一、考查目标
中南财经政法大学硕士研究生入学《翻译与写作》考试是为本校招收攻读英语语言文学专业（050201）和外国语言学与应用语言学专业（050211）的硕士学位研究生设置的具有选拔性质的考试科目。其目的是科学、公平、有效地测试考生是否具有攻读上述学位所必需的基本素质、语言能力和培养潜能。它要求考生具有较强的文字材料理解能力、书面表达能力和英汉汉英双向翻译能力。
二、考试形式
闭卷笔试，试卷满分为150分，考试时间为180分钟。考试由两部分组成，第一部分为翻译，第二部分为写作，各占75分。
三、考查范围
1、翻译：考察应试者是否能够在基础的翻译理论指导下应用适当的策略与技巧实现一般题材和一般难度文本的英汉汉英的双向互译，同时考察应试者是否具备基本的跨文化交际意识来实现原文本中文化因素的传译。要求译文忠实原文，无明显误译、漏译；译文通顺，用词正确、表达基本无误；译文无明显语法错误；英译汉速度每小时250-350个外语单词，英译外速度每小时150-250个汉字。
翻译包含两个题目：英译汉和汉译英，英译汉50分，用时60分钟；汉译英25分，用时30分钟。
2、写作
写作包括两个题目
第一题：叙事短文写作（25分）。根据题目要求写出一篇记叙文，要求紧扣题目，叙述简洁清楚，内容完整，语言规范流畅，有真情实感。字数为200—300。
第二题：论说文写作（50分）
要求内容切题、完整、重点突出、论据充分；表达清楚、语言简
洁、规范、准确；意义连贯、语言流畅、地道；思路清晰、逻辑性强。字数为500字左右。
