《英语听力》课程教学大纲
一、课程说明
《英语听力》课程是英语专业必修专业基础课,为核心课程之一,与其他专业基础课程,如英语口语、英语阅读、英语写作等互为补充,是英语基本技能培养的关键环节。
二、教学目的及要求
本课程的主要目标是提高学生英语听力理解能力,为说英语打下基础,同时培养学生良好的听力习惯,刺激学生主动学习的动力,通过听力理解提升的过程,培养学生的思辨能力、合作交流以及自主学习的能力。通过系统的训练,使学生能逐渐掌握各种英语听力技巧,听懂不同体裁和题材的听力材料。
在第一学年结束时,学生能够掌握以下技能:
(1)能听懂简单的日常生活用语,能听懂难度基本上不超过所学语言知识面,题材又较为熟悉的报道或日常生活交谈,可以抓住中心大意、理解概要内容,同时能辨别讲话者的态度和语气。本学年的听力素材涉及到人类生活的以下方面:教育、人口及语言、旅行、各国文化、网络时代、体育运动、交通、财经报道、和平与发展、新年计划和对未来的展望、婚恋家庭、人的个性、事业规划、成功的秘诀、科学报道、体育运动、休闲生活、环境保护、以及新闻听力等。
(2)培养以下具体的听力技巧:理解数字、找准中心思想和提前预判、怎样列出一篇听力语篇的提纲、学会放弃个别听不懂的单词,跟上说话者语速和怎样在听新闻报道时抓住新闻提要等。
(3)能听懂"美国之音"慢速英语广播中的新闻和报道,要求抓住核心观点。
(4)能在15分钟内听写字数不超过150字的短文,念四遍,第一、四遍语速为正常语速,第二、三遍有停顿,要求错误率不超过10%。
在第二学年结束时,学生能够掌握以下技能:
(1)能听懂中等难度(如TOEFL中的短文)的听力材料,理解大意,领会说话人的态度、感情和真实意图。
(2)能大体辨别各种带方言口音的英语(如美式英语、英式英语、印度英语等)。
(3)听懂VOA正常速度和BBC新闻节目的主要内容。
(4)能在15分钟内听写词数为200个左右、语速为每分钟120个单词的短文,错误率不超过8%。
三、学时分配
该课程安排在第一、第二学年的四个学期,第一学期16周,第二学期18周,第三学期18周,第四学期18周,每周2学时,共计140学时,学分计为8个学分。
