classroom, which cannot and will not be replace d by computer.

范文8

as the most important invention in the 21 century, computers have windspread i

n the world, and the use of it has become the necessity of various spheres bot

h in our work and in our daily life. although computers are also greatly utiliz ed in the education field, teachers are still playing a crucial part on the plat form. personally,i believe that teachers should not be replaced by computers du e to the following reasons.

being the architect of human being's moral, teachers shoulder the responsibili ties of passing knowledge to students as well as shaping them to be real men wi th good qualities. students may learn some certain knowledge from computers whi ch are cold and senseless, but good qualities can only be taught by teachers.

at the same time, computers might not give detailed and understandable elaborati on of complicated theories. after judging whether the answers are right or wron g computers fail to tell them why they make such mistakes. the problems can onl y be dealt with by teachers.

in addition, some elementary academic exchanges, such as discussion and associati on,cannot be organized by computers.nevertheless, teachers make up the deficie ncy.by this means, students' learning enthusiasm is greatly activated.

above all, computers bring about many significant revolutions in the education f ield, but teachers are still the hosts of the classroom.we should always bear i n mind that men are the owner of technology and no matter how intelligent the c omputers are, they are merely man-made machines.

范文9

Along with the mass use of computer technology in education circles, we are del ighted to witness the uncountable conveniences be brought by computer. Some peo ple even argue that teacher will not be important in classroom any more. Is thi s reasonable? Personal speaking, I oppose holding such a ridiculous conclusion.

In the first place, the feature of teaching defines teachers as an essential pa rt in education. It is well known that teaching is a process of mutual-communic ation: firstly, teachers impart/initiate knowledge or ideas to students, then s tudents should promptly transfer their feedback to teachers, moreover, teacher s will give students the final interpretation according to their specific requi rement. Besides, teachers also can (teach students in accordance of their aptit ude). In contrast, what computers can do is merely to display materials which h ave already stored in their EMS memory or mechanically execute operator’s comm ands. We actually can not image what our education will being if computers subs titute teachers totally.

As to another reason, it seems that teacher’s role as a supervisor is more an d more overt. Computer is indeed a controversy, it not only can be an efficien t education assistant, but also can become an addiction which includes too muc h violent and (pornographic propaganda). Youngsters do not mature fully in psyc hology, therefore, without teachers' supervision, many children would spend hou rs playing computer games or surfing unhealthy websites, which are regarded a

s a waste of valuable time and intelligence, instead of trying to have a good c ommand of knowledge and skills.

We never deny that computers are absolutely an available education implement s, furthermore, the combination of teacher and computer technology will greatl y improve our education quality. However, from all of the grounds of argument m entioned above, we can safely draw a conclusion that teacher will not be replac ed by computer in the classroom.

范文10

Computers nowadays are more and more widely used in education. Hence, some peop le claim that teachers are no longer playing important roles in the classroo m. I completely agree with this statement. Although teacher may be more emotion al than computers, the later actually far outdoes in educating students, for th e following three reasons.

First, it is an undoubted fact that computer are more likely to provide suffici ent information to students. Neither a well trained graduate from education ins titute nor an experienced teacher can offer more knowledge than an advanced com puter.Human brain is more suitable for creative activities, but not in conveyin g information. As a result of the rapid development in technology, the compute r’s capacity of containing information will become much stronger.

Second, computers are more efficient in educating students than teachers, not o nly because they will merely make mistakes, but also due to that the will not feel worn out after a long time of work. It goes without saying that teacher s are some times complained to transfer mistaken messages to students. And th

e latter, lack o

f enough related knowledge, finally become the victims of suc

h mistakes. Furthermore, as they were so tired after a whole day working, teach ers are often slow in reaction while asked questions by students. Computers, wh ich can never effected by emotional factors, have no such disadvantages.

Last but not least, children are becoming more and more familiar with computer s while they are being taught by this new technology. It’s widely accepted tha t computer has become an essential tool for our daily life. Children could lea rn how to master it better by the process of being educated by it rather th an taking an intentional class presented by a teacher. Classroom, as every body believes, is a place where students learn knowledge and skills, both acade mic and practical. So it should be the duty for school to prepare students fo

r the computer-oriented society.

All in all, although teachers still contribute to education, we can’t turn a b lind eye to the fact that they are not important any more compared to another k ind of tutors-computers

Growth in air travel harms environment(飞行增多危害环境) Climate change experts from the Tyndall Climate Research Centre in Britain have said urgent action(紧急行动)is needed to curb the rapid growth in air travel(抑制飞行的快速增长)if the government is to meet its commitments(实现承诺)on tackling global warming(处理温室效应). This report from Stephen Evans: Falling ticket price and rising incomes are leading to rapid growth in global air travel.(导致国际航空业迅速发展的原因是机票价格的下降和收入水平的提升。)According to the British government, the number of British air passengers, for example, will more than double in the next quarter of a century(下一个25年). Increases of such an order would mean much more aviation fuel(燃油)being burned and aviation fuel may be more harmful to the environment than other fuels because the resulting smoke is emitted at high altitudes(高海拔). A group of scientists at the environmental research group, the Tyndall Centre, says that if Britain is to meet its overall target for cutting damaging emissions(减少有害气体排放), other uses of fuel like for heating homes or driving cars would have to be cut dramatically. The British government wants the use of aviation fuel covered by international agreement on the environment. The difficulty for any individual government(任何政府)is that taxing fuel used at its own airports might push airlines to move their operations to competing airports in other countries. https://www.doczj.com/doc/7315330628.html,/worldservice/learningenglish/newsenglish/witn/2005/09/050921_aviation.sh tml Calls to control low-cost flights(限制廉价航空) Cheap flights(廉价航空)on no frills airlines may not be a burden on our wallets but they will dearly cost the UK's environment(严重危害环境), campaigners believe. 雅思写作素材Crime

Crime 类范文 犯罪类 There are an increasing number of juvenile delinquents. What are the causes of this phenomenon? 只分析一个方面(产生原因),写成5段式 开头段(不少于4句) In this day and age, the incidence of juvenile offenses has been growing at an alarming rate. Today, the sheer number of juvenile offenders has reached staggering proportions. A recent survey conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences revealed that one out of four crimes today was carried out by minors. Hence, it is imperative that we pinpoint the causes of this disturbing phenomenon. 主体段1(不少于4句) In the first place, many instance of juvenile delinquency have been attributed to the violent or pornographic content of some TV shows and video games. Now we are facing a proliferation of blood and guts and nudity on TV, the computer and the Internet. Many youngsters, especially boys, get addicted to such scenes. Lacking the capacity to distinguish between right and wrong, they develop criminal tendencies. 主体段2(不少于4句) In the second place, parental neglect and domestic violence play a pivotal role in the increase of youth crimes. Today there are an ever-growing number of dysfunctional families. The children raised in such families tend to be afflicted with constant fear. In the end, they develop a hatred for society and other individuals. 主体段3(不少于4句) In the third place, there is a definite correlation between the increase of juvenile crime rate and the rise of adult crime rate in society. The more adult crimes, the higher the probability of youngsters falling prey to adult offenders. Many youths are tempted by evil adults into committing crimes. And some others are victims of adult offenses and become criminals themselves to get their revenge on society. 结尾段(不少于2句) In sum, many factors contribute to the surge of juvenile delinquency. It is crucial that we take vigorous measures to tackle these problems and ensure that the future or our nation—that is, the youngsters, have a more promising future ahead of them. Crime 类8分范文 Some people think the media should not report details of crimes to the public. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 一边倒写法=写完全同意或者完全不同意:五段式 开头段(不少于4句) With the crime rate hovering at high level, the print media as well as the electronic media dedicate large proportions of their space or airtime to detailed crime coverage. Whether the media should present detailed accounts of crimes has triggered spirited debate. Many assert that the news media should stop giving details of crimes. Speaking for myself, I totally agree with their views. 表示同意可以替换成approve of /wholeheartedly support/ cannot agree with their view more/ consent to/ am for 不同意可以替换成disagree with/ am against/ am opposed to / object to/ disapprove of/ cannot go along with 主体段1(不少于4句) In the first place, given the mercenary motives behind most detailed crime coverage, it is imperative that we discourage such coverage. The principal purpose of reporter covering criminal acts is to boost newspaper circulations or television ratings; much detailed crime coverage is biased or exaggerated. It only serves to leave a multitude of citizens constantly fearful about crime. 主体段2(不少于4句) In the second place, detailed reports of crimes by the press afford the potential criminals very useful learning materials. Reporting crimes in graphic detail helps those who are in the process of plan some criminal act to perfect their plans. Drawing on the well-documented crime stories in the media, would-be criminals learn how to avoid the mistakes in their crime. And this may aggravate the already soaring crime rate. 主体段3(不少于4句) In the third place, detailed reports of heinous crimes may traumatize the victims of the reported crimes. The reporters rarely consult the victims before they describe details of horrific crimes to the public. Hence, such reports become nothing more than an attempt to satisfy the curiosity of some base minds. Without

雅思写作素材-动物实验

Animal 类 范文 Some people think animal experimentation should be stopped because it is cruel. Others think it is necessary for the development of science. Discuss both view and give your own opinion. Animals were friend of foes of humanity at different times of the human history. In modern times, experiments upon animals have long been a breeding ground for spirited debate. Some animal right activists argue that we should ban animal experiments altogether because putting animals through experimentation is unjustifiable on moral grounds. Yet some other people contend that the advancement of science necessitates animal testing. Personally, I believe both their views have merit and demerit. Granted, empirical evidence suggests that many animal experiments are performed callously without any attention to the discomfort or pain that laboratory mammals endure. First and foremost, improper confinement of test animals such as locking them up in cramped cages is inhumane. It can gravely disrupt natural biological functions of the test animal. Further, the effects of vaccination and vivisection conducted on live mammals can be chilling. They may, in some case, even constitute sheer torture of live animals. However, from a more pragmatic perspective, evidence bounds that animal subjects are still an indispensable part at this point. In the first place, it is manifest that drug experimentation on live mammals is far more effective than experimentation on bacteria or on other lower species in testing drug safety. Drugs that have severe potential side effects on Homo sapiens must be tested by pharmaceutical companies on live mammals first to ascertain their toxicity. In the second place, in space research, live animals are still the only practical alternative to humans in testing living creature reaction to outer-space experience on a flight not considered to be sufficiently safe for human astronauts. Lastly, lab research about the behavioral tendencies of chimpanzees, gorillas and other members of the primate group is also necessary. It produces outcomes consistently advancing anthropological and genetic studies. To conclude, I concede that experiments upon animals may induce suffering to the test animals. However, I am convinced that there are no feasible alternatives to this methodology at the current stage of scientific development. On balance, I think that we should allow animals testing to be continued but at the same time we use techniques such as anesthetic to minimize the pain of the test animal. The growing concern about fashion in recent years comes as no surprise, considering the fact that fashion is very often at odds with the traditional function of clothing, protecting wearers from the extremes of weather. In my opinion, fashion is not a betrayal but an indicative of a principle that wearing clothing is for both functional and social reasons. Fashions are linked to personal style. Fashions allow wearers to express emotion and solidarity with other people. People dress to their mood and according to circumstances. Buying fashionable clothes is a

雅思写作素材Technology & media

Technology & media 类 科技类 People today can perform the everyday tasks such as shopping, banking or even business transactions, without meeting others face-to-face. What effects will this phenomenon have on individuals and society as a whole? 开头段(不少于3+1句) The interactivity of the Internet and the mobile phone has enabled a multitude of people to purchase their desired items or pay their phone bills without stepping out of their offices or homes. And many others can even register for tests or sign contracts online. This sweeping trend of going about everyday business in the virtual world has triggered a marked decline in face-to-face contact between people. Thus, it is essential that we identify the implication of this trend on both individuals and society as a whole. 主体段1(不少于1+6句) The impact of this phenomenon on individuals is profound. First, Individual efficiency in business transaction and banking will be greatly enhanced. And those who dread shopping are spared the chore of browsing around in shops. Secondly, the increasingly sedentary lifestyle will engender a higher incidence of ailment. More overweight people means more patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases such as vein hardening, diabetes and hypertension. Thirdly, the absence of face-to-face contact may induce distrust between business partners. An inherent sense of disbelief is apt to ruin a telecommunicated negotiation when negotiators can only see videos of each other transmitted via the Internet. 主体段2(不少于1+6句) This trend also has widespread repercussions on society as a whole. In the first place, the burgeoning e-commerce will, doubtless, boost corporate efficiency immeasurably. And higher efficiency means more earnings and less costs for businesses. In the second place, online fraud, be it banking or trading, retail or wholesale, is sure to abound in the cyberspace. We must search for practicable and effectual means of curbing it. In the third place, the proliferation of e-commerce may exacerbate man's overdependence on technology. And that can render our lives unspontaneous and our tempo of life too fast and furious. 结尾段(不少于2句)
