In the era of 21th century, with the economic and cultural communication , the world have become more and more harmonious . Some people believe that increasing business and cultural contacts have benefit and positive influences upon the development, while others believe that it has negative impact on national identity.
First of all, the economic communication may assist in the developing country especially the country in Africa in order to improve their living standards. What’s more, the culture communication can preserve and promote diversity. Compared with the culture of the other country, people can build up national identity and realize the important of traditional culture. It’s ridiculous that the society must abandon traditional culture if it wants to develop. And diversity is a source of nation’s continuing creativity, liveliness and innovation. In addition, multiculturalism encourages people integrate into their society and take part in society.
Each thing has two sides. Sometimes the cultural globalization may cause the cultural clashes including the cultural biases and discrimination or religious conflicts, which cause the war in the country or between the country such as the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict. More important, due to the invasion of foreign culture, some people only attach importance to the foreign culture while to ignore the traditional culture in our country .It’s a pity that the unique cultural identity is on the verge of extinction, vanishing at an astonishing rate.
In my opinion, it’s significant to dispose the relationship between the indigenous culture and foreign culture. The best way to adopting the foreign culture is to absorb the essence and discard the dregs. What’s more, avoiding the cultural conflicts especially the religious conflicts can decrease the number of wars. Therefore, the more harmonious world will come.
