The distance is nothing ,when one has a motive. Mrs.Bennet’s eyes sparkled with pleasure. We must trespass a litter longer on your kindness. Mrs.Bennet was profuse in her acknowledgements. I often tell my other girls they are nothing to her. That is my idea of good breading;and those persons who fancy themselves very important and never open their mouths , quiet mistake the matter. A lady’s imagination is very rapid;it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony . Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us. He is ate up with pride. Upon my word ! Affectation of candour is common enough –one meets it everywhere. But to be candid without ostentation or design—to take the good of everybody’s character and make it still better , and say nothing of the bad—belongs to you alone Mr. Bennet was so odd a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humor, reserve, and caprice, that the experience of three and twenty years had been insufficient to make his wife understand his character. Everything nourishes what is strong already. She had high animal spirits, and a sort of self-consequence. The day passed much as the day before had done.

Although our hearts still have some expectation for love, we believe that love is sacred. But gradually, like wealth, background, politics, more and more things go beyond love, above all else, to our life,to our heart.

When Prid e Encounters Prejudice, Everything is Different Ⅰ: Jane Austen (16 December 1775 –18 July 1817), one of the most famous novelists in Britain, was born in Hampshire. She lived in the villages throughout her life. Although there were 2 suitors, she never married. She finished her first novel when she was only 21 years old. This work’s name was First Impressions (After amending, it had a new name: Pride and Prejudice). Ⅱ: Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and marriage. Mr. Bennet was an English gentleman living in Hertfordshire with his wife. He had five daughters: the beautiful Jane, the clever Elizabeth, the bookish Mary, the immature Kitty and the wild Lydia. Because of the law, after the death of Mr. Bennet, their house would be inherited by a distant cousin whom they have never met. This family's future happiness and security dependent on the 5 daughters’ marriages. One day, a rich gentleman Mr. Bingley came and rented a large house in this country. His sisters and his best friend Mr. Darcy came together. Love was soon in the air for one of the 5 sisters, while another had a prejudice against Mr. Darcy. Then they experienced many things, but at last, Mr. Bingley married the oldest sister Jane, and Elizabeth overcame the prejudice and married to Mr. Darcy. It’s a happy ending. Ⅲ: Although Mr. Song said the book report should be objective, but I had to say this book touched my heart d eeply. The women written by Jane Austen still live in our world. Some like Charlotte Lucas, they choose a marriage without love just for money and a stable life. Some like Lydia, they are so frivolous and foolish that they flatter themselves that they can do anything well. Some like Mary, they are not good-looking but think themselves are the best ones. They look down every man while they are eager for a man’s love in their hearts. Some like Jane, they are kind and beautiful, but they are also reserved and feminine。They don’t have courage to fight for the love of their own but wait here in vain. And there are also some girls like innocent Ms Darcy or like vainglorious and superficially clever Bingley sisters. Of course, some girls like Elizabeth, they are clever, gentle, open-minded, and they know their own hearts. They never give in even facing a difficult situation. They are good ladies who are worth loving and cherishing. Jane Austen’s wisdom always appeals to me, which makes me smile through the whole reading.

Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is

My Reflection on Pride and Prejudice

the overall summary ?The story Pride and Prejudice was grounded on the village life in England of the nineteen century.?Elizabeth, who's also named Lizzie, was born in a civilian-class family but loved by the young rich man,Mr.Darcy.Mr.Darcy overcame the concept of family status and proposed to Lizzie. However,he was turned down because Lizzie was misled by Mr.Wickham. Fortunately, the misunderstandings was cleared up soon. Afterwards, Mr. Darcy helped the Bennet to solve the problem created by Lidia and Wickham, who eloped and damaged the family’s reputation.

Pride and Prejudice Eventually,Mr. Darcy won Lizzie’s heart. And Lizzie’s friend, Charlotte, got married with Mr. Colins and gained her ideal life. Moreover, Jane, Lizzie’s sister, won her own happiness with Mr. Bingley in the end, too. Through the marriages of four middle-class girls, the author showed us this class’s sense of love and marriage: it’s wrong to get married just for possession and positon, however,it’s also stupid to get married without thinking of possession,or nothing else.

The impression of Pride and Prejudice The book《 Pride and Prejudice》 is written by Jane Austen , a famous English writer . I still remember the first sentence in this book .It reads :"It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife ." The undertone is very clear : the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. Love seems to be a perpetual theme all the time .And the main story in the book Pride and Prejudice is not a exception .The writer tells us her views and attitudes about love and marriage in this book. The novel mainly tells us a love story between Elizabath and Mr. Darcy. It is at a ball that Elizabeth meets Mr. Darcy for the first time and his pride and supercilious behaviors has left Elizabeth a terrible impression . This is the reason why Elizabeth's prejudice towards him begins .Besides this reason ,there are two other incidents strengthens Elizabeth's prejudice .The first is that Wickham

Pride and Prejudice General:Chapter7-9 Jane received a letter from Miss Bingley. She was invited to have dinner with Louisa and Miss Bingley, that made Mrs Bennet crazy because she thought it’a good chance to get close to Mr Bingley. She asked Jane to ride a horse there instead of taking a carriage because it’s going to rain and Jane can stay there for a night if she ride a horse. As a result,Jane got a serious cold and wasn’t able to go home,so she stayed at Mr bingley’s home. Her sister Elizabeth walked to see her and was invited to stay there for a night too.Miss Bingley and Mrs Hurst were hostile to Elizabeth because they thought she was rude and mean.In contrary ,Miss Bingley always flattered Mr Darcy because she liked him. However, Mr Darcy liked Elizabeth and was indifferent to Miss https://www.doczj.com/doc/6114169275.html,ter,Mrs Bennet came to see Jane and talked with Mr Darcy, and that shows her ignorance. CHAPTER9 "But people themselves alter so much, that there is something new to be observed in them for ever." CHAPTER8 he was an indolent man, who lived only to eat, drink, and play at cards, who, when he found her prefer a plain dish to a ragout, had nothing to say to her. CHAPTER7 Extort She did at last extort from her father an acknowledgment that the horses were engaged. SELF RELECTION I like the words Mr Darcy said:”Her eyes were brightened by the exercise.”He said that to encounter Mrs Bingley and Mrs Hurst’s discredit against Elizabeth.I agree with him:Elizabeth made herself so embarrassing because of her worry about her sister,we don’t have right to laugh at a person who has tried hard to do something out of love. I hate Miss Bingley because she is a girl who treat others very friendly when faced with them and abuse them secretly. Moreover, she is very snobbish, she looked down upon Elizabeth because she has several poor uncles.I think we should pay more attention to the personality of a person in stead of his(her) wealth. I think the spot in chapter 7 is interesting:Mr Biennt thought his little daughters were silly to talk about the officers, however,Mrs Bennet disagreed with him and said that he should never thought his own children silly. In Chinese families, fathers always point out their children’s fault directly while mothers are inclined to treat their children with warm encouragement. This dialogue reflects the difference between ways fathers and mothers used to teach their children.

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters. "My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?" Mr. Bennet replied that he had not.
