The Saturday evening performance was organized as part of the activities to mark the opening ceremony of the 5th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the China Cultural Center in Abuja and the 2018 celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on Monday this year.

People who have lived through the traumas of war often lean more heavily on religion afterward, sometimes for many years down the line. This is the takeaway of a new study. Researchers say the findings highlight the ways and which war can drive major social changes long after the battles have ended.

In the study, an international team of researchers gathered information from over 1,700 interviews with people from 71 villages across Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, and Uganda. In all cases, they found membership in religious groups increased among people who had been more exposed to war.

These people were also more likely to rank religion as playing a significant role in their lives.

“One of the more interesting findings was that in some cases we found the effect endures,” Henrich said, “In Takikistan we find the effect even 13 years post-conflict, and there’s no sense in which it declines.”The study focused only on changes in religious devotions among individuals in the same village, the team notes.

“There could be many reasons why people in different villages might be more or less religious,” Henric h said. “It could also be that a particular village was attacked more than another, but by comparing people from the same village we were able to remove that variation.”

The researchers say the findings shed light on the cultural shifts that often take place even long after a war has ended. “It could affect the direction in which institutions evolve, or the policies that governments pursue,” Henrich said. “And there are policy implications as well, because if you’re concerned about religious extremism and you deal with it through violence, then you make it worse. So these war shocks

Tourism is a major industry in Italy, which contributes to a steady growth in an otherwise slow economy. Italy is the world's fifth most visited country. According to analytics firm Statistica, tourism today accounts for around 11 percent of Italy's economy, a figure expected to rise to around 15 percent within a decade. It is therefore a much-needed source of tax revenue for Italian government.

But the impact is not always positive. The latest ratings of Italian cities and towns on the basis of quality of life continue to illustrate a trend, that the cities with the best results are small and wealthy, with few tourists. Meanwhile, the country's main tourist centers, led by Florence, Rome and Venice, fare poorly. And the top cities on the index for quality of life turned out to be Trentino and Belluno, both in northeastern Italy. Neither is a popular choice for tourist guide books.

"Once the number of tourists grow to a certain point, there isn't a way to cater to them and provide quality services to residents," Mariarita Signorini, president of Italia Nostra, an organization that focuses on protecting Italy's artistic and cultural heritage, told the Xinhua News Agency. Giuliano Nuvolati, a sociologist specializing in environmental and urban issues at Milano Bicocca University, noted that cities that focus on the needs of tourists over their residents risk becoming open-air museums.

The Italian city that has done the best job at managing the needs of visitors and residents is probably Milan, the country's capital of finance and fashion, second in population only to the political and tourist capital of Rome. Though Milan, where Nuvolati works, is still ranked in the middle, it differs from Florence, Rome and Venice in that it has climbed up slightly in the latest rankings, moving up two spots to 55th.

Though Milan is not much of a tourist attraction like the other cities, it does draw millions of visitors a year, many for business reasons. But even Milan is struggling to maintain quality of life.

32. According to Statistica, in the next ten years the percentage of tourism in Italy’s economy will increase by ________.

A. 11%

B. 15%

C. 4%

D. 26%

33. What’s the main idea of Paragraph 2 and 3?

A. The challenges that Italy faces.

B. Italy is no longer a popular choice for tourists.

C. Italian cities should focus on the needs of tourists.

D. Governments should make efforts to attract tourists.

34. What do we know about Milan?

A. It is Italy’s political capital.

B. It ranked 57 in the last rankings.

C. It is one of main tourist centers in Italy.

D. It meets the needs of visitors over residents.

35. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?

A. At a Crossroads

B. Tourism, Italy’s Major Industry

C. Top cities on the index for quality of life

D. Ways to Balance Tourism And Quality of Life

How Often You Should Restart Your Phone

For many of us, our smartphones have become a touchstone of life. It affects how we do our jobs, interact with our friends and family, and even how we access important information like our banking, and healthcare. __ _36___ Experts say that knowing simple care tips, such as how often to shut it down, can drastically affect how well your phone will continue to perform the older it gets.

But just how often do we need to shut off our smartphones? As opposed to how often you need to shut down your computer, your smartphone has a more hard and fast rule you should live by: once a week, shut it off, let it rest at least one minute, and then you can fire it back up.

____37____ And it’s for a good cause: retaining memory, preventing crashes, running more smoothly, and prolonging battery life.

Crashing happens for various reasons, but not restarting your phone can definitely have an effect here as well, as every update, page loaded, and app installed or deleted will add and remove code in the operating system of the phone. _ _ _38_ __

The good news is that even though failing to restart your phone periodically could zap memory and cause crashes, it won’t directly kill your battery. What could kill your battery is always rushing to recharge. “_ __39_ __” says Motamedi. “It’s recommended that you let the battery drain down to 0 percent, and then refill it back up to 100 percen t.”

To help preserve memory and prevent crashes, consider restarting your smartphone at least once a week. ___40___

A. The same is true for laptops.

B. But are you taking proper care of it?

C. Here are other things you can do to help prolong(延长) your smartphone battery.
