例: Man proposes, God disposes. God help those who help themselves. God sends meat and the devil sends cooks. Each cross hath its own inscription.

Never cast your pearls before swine. Judge not according to appearance. Great men are not always wise.

对中英谚语的研究与英语学习初探 组员:冯勤兴、林月敏、叶嘉仪、冯敏仪 指导老师:肖可琦 (培英中学) Abstract: We do research on the similarity and difference between Chinese sayings and English sayings. From so many examples around us,we have found that the little sayings play an important part in a co untry’s culture history, custom, and so on. We try to find out if the English sayings can help students know more about western culture and thus study English in a better and easier way. 1. Glad it’s all over! 2. Learning to speak English is a piece of cake.
